Chapter 25: True Mates

There had been too many times over the past few days, few hours when Stella thought her life was in danger. In someone else’s hands. It jumbled her feelings.

She was terrified. Angry. Overwhelmed.

What Bennett was offering her, in that moment. It washed the rest of it away. Wiped it out like it never even happened.

As if her decision were already made, Stella closed her eyes. Let Bennett’s touch carry her away to some safe harbor. A warm place, just for the two of them.

His hands went to the bottom of her sweater. In a single move, the top was up and over her head. Gone to another dimension for all Stella cared. It didn’t take Bennett long to strip her of her jeans either.

Stella lay there on his bed in her underwear and lacey bra. He climbed on top of her, sealed them together from the chest down. Their mouths meeting.

Tongues clashed and stroked. He took hungry possession of her mouth. He moved his hands over the back of her neck, pulling her closer to him.
