The Collective: Golem Divinity

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to grow in divinity? All while everyone else seems to think you are way stronger than you actually are? Well that's what Mark has to deal with when it comes to their new found life surrounded by any and every mythology there is. Oh, and there is of course their current employer, that hopes to have them in an eventual high position of their newly restructured Omniversal company. Also the fact that they didn't have much of a choice in the matter, not that they didn't want to though. _______________________________________________________________________ Discord server: https://discord.gg/vFb9ZcajzY

Feeling

Getting Access to the crystals from Agares was a lot easier than I thought it would be. I was expecting security to be a lot more stringent with the Great War happening. Granted, it took like a year of ground work, research, learning each entryway into the island, and figuring out their security detail. However, after Sebastian and I quadruple checked everything, I just moved forward with the plan to have Retzio's legion sneak in.

The group shaped up quite well with their stealth skills. Nothing below the Ultimate class level could detect them. Even those at that level would have to be specialized in detection in order to find them. Strangely enough, none of the original satans were guarding the island itself. They only deemed it necessary to have a select few Ultimate class devils, a bunch of high class, and a large amount of middle class.

Considering how important the place was to devil society as a whole, I expected better. Perhaps I expected too much from them though. Also, I noticed another thing as I was researching devils. I know they said it was outlawed in the show after the Great War, but realizing that devils were still dealing in souls, and devouring them, made me feel disgusted. Perhaps it had to do with the fact that I technically created souls for my golems, or my previous life jaded my vision.

Regardless of what it may be, it made me realize just how dark the current societies of the biblical factions truly were during the Great War. Yeah, the other two factions weren't clean either. The Fallen at this time loved three things, war, sex, and money. That would later change to fighting, sex, and money, but there is a reason that Azazel had an ironfist over the fallen at this time.

The dude was cold, calculating, and cruel at times. He may have already delved deep into his research due to writing a report on his artificial sacred gear while he was in heaven. He put off his research entirely in order to facilitate his resources for the war. It was interesting to see the special care he put into Mishala though. The girl was a six winged fallen already, and would probably become an eight winged fallen within this century.

I originally thought that due to Yahweh's system, the fallen wouldn't be able to grow in power, but it turns out that it was already weakened after his work to seal trihexa. What's messed up about the angelic faction isn't even the angels, it's the church. The things they did and continued to try to do to the fae was messed up. When I saw what Sebastian showed me, I am pretty sure I caused a lot of trauma for my golems, and even some of my children.

Sebastian

The things that some of these factions would do just to gain more power over the other was deplorable. The biblical factions are prime examples. The devils eating souls, the fallen mass recruiting human magicians by taking advantage of their morals, and the church. The church was so hypocritical, it almost made the whole eating souls thing seem like child's play. I still remember very clearly what Mother's reaction was when I sent her the files on the fae.

Two Months Ago

I saw a woman of the fae race being chased down by a large number of exorcists from the church through one of the rabbits. I had it follow closely behind. Eventually, the woman was cornered by a tree and they started yelling at her.

"Viviane of the Fae, we implore you to come back with us to work together on new tools for the one true god!" Oh great, they were extremist. That didn't bode well.

"Never will I ever assist you with creating any more instruments for your stupid war! Many of my brethren were forced to work for you in order to try and mimic what I have achieved. You already desecrated The Excalibur that I forged, let alone swords like Caliburn that you tainted. How far will you go to destroy my legacy!" The woman named Viviane turned out to be the creator of the legendary holy swords currently in possession of the church.

"I do apologize that talking will not get through that heretic mind of yours. It looks like we will have to use more, forceful methods to take you in." The exorcist even had the gall to lick his lips as he stared at her enchanting figure. I decided to step in before things escalated further. I teleported in front of Viviane and it caused the charging exorcists to pause.

"Who dares to intrude on our holy inquisition!" The exorcist taking the lead of the group yelled out as I appeared in front of the fae.

"Who I am is of no concern to you. However, what you are trying to do is a concern to me." After I finished speaking, I gave them no time to speak, let alone react before I ignited each of them in flames. The group were barely within middle class in power, and the weapons they used barely had any holy power. The screams they made as their entire bodies lit on fire were music to my ears however. While they were immobilized and screaming for dear life, I turned around to greet the fae I saved.

"Hello my dear lady of the lake, my name is Sebastian of the golem faction." She stared at me like she saw a ghost, then started to choke in surprise.

"You..You're the overseer! Sebastian the all-seeing! The first son of the Golem Goddess. I…I can't believe you saved me. This can't be real, am I dreaming right now?" She seemed to be lost in thought.

"As interesting as that may be, this is in fact very real Miss Viviane. Now, if you have no safe place to go, I would be happy to take you in. I would love to hear more about exactly what happened to you and your fellow fae." I held out my hand, and she looked at me when I finished speaking. She wiped up what few tears popped up in her eyes and gave me the best smile she could muster at the time.

"I would be honored to let you know everything. I do hope that there is a chance that my fellow fae could be saved and those that are hiding away to be safeguarded." As she took my hand, I teleported us to my personal office and answered her.

"We will cross that road when we get there. All of it depends on what you have to say, and what my Mother says in response. I will assist you in your case when we meet with her though."

"That's better than anything I could ask for with the position I currently hold." She was holding herself together better than what one might expect. However, she is most likely putting on a front to look brave if the shiver and occasional twitching was a sign. I didn't call it out however as I messaged Mother and she called us to meet her in the public office room. This room was a more recent addition that Mother planned to use for any meetings we may have with outside figures in the future.

She was planning on using this room to interoga…I mean interview Loki when Retzio brought her here in a few months. The two of them were hitting it off quite well if my regular check-ins with Retzio were to be trusted. That's beside the point though. I guided Viviane to the public office on the first floor of our home. She looked around nervously as several golems constantly shuffled past us, going on with their work. They paid us no mind, and we reached the office without issue.

Within the room, Mother was sitting at the center seat, and motioned for us to sit across from her.

"Welcome to the home of the golems, Viviane. I hope that things aren't too uncomfortable for you." Mother started things off to break the ice. It helped since Viviane relaxed further into her seat, taking a more comfortable position. A golem maid walked in and set down tea for each of us except for Mother. She was given a special blend of Coffee. She drank both, but preferred coffee when she was working.

"Thank you for your hospitality goddess, I'm very happy that Mr. Sebastian has decided to take me in and save me." Was there a hint of reverie in that statement? Mother's smirk at me quickly confirmed that fact. I put it off for now and pushed the narrative to the point of the conversation.

"Ahem, Mother, I discovered Viviane and saved her from exorcists of the church. I'm sure you may have read the small message I have sent, but Viviane here has agreed to discuss everything that led up to the current events of her being chased, and would like to request for us to help the fae." Mother raised an eyebrow at my statement, and Viviane was nervously looking in her direction.

"I guess I can hear you out, Viviane. Tell me everything, don't mince out on any details on what happened. If you struggle to remember the details of any events clearly, Sebastian here can help you project your memories on this projector screen to my left." She motioned to her left and Viviane looked over to the blank white screen in contemplation.

"Yes, that may be for the best, and will allow things to go by faster than word of mouth. Mr. Sebastian, if you don't mind, I would like to project my memories." That level of trust was unwarranted, but a fitting show that she was serious about this.

"Alright, I will assist with this. Focus on the earliest memory of when this started, then go from there." As I said that, multiple magic sigils and formulas popped up beside me, while I facilitated the magic, and projected the memories onto the screen. The spell itself was simple in concept, but difficult in application. It showed the full details of someone's memories without showing their deepest secrets, unless they permitted it. Of course I could force out everything, but that wasn't necessary here.

To say that the memories were gruesome would be putting it lightly. They did everything possible to her and her brethren short of defiling her. That was the one thing they didn't do to her because of her magical prowess. Her fellow fae weren't so lucky however. The only reason why she was powerless today, was they used a temporary, but powerful curse to stop her from using magic. Due to this, she ran away.

By the time Viviane finished showing everything, I finished the spell, and our home dimension shook.

3rd Person

Everything within the dimension of the golems was tranquil. The dangerous aquatic monsters being fished up by the golem fisherman/woman. Strange farm plants and creatures being discovered by farming golems, and many different golems just adventuring within the dimension to discover more about it. However, something changed. Something disturbed the cycle.

A disturbance within the forces that are of the dimension itself. One moment, everything was flowing the same without change. The next, everything within the dimension, and even the dimension itself, felt something different. Something old, more primal. That feeling was that of pure rage, coming from the core of the place itself. It was so visceral, that for just a moment, a second at most, that force leaked out into Earth.

That second though, felt like ages for any that could sense it. He was awake, and he was furious.
