Ch-20 Forming a core

Ryan getting drag through the void to a random destination, his protection artifact immediately activated.

The void chaotic winds was swiping across the barrier every other second. It didn't do to much damage, all you actually need is to put up a protective barrier with mana to be safe.

Ryan sight was very limited, the only light he was able to see was coming from his protective barrier. From what he could see it look like he was getting drag through a tornado.

The darkness in the distance looked very sketchy like there something definitely hiding in it. The only sound Ryan could here was the sound of something traveling through the air fast.

The barrier was useless against the pressure to his body making it hard for him to breathe and move. It felt like he was getting squash by the air.

It didn't take long for him to notice that his barrier was dimming by the second. He just laid in the void feeling useless surrounded by darkness.

He still getting pulled through the void by the teleportation talisman but he have no idea if the barrier will break before he leaves the void.

Thoughts of past events flash pass his eyes as he traveled. He realized he always been useless and always have to rely on someone to fix his problems, instead of doing anything himself.

(When the guy was trying to bully Jessica, what did I actually do? I try to walk away without saying anything. If it wasn't for his name being called to fight, I would still be standing there doing nothing helpful. I eventually had to use my brother name as protection.)

(When the faction leader put a wind blade to my head I sat there doing nothing hoping someone else to do something to save me.)

(I thought I was smarter than a faction leader and try to tell him his plan was bad.)

(What was i thinking, im only 14 years old how can I easily see a problem he can't see. I even almost got my arm cut off and my brother had to step in front of me while I stood there doing nothing.)

(The whole time everyone was fighting I was standing behind my brother for protection doing nothing.)

(When my mom got blown up and was buried. I stood there doing nothing. And now as I travel through the void in danger, I'm laying here doing nothing. Just hoping that I will make it out.)

(Some of those things there really was nothing I could do but I'm tired of doing nothing. Im tired of being weak and useless. Looking at the barrier that already lost half the brightness.)

(I should take matters into my own hands. This could be the last opportunity i will have to actually stop being useless. I may not live through this.)

(Instead of waiting and hoping that the barrier will last until i leave the void. I will form my own mana core and use mana to protect myself. Even if the barrier fails there still me doing something to hold on until I leave.)

(Definitely risky and stupid but so what. What other option i have. Mom did say if im feeling useless i should remember you are only useless if you do absolutely nothing. Or something like that.)

Ryan start trying to sense mana in the surroundings but he realize he won't be able to focus on just one element.

Picking out and absorbing the element he need take concentration.

With the pressure of the place concently squeezing his body and the mental pressure knowing he only minutes away from his death. At the back of his mind, still worried about his family. There no way to focus enough to do that.

( I will just absorb everything.) " Ryan thought  to himself as he start pulling all the elements in the void to him not paying attention to what elements is what.

He knows how dumb the decision he making is but he simply doesn't care at this point.

There 3 different kinds of elements getting pulled in but one of them was getting pulled in alot faster than the other's. Focusing only on the element that was coming in faster, he realized he had better control over this element than lightning.

Ryan didn't get a chance to figure out what exactly the element was, he immediately felt intense pain.

Mana is very harmful to the body and he try to pull all the mana elements in, even the ones he didn't have good control over. The mana start wrecking the inside of his body which forced him to stop.

Forcing the mana out his body, it took him a minute or two to recover enough to think about his actions.

That was incredibly stupid of me to do, I'm definitely better off just hoping I leave the void first.

Another minute pass as he still trying to recover from the pain. He see the barrier slightly flickered, making his heart skip a beat.

(Ima die either way at this rate, I'm better off in trying at forming my core. I really don't want to depend on luck to survive.)

Taking a deep breath with more determination in his eyes, he attempts to absorb the element again. But this time only the one that was easy to control.

He couldn't do that the first time because he had no idea that this element even existed at the time so how could he absorb it.

Knowing what to feel for he start absorbing the element faster than he do while absorbing the lightning element.

Not to much time went pass before the elements in his core started to become unbalanced. A sharp pain was stabing right where his core was at.

It felt like he was trying to form a spikey lava ball that weighs more than a large mountain in his body. The pressure and burning pain was becoming unbearable, regret was written all over his face.

Ryan just kept pulling in more and more element. Keeping it condensed with shear will power. Repeating in his head "condense, condense condense" knowing once he loses control of it his death will be right after.

He stop paying attention to the barrier and the void he was in.

The pain took up all his senses. Hoping that his core will balance back out, he kept stuffing more and more of the unknown element in.

Doing his best to not let it explode  time felt extremely slow. It felt like forever but he knew his barrier won't last that long, so he knew  not to much time couldn't had gone pass.

The pain start lessening  but it didn't connect to his brain right away. He kept pulling in more and more elements trying to condense it. More time pass until he start feeling a slight pain from the core. The pain shock him back to his senses.

He use the core sealing technique that everyone one uses when forming there core. It was very hard to do while his body and mental energy felt depleted. As he was in the middle of sealing the core, he got kick out the void.

He almost lost the last bit of concentration he had feeling himself falling but he subconsciously knew if he fail he will die either way.

He kept his eyes closed and gritted his teeth. using every little bit power he had left in his body to place the seal. Just as he seal his core to solidify it, he felt his body braking through branches.

BOOM!!!
