The Extra Seeks Chaos

Eric Langley, an eighteen-year-old boy whose parents passed away three years ago, had no known relatives and was left to fend for himself. To support himself, he worked in a bakery, using his earnings to cover his daily needs and indulge in his favorite pastime—reading chapters of the novel "Humanity's Strongest Mage," which had recently gone on hiatus. Eric had a love-hate relationship with the novel. While he was captivated by its world, he despised the Protagonist, Alex Whiteheart. Alex had it all from the start: strength, fame, money, and of course, a harem. He never faced any real challenges, effortlessly overcoming every obstacle, which made the story lack something Eric craved....... Chaos. One evening, while taking a walk with his headphones on, Eric was lost in thought. The music drowned out the world around him, and he failed to notice a car losing control and speeding toward him. The last thing he heard was a screech before everything went dark. When Eric woke up, memories flooded his mind, and he quickly realized something was wrong. He wasn't in his own world anymore; he had somehow ended up in the world of "Humanity's Strongest Mage." To his shock, he found himself in the body of Arin Vale, an insignificant character never mentioned in the novel—a true extra. Now, armed with the knowledge of future events and driven by a desire for chaos, Arin had one goal: to disrupt the smooth journey of Alex Whiteheart, the Protagonist. He was determined to introduce Chaos into the story, making it far more interesting than it ever was, and in the process, he'll also find out that there's more to his character than just being an Extra. Chaos vs Seraphine

Arin slammed his right foot into the ground with force, causing debris to scatter around him. He crouched low, shifting his right leg back, his sword poised and ready to strike. A smirk curled on his lips as he locked eyes with Seraphine.

"I won't lose here because..." he began, his voice low and confident. The tension in the air thickened as the red spikes hurtled toward him. He paused for effect, then added with quiet determination, "I am all that I choose to be."

*WHOOSH*

The crimson spikes closed in rapidly, but before they could reach him...

*BOOM*

Arin suddenly kicked off the ground with explosive force, a cloud of dust erupting behind him. He reached the spikes in an instant, his sword a blur as it sliced through the air.

*CLANG* *CLANG* *CLANG*

A rapid series of metallic clangs echoed as Arin deflected the spikes with precision, inching closer to Seraphine with every strike. His enhanced speed, a result of the Extra's Stand skill, allowed him to expertly counter each spike, sparks flying with each impact.

More spikes surged toward him, but his focus never wavered. He continued deflecting them, his eyes sharp and unwavering, showing no hesitation.

Using the Arcane Chaos spell would have made this easier, but Arin knew better. Vampires couldn't use Mana; instead, they harnessed Blood Energy. The effects of his Arcane Chaos spell were nullified against the red spikes, forcing him to rely solely on his physical abilities.

As the last spike neared, Arin raised his left hand, summoning a Water Shield to block it. But before he could catch his breath...

*WHOOSH*

Seraphine appeared before him, a predatory grin on her face as her claws slashed toward his head.

*CLANG*

Arin was quick, raising his sword just in time to parry her strike. The force of their clash sent Seraphine stumbling back, but Arin saw his chance.

Without missing a beat, he flicked his wrist, lunging his sword toward her heart. But before the blade could strike...

*CLANG*

A red armor, seemingly made of hardened blood, materialized over Seraphine's chest, stopping his sword cold and sending sparks flying.

*WHOOSH*

Seraphine leaped back, putting distance between them once more. She eyed him warily, her expression a mix of surprise and respect.

"You're stronger than you look," she muttered, her tone begrudging. "I didn't think I'd have to put in this much effort."

From the sidelines, Tessa watched the battle unfold, her eyes narrowed in concentration. She had decided to let Chaos take the lead, observing how the fight would play out. "That Vampire is strong, but Chaos.... he's something else," she murmured.

Arin, on the other hand, was calculating his next move.

'I'll have to use magic sparingly,' he thought, his gaze locked on Seraphine. 'My enhanced physical abilities should be enough to defeat her, but I need to do it quickly, before the cost of this skill becomes too much.'

The Extra's Stand skill had a price. The longer it remained active, the greater the toll on his body. While his other skills, Extra's Cloak and Transfer, could be used without limit, Extra's Stand was different. Prolonged use would leave him vulnerable, even if just for a few critical moments.

'I can't afford to let this drag on,' Arin resolved, gripping his sword tighter.

Seraphine smirked as her claws began to elongate, growing longer and more menacing. Blood Energy pulsed from her hands, wrapping around her claws and amplifying their power.

"This won't be enough," she muttered, sizing Arin up. She could sense the shift in his stance—he was preparing to attack.

Blood Energy surged again, this time enveloping her entire body. She could feel herself growing stronger, faster, her senses sharper than ever.

A wild grin spread across her face as she slammed her foot into the ground, debris scattering around her in a mirror of Arin's earlier move.

"Darling!" Seraphine shouted, her voice dripping with anticipation. "Here I come!"

*BOOM*

The ground beneath them shattered as both fighters launched themselves forward, blurring with speed. In the blink of an eye, they met in the middle, Seraphine grinning wickedly while Arin's expression remained hidden behind his mask.

*WHOOSH* *CLANG*

Their weapons clashed with a force that made the air around them ripple, the ground cracking under the pressure. Sparks flew wildly as Arin's sword met Seraphine's claws, each strike more powerful than the last.

Tessa's hair whipped around her as she gripped a nearby tree, her eyes wide with awe. The sheer intensity of the battle was overwhelming, and she could barely keep up with their movements.

"What the hell is this...?" she whispered, her voice trembling. All she could see were two blurs and the sparks that flew with every clash.

Arin pressed his attack, lunging at Seraphine with relentless speed. His sword slashed through the air, meeting her claws with a flurry of sparks.

*CLANG* *CLANG* *CLANG*

Seraphine matched his ferocity, her Blood Energy-infused claws deflecting his strikes with a deadly elegance. But Arin refused to relent, staying close and denying her any room to breathe.

With a swift motion, Arin raised his hand, channeling Mana into a spell. The sound of rushing water filled the air as Water Spikes formed above him, ready to strike.

With a flick of his wrist, the Water Spikes shot toward Seraphine, who braced herself, her claws ready.

"You think these will stop me?!" she sneered. "Think again!"

*CLANG*

With a powerful slash, she deflected the first wave of Water Spikes, but more followed, forcing her to stand her ground.

"Tch..." she clicked her tongue in irritation, standing firm as the spikes closed in.

But just as the Water Spikes were about to hit...

*WHOOSH*

A wave of Blood Energy erupted from her body, altering the trajectory of the spikes and sending them harmlessly off course.

"Haha, that was easy..." she began, but her victory was short-lived.

An ominous presence loomed above her, and she glanced up in alarm. "Tch..."

Arin had already leaped high above her, his sword descending like a meteor, aimed directly at her head.

"Stupid move," Seraphine muttered, raising her claws to block the attack.

*CLANG*

The sound of their clash echoed through the forest, louder than any before, as their weapons met with devastating force.

*WHOOSH*

The wind whipped around them, making their hair and cloaks billow wildly. Seraphine had blocked his strike as expected, but she was unaware of Arin's true intentions.

In a fluid motion, Arin, still airborne, pressed down on his sword, using Seraphine's claws as leverage. Before she could react, he flipped over her, landing gracefully behind her.

His eyes locked onto her exposed neck, and without hesitation, his sword lashed out.

"I told you..." Arin whispered, his voice icy and determined. "I won't lose here..."
