Chapter 7: Vengeance never tasted so sweet

Bloyd's POV

Chapter Soundtrack: Dangerous Game by Klergy, BEGINNERS.

I sat on the bare floors of the dungeon, my hands and feet tied in shackles. The dungeon smelled of pee, blood and grimes and the prison guards gave me cold stares whenever I locked gaze at them. They never seemed to be able to read through my expression too. If anything, the expression on my face was the coldest and even with the poor condition of the dungeon and the way they had mistreated me earlier, I refused to let even a small crack of emotion slip through my face. The air of the dungeon was cold and harsh but I did not allow myself to show any sign of weakness even though I shivered inwardly and my teeth grounded together.

If there was one thing I had learned in all my years of training, it was that no one deserved to see my weak and vulnerable side. Most especially not my enemies.

I heard some footsteps walk towards the dungeon and I raised my head to take a look. A tall, broad shouldered figure approached the guards and I saw that it was the Alpha. Alpha Alcot. A descendant of Alpha Tarium and a monster just like his father.

My fingers subconsciously balled in a tight fist, aching to smash them against his face and take my vengeance. But I controlled myself. This wasn't the right time. My time would come.

"Open the gate." His deep, masculine voice ordered and the guards immediately did as commanded. He sounded pissed and angered. It pleased me to push his buttons this way.

Alpha Alcot stepped into the dungeon and the gates closed from behind him. He stopped on his feet when he was only two steps away from me and stared down at me. I locked gaze with him, never breaking off for a single second. His green eyes were the angriest shade I had seen in a very long time.

Slowly, he crouched down and brought his face closer to mine, such that I could see every little, tiny detail of his face. His face was well chiseled and sharp. Almost like the sexiest devil to ever live.

I flinched away when he brought his hand closer to my hair. They were shaggy and scattered all over my face. He paused for a second before reaching for my hair again and parting them aside so he would have a proper look at my face.

This time, I did not back away. I let him see the face of the person who would be the death of him. The face of his nemesis.

"Why did you crash my mating ceremony?" He asked me in a low tone. A tone low and calm, yet deadly. But I refused to let it scare me. Nothing could ever scare me. Not even the thought of death.

I kept mute and refused to give him an answer. He set his jaw and his nose flared a little. It delighted me to see his emotions intensify this way. Almost like the way the thought of killing him pleased me.

"Answer me when I talk to you. Do you understand? Unless you want your neck snapped off this very second. It won't cost me anything to kill you whenever I want."

Oh, really? It was the reverse now?

I blinked my eyes at him and my lips lifted in a smirk.

"What was your question again? I didn't quite get it."

My response seemed to get him more than my silence did. He bit his lip terribly in a way that I reckoned would draw blood.

"What is even your name?"

"Bloyd." I answered him, my eyes dancing in amusement. He seemed to be good at self restraint. I had thought that by now, he would have smashed my head against the wall. Or maybe he was only reserving the pain he would inflict on me for later moments.

"Why are you here?" He asked me again.

"Did you not ask your sister?" My eyes did not break from his for a moment. There was a great degree of fiery in his. If I was an ordinary girl, I was sure I would have died under those murderous glares.

"You crashed my ceremony." He picked his words one by one, with a careful yet intense tone. "You accidentally made yourself my mate. Do you understand the repercussions of what you have done?"

I pouted and faked oblivion even though my eyes made it clear that I knew perfectly well what I had done and was in fact, enjoying watching him in misery.

"You shouldn't be angry over something as petty as that, sir." There was a grin on my face again. "Infact, I believe you should be happy over the twist of events. I am obviously prettier than her. Every man would kill to be with me."

And that was the moment he had enough of me and my talks. The moment I had been waiting for.

He snapped and grabbed me by the neck, wrapping his strong, masculine fingers around my neck and pinning me roughly to the wall behind me. His breath was hitched and his chest heaved visibly as he breathed heavily. He looked like he was going to kill me any second from now.

Regardless of the pain and how I struggled for air, I smiled and then burst into a hysterical laugh. The anger on his face was mixed by a confused one now. I could tell what was going through his mind right this moment.

Who was this girl and why did she seem to derive pleasure in the pain inflicted on her?

I continued to laugh, ignoring my now reddened face and the way I was almost out of air. I laughed so hard that the sides of my eyes wet with tears.

What was so funny? Well, it was the fact that I succeeded in torturing a Tarium. This was only going to be the beginning. I bet with my life.

"Die, you fucking witch." He hissed at me and wrapped his fingers even more tightly around my neck.

"Brother! What are you doing?!" Arabella's alarmed voice rang, interrupting our moment. She ran towards us, the noise from her heels clicking against the floor.

"Brother!" She reached for Alcot's hand and pulled it away. I coughed and gasped for air as Alcot finally released his grip around my neck, all thanks to Arabella.

"Are you trying to kill her?" Arabella asked him with wide, shocked eyes as they both rose, leaving me coughing on the ground.

"You shouldn't have come here." Alcot hissed at his sister, his glares now turned to her.

"If I didn't, you would've killed her. She is only human, brother! The rules have been drawn between werewolves and humans for centuries. We are forbidden from harming them."

"If they stayed clear off our path." Alcot's tone rose and he yelled at her. "This human girl crossed that line. She crossed the boundary and ventured into my pack! She deserves to be killed."

Wait. Were they referring to me as a human girl? They were the most stupid and clueless set of people I had ever met in my entire life.

"Don't harm her, brother. Don't start something you cannot finish." It sounded more like a warning from Arabella than a sisterly advice.

"I will whatever I want, however I please. I do not follow rules, Bella. I make them." He turned to look at me again, his eyes still angry and enraged.

"And this human girl is no exception. She is already dead meat whether the gods like it or not."

He turned on his heels and stormed away. Arabella gave me one last pitiable look before hurrying after Alcot.

I smiled sinisterly to myself. If only they knew they were the dead meats. If only they knew.
