Kaede kicked at Jin Woo's chest, a kick he dodged by stepping backward

Immediately after that, Rimuru stepped on the ground fiercely, making a root in cone shape shoot at his back

but again, he sidestepped, easily avoiding the attack

You may be wondering, why did Jin Woo start this fight? if he wanted to kill Rimuru or Kaede, he would not be playing with them, that's just not his style

the answer is simple, for 2 reasons

1 - There is a LOT you can learn about someone just by seeing their responses to certain situations, and fighting is a pretty commons one

and 2 - To test them

Because in the end, it doesn't matter what Rimuru's or Kaede's intentions are, if they are weaker than Jin Woo, right?

Jin Woo kicked Rimuru in the stomach, causing him to bend, But to no one's surprise, Rimuru's body separated in the part where the kick connected and reconnected right after

'Not being able to use Kamui is such a bummer...' He thought

Jin Woo's eyes had a very subtle glint in them, and he asked

"Your soul... it's a human one

But you are now a monarch, so tell me" He dodged a lightning covered hand of Kaede that passed by where his head was

"What's the difference between a human, and a monarch?" This question doesn't have a right answer, it just has different points of view

Again, a way Jin Woo was using to understand the unique being in front of him

Rimuru punched at Jin Woo, aiming at his stomach, but before he could dodge with minimal movements again, Rimuru's eyes seemed a lot deeper than usual

'There' He thought as he used [Sukunahinoka] to change his size to a minuscule one, immediately going back right after, and while he grew in less than a second, he also pished himself towards Jin Woo

The momentum he build made Jin Woo have to use one of his hands to grab the punch since he wasn't using Ruler's authority all the time

"Tch" Rimuru clicked his tongue as he was pushed back by Jin Woo

"Your answer?" He asked as he kicked Kaede's hand off of the trajectory to pierce his chest with lightning

"Human and monarchs... the only difference is their power

but for us, it's different, no?" Rimuru asked as charged at Jin Woo

"Ohh? continue"

Rimuru jump kicked the place where he predicted Jin Woo was going to dodge Kaede's kick

But to his surprise, Jin Woo moved in the opposite direction

"Nice eyes"

If you look inside Rimuru's eyes, the abyss that resides there will look back at you, having a myriad of different effects

but... that isn't going to work on Jin Woo, or any monarch per see

"I meant that, what defines a human, is something we don't have the right to have, thus we are monsters instead" Rimuru said as he jumped back, avoiding a kick, barely

Kaede also jumped back and raised her right hand, in which a massive golden sword formed, but she quickly compressed it with [Sukunahinoka], Rimuru's (Bonvoyage) idea actually

"What do you think defines humans and we don't have?" Jin Woo asked in a carefree manner, albeit he was paying a bit more attention to Kaede's sword now

"The only thing that is equal to any human...

Is death.

My death was not given to me, even when it was all I wanted, all I deserved, and all I could get

and like so, I became a monster instead" Rimuru said, extending his hand and turning it into a wooden giant fist (Hashirama could turn his body into wood)

With a horizontal slash From Kaede, making Jin Woo dodge by ducking, Rimuru punched in his direction with a lot of power behind his punch

Again, Jin Woo had to use his hand to block it, he could dodge if he used mana to amplify his speed, but he felt it wasn't necessary

"You are saying, that you had a near-death experience and that turned you into a monster?" Jin Woo asked intrigued, he is an investigator after all and psychology is a thing he deals with constantly, understanding Rimuru, and by extension, Kaede was becoming more interesting to him

"Heh... wrong"

But to his surprise, or not, Rimuru shook his head, even pausing his attacks for a second

"I turned into one, way before that

this was just a trigger for me to see the change"

"Well, I think that's enough for now" Jin Woo said, raising his hand and immobilizing Kaede with Ruler's authority

In that 'short' exchange, he could deduce a lot of things about this new Monarch...s

One, they are one single person, who was once human

two, they seem to have different personalities, and while he can't tell by their way of speaking, Kaede aimed at only vital areas of his body, while Rimuru didn't

Three, By what Rimuru said, he could deduce that something tragic happened in his life, destroying him emotionally and creating the seed of the Kaede persona, which is just his more cruel side

whatever that may be, it all came to light when He turned into a slime, albeit he wasn't sure how that worked, But he can ask Ashborn when he tells him about the new monarch

But one thing he got right, and that was that none of them had the right to die, because their powers all originated from Ashborn, who has always wished he could die but couldn't

"That's it?" Rimuru asked in a somewhat surprised manner, albeit he didn't think Jin Woo would kill them without reason, he thought it was kinda meaningless to have such a short fight...

But at the same time, he was happy that he didn't lose, technically...

"I just came here to check on the new monarch, things like this are relatively important, you see"

Rimuru nodded in understanding, he could see why Jin Woo came here, and it apparently was exactly what he thought before

'Well, not like I could even begin to think I would turn into a monarch when all of that happened...'

Still, before Jin Woo went away Rimuru asked him a question... what else would he ask if not a question?

"You know, I am quite new to this monarch thing, so... can you give me some hints?" He asked

That's an obvious move, which makes him able to learn from the strongest monarch alive... well, there are only 4, and 2 of them are Rimuru and Kaede, so...

To Jin Woo, that also sounded good, he could learn their abilities to a deeper level, since he know that, physical strength asides, he saw very little about their true powers

also, he could have a prime spot to study the worst split personality disorder he ever saw, but he couldn't let it obvious that he thought it was a good idea, or his true intentions would be seen through

"I can not look like it, but I am a very busy person, you know?"

"Well, that's kinda obvious... but it would still be very nice if you could help me in some of your free time" Rimuru said, and he was smart enough to say some of your free time because he know how to value someone's free time like no one

"I can see what I can do, but o

no guarantees" He said as he began to sink into his shadow

"Also, I will keep an eye on you if you ever leave this planet" He said in a very serious tone

"I have nothing to fear then, since I don't plan on doing anything bad outside this planet" Rimuru said with a smile as he saw Jin Woo disappear

'Inside this planet though... that's another point'

'Yeah yeah, say whatever Ceres, you can't ruin my mood'

Rimuru was grinning because albeit Jin Woo didn't guarantee anything, he didn't refuse as well, and any training will help him immensely, especially if he manages to see Jin Woo use mana in some other ways

Meanwhile, Kaede was grumpily walking around Uzushio while restoring the place, like before
