"Mommm i'm going to be late for school! Stop messing with the dog now!" A boy says while pouting as his mother is putting more attention on the dog than on him at the moment.

"Sweetie, we have to go to the park with our new dog so they get accustomed with other dogs! He has to go in the car with us!" A mother says politely, she knows that her kid probably won't understand though.

"Mmmm fine! But I want candy later!" The kid negotiates with his secret weapon, A cute pout!

The mom lost this game of chess and agreed to buy him a lollipop for when he came back from school!

"ughhhhhh, my head, my ribs, no my whole body.. Did I die? I definitely feel dead right now.." Aksel thinks to himself as he awakens with the big wolf hammered on top of him!

"System!" Aksel croaks weakly like an elderly man!

"I wonder how close I was to dying.. I must have been unconscious for awhile which probably healed me.. But I did it haha I beat them-" thud! And again the boy passed out, this time during the middle of his words!

6 hours later and the man awakens again. The first thing he does is push the wolf off of him, after some struggle of course.

"Ahhhh I'm at 14 health now, I feel much better! Now let's lea- Ooh what is that book? Vi Lupus? that is an interesting title! Can it be a drop?" The boy says while slowly walking to the beast he just pushed off!

"Hmmm the book is surprisingly heavy, where should I keep it? If this is anything like the games I have played, then hopefully there should be an inventory"

As the word "inventory" left his mouth a blue screen popped up in front of him with ten blank spaces lining up the screen!

"Ah I see, so I have 10 spaces for items. Now, how do I put this item in? Maybe if I just will it enough?" Aksel speaks causing the book to suddenly disappear from his hands and pop into the inventory slot!

"Now how do I take the book out? Maybe the same as when I put it in?" The book appeared back into his hands!

'Okay now that I have an understanding of my inventory I am ready for my next endeavor!'

'My first order of business! Eat!' Aksel buys the basic steak from the shop, using up 4 of his coins leaving him having 5 left.

Poof! After his purchase, a card magically popped up right in front of him with the picture of a steak on it!

He picks it up with the intent of eating the steak but he is confused with how to summon it out of the card!

He decides to throw the card in front of him, and as the card hit the ground, a big dramatic puff of smoke emerged, within the smoke was a plate of steak with a fork on the plate!

'I guess this is it, I wonder what it will taste like..' Aksel thinks as he brings the steak to his lips!

The starved man takes a big bite out of the basic cooked steak, and he notices the distinct lack of flavor in the chewy meat! It's like chewing on gum after it has lost its flavor!

Aksel though he thinks it bland, devours the whole steak in a minute. Hunger is the best spice!

'ahhh what a good lunch, I still need more food, I need to look for supplies!' Aksel speaks in his mind to himself, making a mental chart of the locations that could have food nearby!

'Hmmm before I go out for food, let me check out what this book is!' And he popped the book out of his inventory!

'Maybe it will give me a skill once I open it!' Aksel greedily thinks!

Thwip! He opens it to the first page and BEHOLD! Nothing happened…

'There goes my grand hope of a skill after my enormous struggle, well I might as well read this..' "Tome of the wolf, the art of being a hunter, of tracking your prey and outlasting them in stamina, of conditioning your body and fangs to be able to bring down the fiercest of beasts!"

'Hm, this could be better than I expected..It looks like for beginners there are 2 different modes of usage.. 2 legged and four legged! Hmm four legged seems harder since It doesn't seem like I can use weapons at all, which I don't plan on fighting bare handed for awhile..'

"Two legged style will keep you light on your toes, enjoying some of the benefits of the full wolf style, but not to the extent of four legged! the first step in this style is to hunch over slightly, so that you're almost falling, and then you use the front ball of your foot and your toes to push off the ground."

'Those are interesting instructions, seems slightly complicated for the absolute beginner method of this style.. but let me try this!'

'Come on… I got it this time!' In the bloody hospital room, there is a boy celebrating being able to do the first technique of his 'skillbook' after failing time and again!

Aksel hears in his head, "Skill learned, Wolf conditioning, level one". and he smirks after seeing his work be repaid.

'Phew, that was tiresome! Time to leave this hospital and find supplies!' he thinks and starts walking towards the exit of the hospitals, reaching it within seconds. He twists the handle with his blood soaked hands and..

"Woah what the hell-those are goblins and zombies…" What he sees are 3 goblins with rusty spears with one being the leader using a glowing skill on his spear which is killing multiple zombies with each strike made!

'there is at least twenty zombies, I need to get out of here quick before the fight ends. This is my chance to go to my favorite grocery store that was just down the street! Though I would love to see more of that skill..'

Aksel quickly sneaks away from the fight towards the west of the hospital. He has it by memory that the trip from the hospital to the grocery store is 1 and a half miles!

Everything is going smoothly as Aksel dodges zombies and goblins that he finds within the city, that is until he got ambushed by two plain, slightly bigger than normal wolves right in front of the grocery store!

'"Haaaa, you guys are nothing compared to the wolves that I just had to fight, bring it on!" He challenges both his enemies while holding the wolf fang out!

The two wolves go for a pincer attack, one attacking from the left, and the other from the right. By instinct, Aksel decided to run towards the one on the left, dodging away from the right one and turning it into a one on one fight for the seconds he has made himself.

The wolf clearly did not expect that, and as Aksel approached head on with him, he attempted to stop and turn around, but alas it is too late for him. The fang that Aksel is carrying gets lodged through the back of the wolves neck, instantly killing it!

"Damn that will be hard to get used to" He says as he turns to the other wolf that is racing at the bits to bite off his neck!

"You're NEXT!" He screams out loud while sliding under the wolf that jumped to bite him, stabbing into the wolf's body multiple times!

"That was definitely easier than my last fights, but why were my first enemies so much stronger and different than these wolves..? I will have to experiment.. Also note to self, don't scream like a fool in the middle of the apocalypse. I don't want to die an early death while trying to be the protagonist!" After he says this, he walks into the grocery store, only to be dismayed by the empty shelves inside!

''Man they really looted this whole place…Hopefully none of Xilo's grocery store regular attendees came here.." Aksel smirks while climbing on top of the high shelves!

'Xilo always loved to hide his favorite items up here, though I never really understood why..' And as Aksel expected, there was supplies galore. Chips, cookies, Jerky, candy, Drinks! All the food he could need for the moment, so he grabbed some bags off the floor and picked up everything he can see and fit into the bags.

'I wonder if I can put these bags full of items into my inventory..'

Aksel leaves the grocery store holding nothing but the fang in his hands! Inside his inventory are 6 bags stuffed full of food and drink.

"Now that I have supplies, I need to find civilization. There is a chance that my sister can be safe living in a post apocalyptic city or something… I should start trying to find high ground or someplace where I can look around.. Before that though my clothes stink, I need to have spare clothes ready so I don't get sick..
