Shadow Steps

"Where did he go? Where is he?" Brad exclaimed in stupefaction. He had immediately gone to the edge of the building, upon hearing Austin's laugh. Yet when he arrived there, he saw no one. 

That demon was supposed to plummet to his death, and now he's just vanished?... Brad furrowed his eyebrows in doubt.

Suddenly, a chill raced down his back, prompting him to turn around instinctively. However, all that met his gaze was the puzzled expression of Daniel. "Senior, what's wrong?"

Brad offered no response; instead, he continued scanning his surroundings warily. Then, without warning, his instincts kicked in.

"There!" 

"Incinerate!"

Whoosh!

Ssshh! 

The air hissed as flame pillars erupted from Brad's right arm, crashing into the walls. 

As the flames subsided, Brad couldn't help but knit his eyebrows in confusion.

Was my instinct wrong? But I certainly felt a presence there earlier...
