[!!!Mature Content!!!] *Triggers listed below* Adeline Weston is a peasant. A lucky one, however, if you wish to call her that. Her secret lover is one of the highest nobility; the prince of Ravenvale, Oliver Ambrose. Though, they’re forbidden to be together. Nonetheless, she loves him with everything in her and he loves her just the same, even promising her that he would make her his queen when he takes over the kingdom. But it’s mostly wish-washy. Nobility and poverty do not mix according to the laws; laws that result in a punishment as severe as banishment or execution if broken. Adeline and Oliver were on a very fine line. A peasant isn't supposed to be with nobility because they have nothing to offer. Or so his parents unfortunately pounded into the minds of their Kingdom. But Adeline and Oliver try and think otherwise. They only want to believe that they're going to be a loving family and live happily ever after eventually. After all, they’ve been friends for 11 years so why couldn’t they make something work? Perhaps it’s the fact that, not only was he cursed, but his entire family as well; A curse that made them crave human blood? Or is it the other man she is to be wed to instead, in a nearly arranged marriage by the ones she loves? Join Adeline as she attempts to fight for her happiness, though beware; She only has until she’s 22 years old to find it, otherwise she will be banished. Though the location citizens are banished to is a lot closer than anticipated…. +++++++++++++ -Smut content will be more soft-core. Chapters will have (R18) -Triggers: Pregnancy loss, violence, blood, so on.... -1st Person POV: Default is Adeline's -Slow Burn Romance (first 30ish chapters are fast, but after will be steady) -My own little fantasy version of a mainly medieval/Victorian mashup setting -Not a reverse harem in any way, but there are a couple love interests. —-—-— Thank you to all that take the time to read my stories. People from our district were often times called swine, but what do you call someone that has obvious disregard for someone's feelings? Or is disrespect held higher than a person's life if one was not born into nobility?
"I'm sure it's only a coincidence?" Edith tried to reassure me as I sat behind an off-white, nearly cream colored vanity the wedding chapel provided for the bride. She was attempting to do my makeup and hair for my wedding in only an hour, and yet, I was extremely angry for a day such as today; My Wedding.
I had just found out that Gregory had asked, being a high-ranking guardsman, the castle to have a royal member be our officiant. Not only did they agree, but they had decided that the person they would send would be none other than Oliver Ambrose.
The King, Rupert Ambrose, typically did them, but since Oliver is now an official royal adult, I suppose that's why they were sending him. At least I hoped that was the reason; I sometimes felt like we were being punished.
I wasn't sure if I was more nervous about becoming Mrs. Tucker or seeing him again.
"Hopefully," I replied to her. "I'd hate to think the Castle has that much ill-will towards me."
My dress was going to be the last thing I put on; didn't need to spill something on it, knowing my clumsy self. "Maybe you'll find a man to marry," I joked, "you look like a noblewoman yourself now." She was dressed in a long, dark red dress with black frills as cuffs, and decor on the front of the skirt.
In order to be in my wedding, the ones I invited from my district, whether friends or family, had to dress like they belonged; So, I made sure Gregory bought everything they needed to be present. I informed him if they weren't there, I'd walk out and leave him at the altar.
He knew better than to think I was bluffing. Unfortunately for him, the moment he made me say yes to marrying him, was also the day I stopped being a complete damsel in distress and started to have a mind of my own.
"Wouldn't that be nice, but it's not every day that a woman like us gets a man of nobility, remember? Besides, have you not realized that you look like a goddess, Adeline?"
I looked at her through the mirror, "and you don't? Men eye you all the time; they're just too chicken to approach."
"Yes, well people of our district tend to be banished or executed for fucking a rich man," she gave me a joking glare, "I suppose you're just lucky that the first rich man you fucked was the prince, otherwise I'd be preparing you for a funeral, not a wedding, I'm sure."
I rolled my eyes, "well you obviously know about what happened," I reminded her; she was the first one to hold Jude, "so perhaps they can make an exception for you as well?"
Her eyes looked up, as if she was trying to see her brain as she thought about it. "I don't know, I mean the fancy dresses, the jewelry, the makeup; it all seems like a lot of fun, but it seems too much for me? I'd miss the dirt, honestly." She finished my hair and makeup before grabbing both of my shoulders with her hands; She leaned down to rest her chin on one of them to look into the mirror with me. "Be honest, when was the last time your shoes touched mud?" I couldn't answer. Other than when I visited my parents on a rainy day or close to, it wasn't enough to be counted.
"Exactly," she smirked with my silence. "Now it's time for your dress." As she walked over to a closet inside the dressing room, there was knock at the door. We both fell silent for a moment before whoever it was knocked once more; though not a word leaving their mouth.
"Who is it?" Edith called out.
"It's Gregory," my husband-to-be told us through the wooden door. "Just making sure everything is going alright in there."
My best friend walked up to it, though refusing to open it she told him to go away and how it was bad luck to see the bride before she walks down the aisle. Though he didn't let up, and wanted to speak to her about an important item he wanted to add to my attire. "What do you want to add?" Edith was almost annoyed at his persistence, and the fact he wanted to add something to her very own, temporary dress up doll; Me.
"My red chain; I want Addy to wear it." I was confused.
"What do you mean?" I chimed in. Though before he could answer, Edith hushed me.
"It's fine, it must be a tradition or something. I'll be right back." Then she carefully made her way out the door, leaving me in front of the mirror by myself. As I heard their footsteps go down the hall, I sighed. I was due to walk down the aisle shortly and failed to be dressed yet; so I took it upon myself to start putting my own dress on.
My bare feet walked across the oak floors, over to the closet where my beautiful, almost magical looking white dress awaited.
The skirt was more long than puffy surprisingly, leaving a tail longer than the height of 3 men, while the sleeves were nonexistent. I looked at my chest, hoping my breasts were big enough to still hold it up; the last thing I needed was for everyone to see my tits while I stood at the alter in front of a man who was technically supposed to be the only one to ever see me naked. Of course, that's a secret only a select few know the truth to.
As I wiggled into my dress, there was another knock at the door. "Come in!" I mindlessly answered, muffled, before whoever it was darted into the room, though making sure the door closed softly. "I need a bit of help," I pleaded, as the chest part of my dress was stuck over my face, my arms stuck straight up above my head.
The person walked over to me, before placing both of their hands on the back of my skirt, and gave it a quick, though gentle, tug, causing it to immediately fall into place.
"Thank you," I gasped, having felt like I was about to suffocate.
