Chapter One: The Tragic Beginning

Death.

Death is the only way to describe this government and the only way to describe the brutal punishments this government inflicts on its people.

When the world went into war for the fourth time, everything stopped. Including time. The Logan family always lived in constant fear of being sought out by the current Canadian regime, known for their brutal ways and violent punishments against people who speak out or commit any actions that defies them. The reason to why the Logan family is fearing for their lives is because, they speak out against their current government in places where they cannot be brought out to be tried for their treasonous ways. The main two that speaks out against their totalitarian regime type of government are Murphy and Brigid Logan's fraternal twins, Lia and Finley Logan and they are both always risking their lives to tell how corrupt and evil their totalitarian regime type of government is. There really isn't a way to describe the regime except for one word: cold-blooded.

The Logan family was doing their daily routine when some stormtroopers from the regime show up at their front door. These stormtroopers bang on the door to the point it could go off its hinges. Brigid finally gives in and opens the door. But, to her horror, these stormtroopers were armed with every weapon they could possibly have in this regime.

"Why the HELL are you at our front door!?" Brigid yelled loud enough for her whole family to hear.     

"We need you to give up your twins because they are wanted by the regime for their treasonous ways." One stormtrooper said in a calm and matter of fact tone of voice.

"Fuck no. We will not give up Lia and Finley to a murderous, cold-blooded, inhumane, and hard-hearted totalitarian followers like you!" Murphy snapped back at the stormtroopers.

Murphy was right. They were not going to give up Lia and Finley easily. In fact, they have to be tortured and killed before they would give them up. Brigid and Murphy were going to get their wish.

"GIVE US YOUR TWINS BEFORE WE HAVE TO FORCE YOU TO DO IT OURSELVES!?" A second stormtrooper yelled in a militant tone of voice.

"We won't do it! You can kill us and torture us before you get your hands on our twins!?" Brigid and Murphy snap angrily at the same time.

"Fine! We'll kill you right here, right now. Say your last fucking words, you pieces of shit!?" The first stormtrooper said in an antagonistic tone of voice.

As soon as the lead stormtrooper said that sentence, Juliana comes downstairs and stops dead in her tracks.

"Mama, daddy, what's happening? Why are there bad people here?" Juliana questions in a concerned tone of voice.

"Juliana, baby, please look away." Brigid said in a soothing tone to calm Juliana down.

"Shut up, little girl! You don't need to be involved with this!?" The second stormtrooper said in an irritated tone of voice.

"Hey! Don't yell at my four-year-old child like that!?" Murphy said in a provoked tone of voice.

All of a sudden, all of the stormtroopers that are present at the Logan family home open fires on Brigid and Murphy Logan. They shoot all of their weapons empty of everything they have to ensure that Brigid and Murphy are dead. After thirty seconds of firing their weapons, the bloodbath and overkill was over. Juliana looks on at the murder scene with shock and a traumatized look on her face.

"MAMA, DADDY!? WAKE UP PLEASE!?" Juliana yelled in a traumatized and scared tone of voice. 

As soon as she yells that, she breaks down into sobs and screaming. The stormtroopers look on with no other expression on their faces except for anger. The stormtroopers look at the bloody murder scene for one last time and walk away, unphased.

A few hours after the murder of Brigid and Murphy Logan, the twins, Lia and Finley, come back home after being out because of some errands they had to do. They were both questioning how to get into the house.

"Should we go through the front or back door, Finley?" Lia asked in a questionable tone of voice.

"We should go through the back door. If we were to be sought out by the government, they wouldn't suspect we would go through the back door and not the front door." Finley said with a matter-of-fact tone of voice.

"Alright. We can do that. I agree that it would make us less suspicious. Also, what do we tell mom and dad–"  Lia cut herself off as she steps into the house. She looks on the floor in the kitchen and sees her bullet-ridden parents for the first time.

"FINLEY, GET YOUR SLOW ASS IN HERE! SOMETHING HAS HAPPENED TO MOM AND DAD!?" Lia screams in an agitated tone of voice.

Finley runs in to where Lia is screaming at the top of her lungs and sees the horrifying sight. He sees his happy, caring, and loving parents, dead on the ground with a lot of bullets in both of their bodies. He then sees Juliana and goes over to her. Lia, after a few seconds of processing the sight, goes over to her younger sister and gets down to her level to give her a very tight hug. Finley goes to hug Lia and all three of the Logan kids sob into each other's arms.

A few months have passed since the death of Brigid and Murphy Logan and the kids are still grieving. The twins are still speaking against the government and Alicia Smith isn't too happy about that.

"Why haven't those blasted twins been stopped yet?" Alicia questions in an exasperated manner.

"We've tried to, Alicia, but their parents were not wanting to give them up so easily." William said in an idiotic tone of voice.

"Well, I didn't think of that. OF COURSE I KNEW THAT!? That is why we still haven't got to them." Alicia said in an irritated attitude.

"What shall we do now since those lousy parents of theirs are dead?" William stated in a very stupid and annoying attitude.

"Okay William, I have a very good question for you to answer." Alicia said in a very annoyed tone of voice.

"What is it, Alicia?" William asked in a very oblivious tone.

"CAN YOU PLEASE SHUT THE FUCK UP FOR FIVE MINUTES!?" Alicia yelled in a very angry and irritated tone.

As soon as she yelled that at William, one of her advisors come in to talk about the rise of people speaking out against their government. Alicia tells William to get out of her office so she could talk with her advisor for a few minutes.

Lia and Finley get on with their day when Juliana comes into their room to ask them something. The twins lended her an ear and she asked what she needed to ask. The question: how are we going to survive this government while being in the midst of a fourth world war? The twins told Juliana that they did not have the answer to her question. Juliana then leaves to go down to the kitchen. As soon as she got down to the kitchen, shots rang out in the house.

Juliana was dead.

The two stormtroopers that shot Juliana were covered in blood and they left with a smirk on their faces. They leave the scene of the crime and then get hit with the sense of dread and fear of Alicia's wrath of fury if she were to find out that an innocent child was murdered. In cold blood.

"Umm, I think we killed an innocent civilian. And I think we are screwed since Alicia might find out that we killed an innocent civilian because of a misidentification issue." The first stormtrooper said in a concerned and shaky tone of voice.

"We won't be screwed. We did kill a whiny brat since she would not shut up when we killed her parents." The second stormtrooper said in a cocky and sly tone of voice.

"You really think that, dude." The first stormtrooper said in a confused and concerned tone of voice. 

They then walked into the waiting room of Alicia's office and stood in the room and did not sit down because of the blood that was on their uniforms. They started to wonder if they pulled something stupid or horrible. Then, the door slams open and there stands Alicia, and she was not in a good mood.

"Come in you two. You are needed for a briefing of the search for the twins." Alicia said in an annoyed and sly tone of voice.

"A-alright. We will be there in a second." The stormtroopers said in a concerned and shaky tone of voice.

They had no idea what they had just done.
