Communication Disorder

The first day went well as Hito expected the day to happen, or not he tried to talk to his new friend Shouko Nishimiya after lunch break started.

However, he couldn't as few of his new classmates went and started 'communicating' with her, through letters of course.

As much as he wanted to talk to her, he couldn't because this was his friend's chance of getting another friend other than him.

He wasn't cruel enough to interrupt that, so he decided he should focus on trying to talk with his other classmates, hoping some of them might want to be his friends.

A guy can dream, can he?

Hito knows that if he doesn't make a move, he wouldn't be able to get another friend, it's not like his classmates would come to him and start communicating with him.

Because let's be honest, he wasn't anyone special, his height is average, his face is average, and his intellectual ability is average.

He was the ultimate mob.

But it doesn't really offend it, because it is what it is, not that he could just change that status.

Unless he gains a type of superpower, then he'd stop being the ultimate mod, with power his power he is shall conquer the world with his cursed right hand and says 'bothersom-

Stop, stop!

Hito felt embarrassed for even imagining things like that! He thought he already stopped thinking edgy things like that!

This needs to stop now, Hito focus..!

He took a deep breath and stood up from his seat, eyes wandering around the classroom looking for someone to talk with.

At first, his eyes landed on Hayato for a brief moment, but he shook his head and thought. 'No, it's too high a level for me to try and talk to a social butterfly, not to mention a handsome guy like him.'

Hito knew his limits and with his special ability to read the atmosphere, he knew that he wouldn't be able to fit in Hayato's newly formed group.

Yes, it's not even a few hours since they got to know each other, his classmate already formed a group.

The people who are part of that group are, Hayato, Miura, Hina, Tobe, Hajime, and Yui.

And just like that, the highest social group in class has been formed, a group that he couldn't be part of, because of his average everything.

He became aware of the social ladder, and since middle school, he learned that the hard way.

To walk into that group is equivalent to trying to find trouble for himself, and he was an avid member of avoiding getting into trouble group if possible.

Since the Hayato group was no good, he looked for other classmates to talk with, then he found his target.

It was the girl who only introduced her name, Hito tried to remember her name. 'She's Kawa? Kawasomething? Kawasaki, right! That's her name.'

Taking a deep breath, he approached her direction and noticed that she was eating a cute bento, totally something that he didn't expect from a girl like her.

But then again, he doesn't know her enough to judge, he coughed to gain her attention. "Ahem- That's a cute lunch you got there."

All of a sudden Kawasaki glared in his direction, he couldn't help but flinch at her glare, however, if it was other than Hito who got the same glaring treatment, they would immediately think she was pissed with them interrupting her meal.

But it wasn't the case at all, because of his special ability to read the atmosphere, which he trusted the most right now, he noticed that Kawasaki's glare wasn't hostile or anything remotely similar.

Now that he took a good look at her, she was more confused than pissed.

"Are you…talking to me?" Kawasaki hesitantly asked.

Hito blinked at her question and replied. "Of course, who else would I talk to?"

He added a joking tone, which didn't go badly to his relief.

Kawasaki replied. "Oh..o-oh umm, I didn't think anyone would want to talk to me."

"Really? Why not?" Hito was genuinely confused by her words.

"Because you know…my previous introduction." Kawasaki's expression cringed for a bit.

Now that she mentioned it, she did sound a bit hostile in her previous introduction.

"Oh yeah, that…" Hito smiled wryly.

"Yeah.." Kawasaki replied with a quiet voice.

Then the atmosphere became quite awkward. Both of them couldn't help but think. 'This is awkward…'

Hito decided to break the ice and reintroduced himself. "R-right, I'm Tadano Hitohito by the way…"

"Kawasaki Saki…" Kawasaki mumbled.

"Do you want to be friends? I-i mean if you want to?" Hito felt like he asked her too soon, he was screaming internally thinking that this is a mistake.

No one talked for a while, then after that Kawasaki replied. "S-sure…let's get along.."

And just like that Hito could finally sigh in relief, knowing that he didn't screw up big time, then a smile appeared on his face. "Let's."

Hito gained his second friend for today, Kawasaki Saki, a girl with long pale blue hair who looked like a delinquent, but despite that, she was no doubt a beautiful girl.

And it's something that I wouldn't say out loud.

The lunch break ended and the class resumed, and his mood couldn't have been better, he managed to get not only one but 2 friends!

It wasn't plenty, but it was a start for someone like him who was friendless for a few years now.

He focused on listening to the current subject, however, he noticed that his seatmate dropped her eraser near his desk.

While she may dislike him, he wasn't just going to ignore this, so he picked up her eraser and gave it back to her.

"Here you go." Hito smiled, however his smile became strained as he noticed that she was trembling.

He exclaimed internally. 'Does she hate me that much to the point she's trembling in fury at a single contact with me?!'

"Th-th-Th-th-Th-th-Th-th!" His neighbor tried to say something, but he couldn't understand them.

So he looked away from her direction, he thought that it was best to avoid looking at her directly.

Time quickly passed, and it was already the end of the first day, Hito realized that he fell asleep without him knowing!

He couldn't help but feel embarrassed, it was the first day of school and he fell asleep?!

What the heck!

There was even a tiny drool on his desk! He quickly wipes it with the handkerchief in his pocket.

Suddenly he heard a soft voice beside him.

"Meow~"

His attention shifted toward the source and saw it was his seat who may or may not dislike him.

She noticed him staring and now both of them were looking at each other.

"I…"

Hito felt a feeling of Deja Vu, he knew that this was a repeat of his previous interaction with her this morning.

"Uh..um...I totally didn't hear anything?" Hito wanted to smack his face for that!

All of a sudden Komi's cheeks gained a pink healthy blush.

Quickly standing up from her desk, trying to get away from the class, Hito's mind went into overdrive and started thinking about his previous interaction with her.

And words unconsciously left his mouth. "Komi-san, are you perhaps bad at communicating with others?"

Hito froze from his spot.

Komi froze from her spot.

'What the hell did I just saaaay?!' Hito was screaming loudly inside his head, deeply regretting his words.

Then Komi suddenly said, "H-h-how d-"

She tried to finish her sentence but couldn't, however, Hito got her point, he wasn't wrong about his assumptions, she was indeed bad at communicating!

"I-i see…so you really are bad at communicating?" He asked with a low voice.

Komi nodded and started fidgeting.

Hito suddenly started laughing. "Hahahahaha!"

Komi flinched from his sudden laughing, she didn't expect him to suddenly laugh without warning!

"Hahaha! Sorry, sorry! I-wheeze* I thought you hated me or something!" Hito smiled at her.

Komi's eyes widened and then started to look offended, she shook her head in denial as if saying that his assumptions are ridiculous.

"Yeah, I know that already…I was wrong and honestly, I'm glad that you didn't hate or dislike me." Hito was glad that she didn't dislike him, it was just him overthinking.

Komi shook her head at his words, and then she suddenly walked toward the chalkboard and started writing something.

( I could never hate or dislike you! Unless you did something unforgivable! )

"I know that already, it was just me overthinking things…so I'm guessing I'm the only one who knows that you're bad at communicating?" Hito asked her if he was correct then, her actions from before made all sense.

Komi looked surprised at his words and then nodded.

( Yes…so how did you know? Is it that obvious? )

"Actually, no it's just a wild guess but I'm glad I'm right." Hito didn't know where all of this confidence was coming from, he was literally talking to a very beautiful girl, the most beautiful girl in class.

Maybe it's because of Lumine, she's been living with them for a few days now.

Yeah, it's probably because of her that's why he got used to talking to beautiful girls.

( I see… )

Both of them were silent for a moment before Hito decided to break the ice. "Do you want to talk?"

So the misunderstanding was resolved, and now I spared y'all from unnecessary drama.

Now, this is their first conversation, different from the original which is what I intended, what do you expect? Their interaction would be different after all this was no longer the original, it was AU from the moment Lumine arrived.
