Eliminating the Rifted

Orion in his natural form is very powerful. He released balls of dark energy and mad them flew towards Ash, Quinn and Rose. Quinn and Rose evaded them while Ash used his spear to destroy those balls. Orion did not give any chance to them and lunged at Ash.

Ash saw him approaching and kept his senses sharp for the type of attack Orion is going to make. As soon as Orion is near, he disappeared from Ash' vision. Ash knew that this guy would do something like this so he kept his skill "Enhanced Enemy Detection" active. He is also keeping an eye on the map because if Ash could not detect the enemy with his senses he, the map will show where the enemy is present.

Orion appeared on the back side of Ash and tried to impale him using his sharp hand. Ash sensing the danger blocked the attack with his hand. Orion tried to attack him using other hand. The fingers kept on scratching Ash's hand.

Meanwhile Quinn and Rose saw Ash in his defensive position and charged at Orion with their weapons. When they were near they both slashed at the hands of Orion and his both hands got cut off.

They felt a bit relieved but when they saw Orion he is smiling. What they saw next has completely shocked them?

The severed hands turned into dust and got attached to his body again.

Ash's hands are filled with scratches but suddenly felt a System message.

"Host has been inflicted with "Dark Jaeger Poison""

"Host has been cured of the poison due to poison immunity skill"

Ash looked at Quinn and shouted "Be careful his nails are poison so do not get scratched. As for me I am immune to all poisons".

Quinn and Rose widened their eyes with realization. They stepped back away from Orion.

"Oh! Now I understand why you are still standing even after getting inflicted with powerful poison" said Orion with a creepy tone.

"System buy two antidotes for the poison" said Ash.

"20000 gold host" said the system.

"Take it and give it to me" said Ash.

Two vials of antidote appeared in his hand and he threw them to Quinn and Rose.

"Drink it. It is an antidote for the poison" said Ash.

Quinn and Rose obeyed and drank the antidote.

"Well this is interesting. Someone with dimensional ability. I didn't expect this turn of events"

Ash looked at Orion and said "I have brewed antidotes for poisons when I was learning alchemy so I also had stock of antidote for "Dark Jaeger Poison" in my dimensional storage" lied Ash.

"Looks like one of your trump cards is out of the game" said Ash.

"Yeah but I still have many cards to play" said Orion with a creepy smile.

Ash put away his spear into inventory and decided to fight Orion with bare hands using MMA techniques. It's now that he can't defeat him with spear but now it is time for him to use the martial arts and magic to fight his battles.

Ash put his hands up as guard to his face and waved his fingers for Orion to attack him. Orion smiled and quickly came to pierce Ash with transformed hand which took the form of a blade.

The hand is inches away from Ash's throat when Ash quickly bent backward and let the attack pass over him. He immediately arranged his body and delivered a kick to Orion's back.

Quinn and Rose also followed suit and put their weapons away. They also decided to fight Orion with hands and feet rather than weapons.

Orion was pushed a few feet away and fell down. Orion became enraged and released a dark energy arc towards Ash.

Ash clenched his fists willed the innate magical energy to flow to his hands to conjure flames on his fists. He intensified the energy output and launched a fire punch as soon as arc came to him. Orion took this as opportunity and turned his attention to Quinn and Rose. He moved swiftly and used his nails to inflict scratches.

Quinn and Rose put their guard up to not let Orion's nails touch their faces. Every scratch left a burning sensation in their hands but they could not put their guard down.

On the other side Ash is still trying to push back the arc with the flame. But the power was high and Ash got hit by the arc. Ash fell backwards a few feet. When he stood up drop of blood came out from right side of his mouth.

Ash touched the bleeding side and looked at the blood. Ash did not feel down instead he is smiling.

Ash looked at Quinn and Rose being pushed back. He ran and jumped into the air with a smile on his face.

Orion was so fixated on Quinn and Rose that he did not notice Ash jumping in the air and came at him with a kick. The kick hit his jaws and he fell down rolling in the air.

A blue color liquid started dripping from Orion. It is his blood. "You bastard" shouted Orion and tried to attack Ash but Quinn and Rose obstructed him.

They both kicked him on the gut. He felt huge pain due to the kick. Quinn used a "Light thorn bind" spell on Orion immediately.

Since Light magic is dangerous to their species his body started burning and he started shouting "aaaaaaaaah".

Ash didn't have light magic but Quinn and Rose both had light magic due to royal blood. Ash ran and delivered a kick on the knees of Orion which added more damage to Orion and he kept shouting more.

The knight captain and the remaining knights came running after their work was finished. They saw Orion's form and were shocked.

Morgan looked at Quinn, Rose and Ash. "Young Master, mistress and Ash are you alright?" asked Morgan.

Quinn and Rose nodded while Ash is concentrated on Orion so he could not reply. Orion' face turned savage and he ripped apart the light thorns with strength.

He conjured a gigantic ball of dark energy and threw it at Quinn and Rose. Quinn and Rose looked at the ball without any fear.

"Young master, young mistress" shouted Morgan running towards them. Ash looked at them and smiled.

He trained them and made them powerful. He knows that they are excellent in Light magic, Water magic, Fire Magic and Spirit Magic.

He knew they can take care of it easily. The siblings put their hand forward and two big balls the size of light energy appeared and clashed against the dark ball. The clash of this magic made the trees break down, huge winds blowing and even the weather started changing.

The clash was so hard that knight captain Morgan got thrown away. Finally after a minute the light balls overwhelmed the gigantic ball and destroyed it. The remaining light energy hit Orion in the gut and a hole appeared on his chest. Blue blood was dripping from the wound.

"I will kill you all" shouted Orion and launched immense bolts of dark energy towards the siblings and Ash.

Ash smiled and used the electric arcs to collide with the dark bolts of energy. Orion is out of control and kept on releasing those bolts. Ash kept on using the electric arcs to destroy those bolts.

Quinn and used light bolts to counter the dark bolts. He kept on doing for 5 minutes and his mana got depleted. Even the Rifted required mana to conjure spells.

Orion saw Ash and the siblings conjure spells even after all this time. "Impossible. How can you three conjure spells even after using that much magic?" shouted Orion with desperation.

Ash looked at the siblings with smile and they smiled back. "This is a style of magic I developed myself which doesn't require mana. I call it Evocation and we three are Evokers" said Ash triumphantly.

"What? No mana? Evocation" Orion is confused by those words. "You need not know further details" said Ash.

Orion was already bleeding through his chest and with his reckless use of mana he felt even weak. Ash conjured the wind cutters while the siblings used the "Light spears spell".

The light spears pierced through Orion's throat while Ash threw wind cutters to slice his entire body to pieces. "Use Light explosion on him" said Ash as he did not want to take any chances.

Quinn and Rose immediately used the light explosion spell and turned the pieces into dust. Thus Orion died by being blown to dust.

"Ding! Host has completed the critical quest"

"Ding! Host has been awarded with 400000 experience points".

"Ding! Host has reached Level 9"

"Ding! Host has reached Level 10"

"Ding! Host has reached Level 11"

"Ding! Host has reached Level 12"

"Ding! Host has reached Level 13"

"So five levels in one go" thought Ash.

He was satisfied with the skills he received but he had a question to ask the system. "System Orion was much weaker than those Leeches but why is elimination of them is given as critical quest?"

"Host critical quest does not mean opponent is strong. If that Rifted is left alive now he will bring lots of calamities in the future" replied the system.

"So it is based on the potential threat of the person?" asked Ash. "Yes host, he may be weak now but in just 5 years he will become so strong to wipe out half of the continent" replied system.

Ash's mouth dropped and his hands trembled on hearing those words. He eliminated a fatal enemy without knowing it. The knight captain came and made sure all three were safe. Ash and the siblings made their way back to mansion while knights carried on with clean up duties.
