chapter 6
"You will thank me, right?" Zeus whispers. "Yes, thank you sir for saving me and my parents from that monster" Rida was still processing everything without knowing about the bomb which was all set to be released on her.
"it's Zeus, cupcake, just Zeus for you" Zeus did save her from the monster but was he serious about Rida being his bride? "okay"
"so, you ready to get married?" Aaira marched forward towards Rida who was standing too close to Zeus "who are you?" she inquired, staring at the big figure hovering over Rida.
Zeus was not sure if he really wanted to share his identity with them, but it didn't look like he had a choice here "I am Zeus"
"Zeus who?" Aaira questions, trying to remember him. Steve comes forward "we are here to help as a favor"
"favor?" Rida asks as this made no sense to her. "yes, master's brother-"
"He was here on my request love!" Nick marched towards Aaira wrapping his arms around her waist and hugging her tightly. Zeus stood there looking at him, Rida looked at them shocked "Who is she?" Zeus asks Steve looking at him "maybe girlfriend Master"
Zeus walked away from them and looked behind at Rida who was making sure her parents were well. Rida catches Zeus staring at her, she walks up to him looking at him "what did you mean by that and who are you?" she questioned him hoping to get answers from him.
"Someone you shouldn't have met!" Rida looked at him confused, narrowing her eyes trying to understand what he meant by that "why?"
"Because now that you are tangled with me, you will have to come with me and marry me"
"What???" Zeus wasn't joking when he said she was his bride "you seriously think Drake will leave you alone? After today's humiliation, he won't sit still, it's just a matter of time until he comes back to take you"
Rida knew it won't be that easy to get rid of him but marrying someone else is not something she had in mind "you don't have to worry; I'll leave Mexico so that he can't find me" she tries to reason with him.
"cupcake, if you don't agree to marry me, no one can help you from getting killed. You, your parents, and your friend they'll be dead the moment I step out, not because I want to kill you or them but because everyone who goes
against my word must die, that's the rule. Marrying me will just keep you safe. Don't worry I am not a monster and yes, after today no one would dare think about marrying you"
"What??" Rida thought the quota of her misery would be over, now that Drake was gone but the miseries were not done dealing with her. Zeus smirks looking at her, was all this his plan all along? Rida followed him as he walked out of the venue.
"Say your goodbyes we are leaving" Zeus states looking back at Rida who had no idea what just happened. "But- I- "
"We don't have time" Zeus reminds her. "But-"
"your parents will die Rida!" Rida agreed to marry the monster because of her parents, to keep them safe, and even now she has no choice but to leave with a stranger to assure their safety. "Can't you help-" Zeus stares at her, why would he help someone who means nothing to him, maybe he could have but why would he want to do that without a reason?
Rida was still unsure, but she was left with no choice "Your guards won't kill them after we leave right?" she asks him "they'll be here to keep them safe" he replied looking at them.Rida was not sure what was right and wrong anymore, she could do anything to make sure her parents were safe again. "Mommy" she crouched down before her. "Yes honey, let's leave, I don't want to stay another minute here" Rida smiles looking at her parents, as this will be it, she wanted freedom from them at what cost?
"Mommy listen to me carefully, I, um-" Rida tried to hold her tears but she couldn't "What is it?" she asks, wiping the tears off her cheeks. "I have to go mommy"
"Where?" Stella asks staring at her daughter "umm, I'll have to leave with the person who saved us" she says avoiding her eyes "what do you mean? why would you have to go with him?" she asks getting up "you are not leaving Rida! I will not let you leave!" she says shaking her head denying letting her leave. "Mommy listen to me, he's not bad, he saved me from Drake, I'm sure I'll be happy with him"
"But daughter-" Rida was firm "I have made my mind mommy, please don't make it hard for me" Stella looked at her daughter and cursed herself as she had to helplessly watch her daughter walk away from them. Rida glances at Bill who was getting treated for his injuries and wraps her arms around her mother holding her for a while and rushed towards the car before getting in she looked back at her father and then at her mother "Take care of Father" she mouths looking back at her.
Zeus was already in the car, waiting for her to come back to him. "let's go" Zeus commands the driver, Rida held her hands closer looking at the figures of her parents and then Aaira, as the car went by quickly. "I'm not holding you captive Rida" he reminds her "I won't live a free life either"
The whole ride went by silently, Rida holding her tears and Zeus scrolling his phone, until a phone call and everything changed. The calm on his face vanished and changed into an angry face, his face held no emotion even when he was threatening to kill Drake, but right now he was angry his eyes turning red in anger.
Who it might be and what are they saying to make him this angry? Rida was staring at him from the corner of the seat trying to figure out what was happening. He was too occupied with the call to notice her staring at him. "DON'T YOU DARE! I WILL KILL YOU IF ANYTHING LIKE THAT HAPPENS."
Okay, he is clearly angry, Rida couldn't hear what the other person was saying but it was clear that Zeus was threatening that person with their life to not do it. When Zeus was about to disconnect the call Rida heard a girl screaming his name. Rida thought she was speaking in her mind, but she was not... that was loud, loud enough for Zeus to turn over questioning her. 'A girl?' "Huh?" Zeus turned around staring at her "wait was I loud?"
