Chapter Two: The Gruesome Truth
Shots rang out through the house. Lia and Finley jumped from where they were standing to go see where the gunshots were. They both go downstairs to the kitchen and see no one at first but then, they saw an inhumane and gruesome sight. Juliana was lying face first in her own blood.
"Finley, who did this?" Lia said in an agonizing and horrified tone.
"I- I don't know who did it but whoever it was, doesn't want us leaving alive." Finley said in a dark and scared tone of voice.
"You are right. Whoever it is wants us either alive for the government's sake or wants us dead because we are a threat that needs to be neutralized." Lia said in a dark tone.
"Wait, do you have any ideas then Lia?" Questioned Finley as he thinks of a way to escape the house and to a safer place.
"I actually do." Lia says in a confident tone.
Lia and Finley discuss their plan to escape to a safe house that the government knows about. They pack up their things and leave the house they've grown up in for all of their lives for one last time.
Alicia is still mad about not getting the twins when two of her stormtroopers walk into her covered in blood. Too much blood for Alicia's liking.
"And why the hell are you guys covered in so much blood?" Alicia questions in disgust.
"I think we killed the wrong person. It seems like we killed the youngest Logan while searching for the twins, ma'am." The first stormtrooper said in a disappointed tone of voice.
"You did WHAT now!?" Alicia yells in disbelief.
"We might have killed a four-year-old child when we were looking for Lia and Finley Logan." The second stormtrooper said in a disappointed tone.
Alicia Smith has never wanted to kill anyone more than she did with these two stormtroopers. But she kept her composure and just sighed it off. The two stormtroopers were looking nervous because they just killed an innocent child who was in the wrong place at the wrong time. Alicia thinks about what she is going to do with these two murderous, inhumane, and cold-hearted stormtroopers. She finally thinks up a plan for them and it wasn't a good one.
"Alright, I have an idea. You guys are going to be arrested for treason of the regime and for the murder of an innocent four-year-old child." Alicia said in the darkest tone anyone has ever heard from her.
"B-b-but-" Both of the stormtroopers stuttered and stared at her in disbelief.
"My word is final. ADVISOR, GET THESE TREASONOUS PEOPLE OUT OF MY OFFICE!? NOW!?" Alicia yelled and was on the verge of angry tears.
As soon as the advisor took the two stormtroopers away, Alicia started to have a traumatizing flashback from her past of how she became the leader of the regime. She started to have a panic attack because it still traumatizes her and she didn't want to remember the memory of her dead lover. She put herself in the corner and just stares at her desk.
"Why won't these traumatizing memories go away!? I just wanted to live my life and not deal with anything that had to do with politics!?" Alicia cried in frustration. "My life was ruined because of that bastard, William!?"
The flashback was about the final minutes of her lover's life. They were huddling in the dark due to the power being out and the young Alicia was scared for her life. She hugged her lover, Beau, and just cried right into his shirt. He held onto her tightly as a younger William and his group of stormtroopers burst down the door.
"Beau, what's happening!?" A younger Alicia cried in a fearful and panicked tone of voice.
"I don't know but whatever is going to happen, I just want to let you know that I will love you always-" Beau was saying to Alicia but was interrupted by gunfire.
"BEAU!? What the FUCK did you just do!? You bastards!?" Alicia yelled in a panicked and depressed tone of voice.
"Alright, the job is done. Let's go." A younger William said in a monotoned voice.
"Wait, Commander William, what about her? Wasn't she supposed to be killed with that lover of hers?" A stormtrooper questioned William in a confused and concerned tone of voice.
"Well, change of plans, she will become the leader of the regime, whether she likes it or not." William said in a sly and manipulative tone of voice.
He tilted Alicia's chin up and all she did was scowl at him because, she was tired and scared from everything that just occurred a few seconds earlier. William then grabs Alicia by the hand and they leave the house. Alicia looks on in horror and panic for one last time at the house.
Lia and Finley were on their own. They had no one to turn to except for each other and they were still in the midst of grieving their youngest sister and their parents. They were walking in the woods to their safe house when all of a sudden, footsteps started to approach them.
"Who's there?" Lia said in a concerned tone.
"I don't know who you are but, if you don't reveal yourself in five seconds, you will be dealt with by me personally." Finley tried to say in an intimidating tone but failed because he was scared.
"I see you twins, and you will not escape this regime alive." The unknown voice said in the dumbest voice there was for the twins to have heard in their lives.
"Who are you and what do you want with us?" Lia said in a scared and shaky tone of voice.
"I am your worst nightmare, and you will fear this regime." The unknown said mockingly.
The unknown man reveals himself as William Black, the right-hand man of the totalitarian of the Canadian regime Alicia Smith. The twins then start to run away from William due to fear and so they wouldn't get caught.
"STORMTROOPERS, get them. It doesn't matter if they are dead or alive." William said in the darkest tone known to man.
"FINLEY, come on! You cannot be slow because I'm not going to lose you the same way we lost mom, dad, and Juliana!" Lia yells to her twin brother over all of the chaos that is occurring behind them.
"LIA, I'M COMING! DON'T WORRY ABOUT ME!? I'M WORRIED ABOUT YOU!" Finley yells over the screaming of the stormtroopers.
Lia and Finley ran for their lives while the stormtroopers chased after them. They ran and ran until they lost the stormtroopers and rested against a tree to catch their breath. Then, the voice of William Black comes out of the shadows and scares to death. Finley feels a hand on his shoulder and realizes that William has gotten ahold of his shoulder.
"LET GO OF MY FUCKING SHOULDER, YOU CREEP!?" Finley screams in a disgusted and freaked out tone of voice.
"You won't be getting away from us anytime soon, you treasonous piece of shit." William snarls in Finley's face.
"Please get away from me. I -I" Finley stuttered out of sheer panic and fear.
"You will never get away from the regime, you bastard!? Do you NOT get it yet!?" William yells in Finley's face making him cower in fear.
Finley realized that he couldn't escape the regime, but he knew Lia could. He knew he needed to give himself up to the regime so that Lia could escape and talk about the evil and corruption that is within the regime.
"Alright. I'll go with you. But it is only for the safety of my twin sister." Finley said defeatedly as he realized that he would most likely be killed the second he walks into Alicia Smith's office for treason against the regime and the country.
"Good choice, boy." William said with a sly smile on his face and it terrified Finley to the point that he was submissive to every order William told him.
A few minutes later, Lia comes out from hiding on a tree branch. She witnessed everything that happened to her brother. She thinks up a plan that can either go the way she wants it to, or it can go deadly, and it can risk her life in ways she wouldn't be able to comprehend.
"Okay, I can do that but if it goes wrong, I am screwed." Lia said in a determined tone of voice.
"I don't think you would go with that plan by yourself, little girl." An unknown voice said within the tree line of the words.
"Who on Earth are you and what do you want with me?" Lia questioned in a scared and shaky tone of voice, just like her twin brother Finley.
"I can just say this: I am not your enemy. I'm just here to be with you on your journey to get your twin brother back."
