Five Years Ago

"But I thought vampires were extinct. My mother told me that they no longer existed." Ava said.

Logan gave a deep smile that didn't reach his eyes as he said "That was what their king made everyone to believe but the truth is the vampires are very much alive. Vampires do not live in a pack like the werewolf, infact they live among the humans"

"Well I would know if I have seen one, after all I was told that the eyes of a vampire are red and so far apart from you I have not come across any one with red eyes."

"And that is were you are wrong."

"What do you mean?"

"Apart from hybrids and the vampire king, the other vampires actually have a normal eye color, so you wouldn't be able to tell if you have seen one or not." Logan explained.

"I see. So are their many hybrids like you?" Ava asked.

"No, they are not much and that is because a vampire and a werewolf who are not mates cannot conceive a child together. My mom and dad were mates and that is why they were able to conceive me and also the mating between werewolves and vampires are actually very rare."

"So how many hybrids are they?"

Logan was quiet for a brief seconds before he finally answered "There are five hybrids and do not worry, the hybrids do not live among the humans, they are too proud and apart from Ethan and me, the remaining three thinks that the humans are beneath them and not worth their time."

"Who is Ethan?" Ava asked.

"He is a hybrid and also a womanizer, let's not talk about another man, you should only think about me."

Ava laughed at Logan jealousy and said "You are the only man I think about."

Hearing that made Logan heart to skipped a beat and he wanted to resume their passionate moment, when Ava asked "I want to know why you hate Serefina so much."

Logan pause for a moment and separated himself from Ava and Ava thought he wanted to leave her when he began "Five years ago, when I was just 18 years old, my dad introduce Serefina to our family. He said that she didn't have any family and as a witch she could help us win the upcoming war with the Blue Blood pack. My mother disapproved and said she was not a wolf and can't stay with them and that he would be a fool if he think he could take on the Blue Blood pack. I think my dad ego was bruise and he wanted to prove everyone wrong. He wanted his pack to become number one and he wanted to be known as the strongest Alpha. As days goes by, with my father spending more time with Serefina, planning strategies on how to defeat the Blue Blood pack, I came to his study's one day and I saw him kissing her and I knew the both of them were having an affair. I had a feeling my mother knew of this, even though she was hurt she never showed it.

Two days to the war, I went into my father study's and I told him that going to war with the Blue Blood pack was a bad idea because the Blue Blood pack were not just stronger but they had a lot of members. But my father, instead of listening to me, he slapped me and told me that as long Serefina was with him, he could win the war. He kept on babbling about how Serefina was the only who is standing with him and I just got so angry that confronted him about his affair. He was shocked that I knew about it but what hurt the most was that I saw no remorse in his eyes for betraying both me and my mother. And I left him but not without telling him, he would regret it.

The day to the war came and it was at the battle field that my father and all of us who came to fight for the Crystal pack realized that it was all a trap. The enemies surrounded us as if they knew everything about our strategy and Serefina was nowhere to be found.

We fought but we knew it was in vain, the Blue Blood pack slain our people and when it was remaining only few of us, that was when Alpha Luis came with Serefina by his side. It turns out that Serefina was actually the lover of the Blue Blood pack Alpha and not only that, she was also pregnant with his child. My dad felt hurt and betrayed and then without thinking he charged towards Alpha Luis and I just stood there watching as that bastard pierced his sword towards the man I had respected and loved all my life. And then everything went blank and when I regain my senses, they were all dead. All the members of the Blue Blood pack and also Alpha Luis but I couldn't find Serefina body." Logan held Ava hands and said "Do you now see, why I want you to stay away from me whenever I am like that."

Ava couldn't fully digest everything Logan has told her. If it were all true then no part of the story Serefina had told her was true. The little guilt she felt for Serefina completely disappeared and then a sudden fear struck her heart. What if Logan find out the truth, what if he finds out that it was Serefina that asked me to get married to Logan for revenge. Would he hate me?

Logan words brought her out of her thought "I love you Ava and you don't need to be afraid of me or of anything." Logan said as he saw fear in her eyes and Ava realized that Logan thought she was afraid of him so she used her hands to carress his cheek softly and said "I will never be afraid of you Logan." I love you Ava saw to herself, she couldn't say it out loud just yet.

Logan felt relieve of the fact that Ava was not afraid of him, he smiled and gave her a peck in her forehead and he said "Let's go to sleep. I have a feeling we are going to have quite the day tomorrow." Ava nodded and wrapped her hands around Logan. She smiled as she fell asleep in her husband hands.
