He'd targeted me because I was out front alone. He should have noticed something up the moment Ethan chose to leave me wide open. I was in pain, and in a bad mood.
"You missed," I looked back at Ethan.
Now that my wound wasn't exposed anymore the others didn't look so squeamish anymore.
"Let's move," I strode forward.
No one would know at a glance that my entire right arm was down. I couldn't lift it right now so fighting with it was pretty much out of the question. I'd have to fight one handed for the time being. An irritating disadvantage. If someone was feeling particularly observant they'd notice the dip in the middle of my bandage that indicated a good sized missing chunk out of my shoulder.
I frowned to myself as I thought about it. Pain pulsing through my shoulder. The arena was sound proofed so we couldn't hear the commentary of the announcers or the cheers of the crowd. I was the only one who could see them through the projected sky. I didn't care who was watching at the moment.
I would be leaving after this event so it really didn't matter if I made a big impression here. We ran through the destroyed city scape map we were in now. Trying to keep quiet as we looked for a good place to recuperate.
"Stop," I skidded to a stop, "We're too slow. They've already caught up to us."
I snorted as I looked the direction where the other team was coming from. Baron was the one in the lead.
"So he's the second year in charge of them," I raised my left arm.
Ready to launch an attack.
"I'll take Baron," I snapped, "Keep the rest out of my way."
"But your arm," Jax frowned as he tensed for the fight.
"What about it?" My eyes widened as I looked at him with a scary look.
Some of my bloodlust escaping as I stared at the look on his face. He stepped back unconsciously. I wanted to beat Baron to a pulp myself so I couldn't have him getting in my way. Baron rushed forward aiming for me as well. I rushed forward to meet him with an unbelievable amount of speed considering my physical condition.
My senses signaled alarm again.
"Ethan!" I shouted as I turned my head to look back.
Ethan pulled debris together again to create a shield. An explosion went off against Ethan's shield as a fist collided with the right side off my jaw. There was a sharp pop when his fist connected. I used the backward momentum of his fist connecting with my face to change my stance, and swing into a round house kick. Knocking Baron to the side pretty aggressively.
It didn't knock him off of his feet, but it did give me the space that I desperately needed. I slipped the gloves on. Relying heavily on my good arm to get them on. It was a quick kind of awkward. I raised my left arm, and stepped into ready position.
Baron looked at me with a frown. To anyone watching me right now it was obvious that my jaw was broken with how it hung slightly crooked. I snorted angrily as the muscles on the broken side of my face tensed. Pulling my broken jaw back into place with is nasty resounding pop sound. My muscles tensed as I waited for Baron to make his move.
Ethan didn't have directions from me so he didn't bother with pinpoint accuracy. He just picked up a massive chunk of debris, and threw it the direction of the shot. Baron just laughed at me. Which drew my attention back to him.
"Why are you using those now?" he continued laughing, "That right arm of yours is useless, and your jaw is broken. What could those gloves possibly change? You're still going to lose this fight."
"Lose?" I cocked my head like I was confused as my eyebrows shot up, "Calling me a loser? Heard it all before from a hundred different idiots just like you. Orphan. Nobody. Weakling." I straightened out, and started walking towards him, "The world would have been better off if someone as worthless as you had never been born."
Baron pulled his hands up with a smirk. The smirk vanished when I suddenly accelerated. My leg came up for the cheap shot. Aiming for his jewels again. Baron's face scrunched up like he'd just sucked on a lemon as my blow connected.
My leg broke when I made contact with his jewels. His feet came off the ground. The sour look on his face was just anticipation for pain that didn't come. He'd actually managed to harden his special bits before I made contact. I crouched quickly, and grabbed both his ankles with my clawed gloves.
Slicing through the tendons on the back of each of his ankles. When Baron came back down he landed on feet with severed tendons. Pain contorted his face as he dropped to his knees.
"What did you do?" He looked at me with rage, "I thought you couldn't use that arm."
"Couldn't use?" I raised my arm slowly until it was straight out just below chest level.
It started shaking about there, and I was unable to raise my hand any further. A smirk crossing my face as I slashed both of his shoulders. Disabling his arms as well.
"Don't knock out the healer," I snapped as I looked over my shoulder at Jax, "I'd like to be able to use my arm fully again."
I would have healed myself if all these people weren't watching. I grabbed Baron's chin as my leg set itself with two nasty pops. Yanking his face up to look me in the eye. My claws resting on his skin but not digging in.
"Did I tell you about the ability these gloves have yet?" I smiled evilly.
Fear lit Baron's eyes at that statement.
"Yes, that's the look I was looking for," I activated the gloves ability.
Bloodlust, and murderous intent are different. Murderous intent is an ability that is spread around the user, and can be focused on someone. Bloodlust is unable to be focused, and can be triggered by anything that angers someone cabable of killing. It was what frightened Wyatt when he first met Savannah's father.
