Amya's idea
After about a fifty minute drive they finally arrived at Aquarium Hotel. For all the fifty minutes on the journey Amya used that time to read and understand the situation which landed the retailer firm into the financial crisis which seems to not be decreasing but getting worse.
The reports stated that the crisis started about two years ago when the firm's popularity started dropping rapidly in the city which it operated in causing it to experience financial challenges which resulted in the laying off of a large number of employees and causing their media selling outlet shops to be closed. The manager Mr. Phillip Sunny says that one of the branch firms of the P.M.E.C's rival Bullet Train Media Expo Company is the one which stole the branch firm's popularity and it even went low to even hire some of the laid off employees whose contracts were terminated because of the financial crisis.
The case seemed tough but Amya was sure that the amazing David Perrington will come up with a brilliant plan to resolve the matter. Amya thought this whilst they entered the lavish Aquarium Hotel build to fit its name the entire interior was filled with glass tanks that were filled with different types of fish swimming around and about.
The manager of the hotel came personally to welcome David and Amya into his hotel. He then asked a waiter to guide them to the special VVIP private booth room in the hotel to conduct the meeting. After settling in the room the waiter asked if the two wanted anything, since it was past lunchtime David ordered orange juice and asked Amya to order something to eat.
At first she denied saying that she was fine although, she did not have anything else since breakfast and her stomach was already complaining. Either way David still insisted that she eat something since
the manager was still yet to arrive because the traffic in his city was tight.
Amya wanted to deny again but a loud growl from her stomach betrayed her that she felt like she should dig a hole and hide inside it because of embarrassment. David lightly chuckled and told the waiter to serve Amya guava juice and baked potatoes sauced with tomato soup. After about ten minutes the waiter came back with the orders, orange juice for David and guava juice and baked potatoes sauced with tomato soup for Amya.
Sometime in between the meal David thought to strike a conversation since there was awkward silence in the room with only the sound of Amya's cutlery movement being heard. "I hope you have read and understood the reports of the crisis which needs to be solved." "Yes," replied Amya. "Good because I will also need your suggestion for a solution in the meeting as well." Said David. Amya immediately froze with the fork with a potato in mid-air she thought that she had misheard what David just said and stammered, "I beg your pardon sir? Yo…u me...an tha...t I hav...e to sugg...est a solution to the problem as w...ell."
"Yes! That's another important job of a personal assistant secretary to also give me ideas to solve problems and create new projects. So you better have come up with a solution also of your own to help solve this problem," replied David and he started typing something on his tablet. Amya wanted to protest because this was too unexpected and that on her first day of the job, she just couldn't do this but she also did not want to complain in fear that the day her dreams got fulfilled they could get crushed again, so she just stuffed the potato into her mouth and kept quiet. As soon as she finished her meal Mr. Sunny arrived and as soon as he greeted them the meeting commenced.
Twenty minutes later the meeting was still in progress. "It seems that Clayton really wants to sink me into the ground but it's not going to happen anytime soon and I am sure that we are going to rise again soon. So what do you suggest we do Miss Cora," David asked Amya.
Amya who was so engrossed in typing the minutes of the meeting for the report on her tablet did not hear what David asked her. "Miss Cora!!" called David again and this time Amya heard him and she faced him and answered, "Yes sir!!" "I was asking you what solution you suggest we should induce in order to bring back our branch firm in Lanesville city's popularity back and solve the financial crisis." Replied David.
At first Amya did not know what to say but after gathering up her wits she said, "Well looking at the situation I think we need to come up with something new and robust. Something like a carnival, people love carnivals and we can get some of the country's popular singers to come and perform at the event. Not only will we raise enough money to revive the firm's treasury but we will display our media casting products and also put small movie shows and adverts which can capture the people's interest and reboot our popularity again in the public so that companies which would want to come and have us cast their advertisements or music and movies would come banging on our firm's door for us to showcase their productions but in order for this to be achieved we should start slow by empowering small celebrity star dreamers to have a shot at achieving their dreams by casting their masterpieces and they will spread our empowering ingenuity in the community causing the public to turn to us again. That's what I suggest sir."
Amya released a long breath after saying these words as if she spoke everything in one breath. After a long moment of dead silence, David claps his hands and applauds Amya for her great idea and they ended up deciding on the things they would need at the carnival and they set the date of the carnival. After making some calls and agreeing on certain things the meeting finally ended and David and Amya headed back to the office. As soon as they arrived David showed Amya her office which was right next to his.
Amya could not hide the awe on her face when she saw her stylish office, it was plastered with white all over, with a glass desk and white chair in the center on top where a high tech computer lay and there was a white wooden cabinet on the right side of the office and a spectacular view of the city outside her windows.
As she was standing dazed with the view outside her window, Stacy entered the office with the official employment contract for Amya to sign and after she signed the contract she then went back home.
