The strange CEO
After sipping some more brandy David then asked, "Why are you here?" at first Amya did not know how to answer this cold question but she then pulled her wits together and answered, "I am here to assist the president of the company in arranging all his schedules for all his office routines like meetings and personal things that help in the business and also representing him in his absence at certain occasions that need his attendance, but most importantly to offer my help in advising him on the type of media projects to put into motion, mostly the ones which benefit the people and spread messages of peace and unity in the world and I will give it my all to help keep the company name on the map." Replied Amya confidently in one breath.
David did not comment but just kept on sipping the brandy and staring at Amya with an aloof and expressionless face. After a few minutes of dead silence, David finally said, "follow me." And finished the last drops of the brandy and kept the glass on the table of the mini bar then walked towards the elevator. Amya followed behind like an obedient puppy who wants to give a good impression to its owner so that it can be given a dog treat. David and Amya took the elevator to the first floor.
Amya thought that David wanted to ask her more questions at another floor but to her unexpected surprise they started heading for the building's exit. Amya wanted to ask what was going on but just like an obedient puppy she still just followed David out of the building. Amya already lost all hope because of the cold way that David was treating her she already thought that the man was escorting her outside in a rude way to show her that she didn't get the job. When they were outside they stood in front of the building and in just a few moments a black limousine pulled up in front of them. A driver wearing a black suit came out of the limousine and went and opened the door for David to enter. David entered the limousine and sat down.
Amya just stood there looking at the unbelievable scene which was unfolding in front of her, she felt her heart sink with the thought that all her hard work and efforts to become the president of P.M.E.C's secretary were drowning in failure in front of her eyes, she felt her eyes sting with tears and she turned to leave back home so that she can go back and drown herself in a pool of tears. Just as she turned to leave David's words stopped her in her tracks, "Are you going to just stand there Miss Cora or are you going to get in?" asked David whilst typing something on his tablet.
Amya still stood there stupefied with the words that David just uttered. Seeing that Amya was still rooted on the same spot without entering the limousine, David turned to look at her and said,"Miss Cora you should know that I hate slow paced secretaries. So you should get into the car fast or consider yourself fired before you even start working." As soon as David finished saying these words Amya quickly entered the limousine and sat opposite facing him. As soon as Amya entered the limousine David instructed the driver to move the car.
David then handed over a brand new tablet and phone to Amya and said, "This tablet contains everything you need to know about my schedules, all my meetings and projects that need to be induced so memorize everything so that you won't make any mistakes. Make sure to make a report of every project and meeting which takes place and don't forget to also save the work inside the office computer. And to also be on the safe side make sure you store all the information on a hard drive in case there is a cyber-attack at the office so that everything will still be recovered. The phone is also for office work I have saved every client, investor and shareholder's contact in that phone also including mine and other important colleagues you will be working with. The phone is strictly for business only and no personal stuff. Understood?" "Yes Mr. Perrington I understand," replied Amya her heart feeling ecstatic over the fact that her dream has come true.
"Good then. So your work starts right now. We are headed to meet one of our retailer branch firm's manager at Aquarium Hotel just at the edge of the city to discuss the reason why the firm's financial crisis is not decreasing but is still on the spike right now."
