"I am saying that I know how you feel," Blake did not believe it. This was perhaps Asher's way of trying to comfort him. Blake remained seated on the chair, unmoving, unblinking as Asher stood up and stepped closer, "because I know. I have gone through a similar situation as yours, so I know." these were the last words that Asher spoke to him before walking away.
That was the moment when Blake raised his head to look at Asher who just then walked out of the room. He could not believe, even though Asher sounded really genuine, but Blake could not believe that he had been in a similar situation as his.
Blake knew about the Grayson, Sullivan, and Thompson families and though the Sullivan family did suffer a tragedy years ago where Asher lost several of his family members but that was an accident, a tragedy by God's will. It did not have any human involvement and surely did not involve any torture and exploitation as Evelyn had suffered.
