6 Communicating With Komi-san

Komi's eyes widened, she didn't expect him to offer her to talk with him, this was something she didn't think of!

In her life, many tried to talk to her, but she didn't reply to any of them, not because she didn't want to but because she couldn't because of her communication disorder, it isn't a disease mind you, it's just every time she tries to communicate aside from her family, her heart felt like it would burst out of her chest due to nervousness.

That's why she stays mute every time someone tries to communicate with her, she would just stand still waiting for her voice to come out but nothing.

It was her fault, and she always regretted them, however, she couldn't do anything about it, because of her disorder.

Now that someone knew her communication disorder, it would be a lie to say that she wasn't excited talking to them!

This was her chance!

A golden chance for her to gain something she desired, something she dreamed of.

A friend!

Komi knew that she couldn't screw this up, or else she'll deeply regret this for the rest of her life.

Hito smiled at her reply and then said, "Great, so what do you want to talk about?"

Komi's eyes widened, and he swear to God that he could see an imaginary cat's ears above her head.

( Umm…I don't know? )

She looked embarrassed, but her words were understandable as someone who didn't have any experience communicating with others aside from her family, it made sense that she doesn't know what to talk about.

"I see, then let's start talking about our favorite food." A common topic that everyone could ask.

Her eyes lit up and started writing.

( Sweets. )

That's totally normal for girls, most girls had sweet tooth after all.

( What about yours? )

Komi asked with an eager look.

"Well, it's spicy food, the spicier the better," Hito replied honestly.

( Oh, I can't handle spicy dishes. )

Komi said with a frown, it wasn't like she has something against spicy food, it was just her tongue couldn't handle the spice.

Hito shrugs at her answer, he wasn't offended at all, everyone has their likes and dislikes, after all, and he wasn't going to judge.

"Okay, what about favorite drinks?"

( Lemon juice! )

She answered without hesitation, and she did it proudly.

Hito couldn't help but be amused at her actions, he replied. "Mountain Dew for me."

Komi nodded.

"What about your favorite animal?"

( Cat. )

Hito couldn't help but smirk, predictable it was too obvious for him to see.

"Mine's a panda, it's your turn to ask questions Komi-san." Hito had to admit her name rolls off his tongue.

Komi's eyes perked up, and then she started fidgeting then finally she wrote something.

The two of them continued to 'communicate' through the chalkboard, they were talking about a bunch of random things.

And both of them enjoyed each other's company, they had a smile on their faces as they continued to ask questions back and forth.

Eventually, Hito asked a particular question. "Komi-san, tell me what is your dream?"

Komi's eyes widened and she started fidgeting and wrote.

( Promise me, you won't laugh? )

He wasn't sure what it was, but he nodded. "I promise."

Komi sighs in relief and then writes.

( I want to have a hundred friends. )

Then she quickly took a peek at Hito's reaction, seeing that he didn't laugh she sighs in relief knowing that she wasn't going to get laughed at.

Hito smiled at her and replied. "That's a good dream Komi-san."

He swore that he could see her eyes shining at his reply, and she readily agreed with his statement.

"So Komi-san, do you want to be my friend?" Hito said it without any ulterior motives, he was genuinely asking her to be his friend.

However his words made Komi's eyes widen, wider than her previous ones, she was shocked at his unexpected friend request to her.

She never once thought that he'd ask her to be his friend, her heart started beating too fast, she thought that her heart wasn't capable of.

Her face was red as it could be, her eyes suddenly watering for no reason, she quickly looked away from him, as she didn't want him to see her like this.

However, despite her current emotional state, she managed to write a reply.

( Yes, I would love to be your friend. )

And that made Hito smile and said, "Now that you have me, you only need 99 more."

He didn't realize the impact of his words on Komi, she then quickly walked away from their classroom, sprinting she did.

"Komi-san?!" Hito yelped in surprise, not expecting her to leave all of a sudden.

He wondered if he made a mistake in his previous comment.

Outside the classroom,

Komi was sobbing in the corner, not because of sadness but of joy and happiness.

To her, today was simply the happiest day of her life, for the first time in her life she managed to have her first friend.

And crush, however, she didn't realize that yet.

She crouches and hugs her knees, continuing to cry in joy.

Hito didn't meet Komi again that day, and he still wondered if he did something to offend her.

(A/N: We all know that Tadano is dense at the beginning of the story due to his low self-esteem, but we'll eventually get to the point that he isn't.)

If he did, he would apologize to her tomorrow, he was now outside their school entrance and he saw someone unexpected.

"Nishimiya-san?"

Shouko noticed him and started waving in his direction, he approached her and said. "You were waiting for me?"

He quickly took a notebook and a pen from his backpack and repeated his previous question.

Reading that, Shouko smiled and nodded, she too wrote something from her notebook.

Hito smiled at her words and replied.

( It's more than alright! I was hoping to walk with you, but I thought you had forgotten. )

Looking at his notebook, Shouko suddenly pouted angrily at him, and he had to admit it was adorable.

( How could I forget you? You saved my life not to mention my first friend in school! )

Shouko had an offended look on her face, she wasn't the type of person to forget a friend, especially someone who saved her life once.

Hito had a sheepish smile on his face and replied.

( My bad, sorry for saying that, then shall we go? )

Shouko nodded happily, and after that, both of them walked together chatting.

Before Shouko left, she added him in Line, so that they could still talk to each other after school.

Hito went back to his family's house with a smile on his face, today was a great day he managed to get 3 friends.

Not only that, they were all usually out of his league to befriend, but because of their unique circumstances, he managed to befriend them.

Shouko Nishimiya is a cute angel but is deaf, but it only made her more adorable.

Saki Kawasaki looks like a delinquent but is as beautiful and sexy as a model.

Shoko Komi is a girl with a communication disorder but so beautiful to the point where everyone is almost blinded by her presence alone.

Each one of them was beautiful in their own way, and despite befriending them, he still couldn't believe it.

"I thought my day couldn't get any better."

Hito stared at his touchscreen, and in the Line account he had 4 friends in total.

His mom.

His dad.

His sister.

And Nishimiya.

It's kinda sad to look at, but it doesn't matter he'd make sure it would increase in the future.

As he arrived home, he was greeted by his sister and Lumine, bless her soul.

"Onii-chan how's your day?"

"It's amazing," Hito admitted with a weird smile.

"Onii-chan stop smiling, you look creepy." Hitomi was weirded out by his smile.

"I think he looks cute while doing that," Lumine said.

Hitomi quickly snapped her head toward Lumine and said in disbelief. "No way?! You find it rather cute? His smile looks hideous. I mean look at that creeper smile!"

Hito looked a bit offended by his sister's harsh words, but he was thankful for Lumine's kind words, even though she was just being nice.

"But it is cute.." Lumine muttered, however, Hito couldn't hear her.

But Hitomi heard it clearly, she suddenly had a look of realization and smirked mischievously. "Oh..?"

"I'm going to my room for a bit, I'm both physically and mentally tired at today's events, I'll come down later at breakfast." After that Hito went upstairs to his room.

Now only Hitomi and Lumine were left alone.

"So, be honest with me, do you have a crush on onii-chan?"

"Eh?!" Lumine was surprised by her unexpected question.

"Tell me! Do you?" Hitomi urges her to answer.

"T-that's….well you're not completely wrong.." Lumine had a slight pink tint on her cheeks.

"No way! No way! Really?! I can't believe it!" Hitomi was shouting excitedly, she couldn't believe it her brother who is plain average in every possible way managed to gain romantic affection from Lumine, who she considered the most beautiful person that she ever met!

"K-keep your voice down!"

"I will, however, you and I are going to talk about this!" Hitomi then dragged the helpless Lumine from the living room.

Lumine isn't in love with him, she just found him cute, even though he's plain, she wouldn't fall in love that easily, she's like 50000+ years old, and she got more experience than anyone from Hito's planet.

While she's the first heroine to be introduced, she wouldn't be the first one in his harem, because she's no teenager.

Different from Nishimiya, Saki, and Shouko, she's a hard fish to catch.
