Her Cruel Fate

"What do you think must have happened to her?"

Dom worriedly asked inspecting the unconscious and bony structure of the girl who collapsed at our doorstep this morning through the hospital door.

"Why don't we wait to find out from the doctors Dom" I retorted giving him my best glare as I turned to Diane. Honestly she's making me worried, ever since her friend came unannounced on our doorstep and collapsed looking beaten and battered She hadn't moved a muscle.

"Do you think she'll be alright? Ann I mean"

"Of course she will….., she's just in shock is all" I think I'm mostly comforting myself since I'm torn in how to comfort her. She just looks like her soul had left her body and she has nothing to live for more anymore.

"Micah! How's she? Has she said anything yet?" Adonis asked walking in to come stand next to me and seeing that worried look in his eyes for Dianne just made me all the more torn and jealous.

I know he cares for her more than he lets on but I do hope he stays away from her, she's too good for him and his evils.

"Did you find out what happened to the girl already and where's Jake" I asked half-heartedly, I honestly couldn't care less same as Adonis, this is supposed to be taken care of by the university but seeing as Diane Cares a lot for this girl, I'll do my best to make sure she gets well and hearty.

"We haven't found anything yet and Jake refused to come back unless he gets to the bottom of whatever happened to Sarah. I haven't seen him like this since his sister went missing, he must really like this one"

"Oh I deployed the shadows to help him on his findings but I'm pretty sure it has to do with a gang member or worse" His jaw was already ticking by now just thinking about which rival gang it was.

Truly, Jake lost his cool just seeing an unconscious Sarah on our doorstep, I wonder what's going on between the both of them, last time I checked they hated each other to the core.

Flashback

When she showed up to our door and collapsed in a second, Dom immediately caught her and took her into the living room laying her on the couch and even then it seemed like she would break at any moment, she was that fragile.

"W-what happened to her? Tell me what happened to her!!" Jake furiously screamed shoving Dom while coming to kneel before her smoothing down her brown hair.

"S-sarah open your eyes please, please bella, who did this to you?"

"GOSH!!! I promise to find whoever did this to you bella and make him or her pay for even laying a single hand on your hair."

He was already shedding tears at the horrific sight of a brutally beaten and starved Sarah before him. Standing up he made his way towards Diane grabbing her by her arms.

"Tell me what happened to her Diane. You said she was fine and she only went to see her parent for a short period. So how come this happened? TELL ME!!!" He screamed all the while aggressively shaking an unresponsive Diane.

She still seemed to be in shock seeing her friend in this state as silent tears made way out of her eyes.

"Isn't she your friend? Huh Diane? Tell me! Isn't she? L-look, just look what they've done to my sweet bella"

"Let her be Jake, she has nothing to do with this" I said not liking the way he kept screaming at her and gabbing her.

"What will you do lover boy huh? What will you fuc-"

*POW!*

Adonis landed a huge punch square in his face perhaps breaking jakes nose in the process. I wish I was the one who did it though.

"Don't ever lay your hands on her again unless you have no need for them anymore" But that alone didn't stop Jake as he landed his own punch to Adonis, which caused him to almost be beaten to death if Zeke hadn't stepped in.

"Stop this you two, now is not the time to be fighting instead you two go out and find the culprit, I believe with Adonis help and connections you can be able to find the culprit faster Jake"

"Meanwhile I'll call an ambulance over here ASAP. Has anyone seen Hudson? You know what? Never-mind, let's get this over with already" Trust Ezekiel to be able to handle any situation no matter how tough.

Flashback Ends

"Mr. Calisto?" I woke up from reverie when I heard the doctor calling out to me causing everyone to pay close attention to her.

"Please see me in my office Mr. Calisto it's urgent" but before I could get a move on or respond Dianne jumped in with what little strength she had.

"Where's Sarah? Is she fine? Please tell me she's fine? I..i need to see her, take me to her…. Take me to her please, p..please" she wailed holding onto the doctor's sleeves. It pained me a lot seeing her in this state. I tried stepping in to comfort her this time but as always Adonis beat me to it, I didn't mind it this time as long as she was in safe hands.

"Calm down love, Micah is going to find that out in the doctor's office. Sshush…. Don't cry now my angel, save your strength I'm sure your friend is fine." He practically hugged her in his arms as she wailed her heart out while he whispered sweet nothings into her ears hoping to calm her down.

"Uhm doctor can we…?"

"Sure we can"

I honestly didn't think I could take any more of the torture happening right in front me and I am sure Dom noticed the turmoil going on in my heart probably from my facial expression because he immediately gave me a quick squeeze on my shoulder as I made my way to the doctor's office.

"Take a seat sir"

"Ah please call me Micah, just Micah" I said taking my seat. Her office wasn't anything complex, there was a waiting area just behind where I sat, a hospital bed just by the left side of the wall covered by a curtain, there were wall cabinets behind her where she kept files obviously, a water dispenser close to her office desk where we sat now.

"I'm going to go straight to the point Micah rather than beat about the bush" she seemed rather serious making me put all my focus in whatever she was about to say.

"My patient Miss. Sarah Ashton is in a very critical condition; I have seen worse as a doctor but this is by far the most heartbreaking Mr. Calisto"

"What's the situation doctor?"

"For the past three weeks she has been starved of water and food, not only that most of the bones in her body seems to have been distorted due to the severe beatings she's received, her vital organs thank God seems to be ok but we don't know for how long before they start failing. She also seems to have been sexually abused a number of times. Her skull appears to have been cracked open a little probably due to the kicks she received or maybe use of a weapon, we would have to do an emergency surgery on her as soon as possible because the worst part of it all is she seems to have given up, her body is failing fast, given her condition she probably wouldn't make it before the day ends."

Shocked would be an understatement of what I was feeling right now. How can anybody go through such monstrosity? What in the world did she do to deserve this cruel fate?

"Doctor please do whatever it is you can to save her life" I begged.

"Does she have parents? Or any relations? We're going to need their signature before commencing on any surgical operation." What the-

"You can have mine doc. Her mother isn't alive and her dad has been missing ever since she was found from the information I gathered. We don't know any other relation as of yet."

"Sigh, that is really unfortunate but even though it's not appropriate I will have to make do with yours as someone of high importance sir"

"Thank you so much doctor but I'd like to make a request"

"Sure ask away"

"If you're able to take her away from danger, I'd like for her to be flown immediately to my family's private hospital" It took some time for her to answer as she pondered on it making me a little nervous.

"We can make that happen sir but our first priority now is seeing to our patients' health"

Making my way out the doctor's office in a somber mood, I was immediately greeted with Jake's worried face which made me all the more worried on how to break the news, what is he even doing here? Isn't he supposed to be tracking down the people involved in hurting Sarah?

Atleast Diane's sleeping form on Adonis shoulder is one less thing to worry about, she probably cried herself to sleep. 'Ugh this isn't about Ann Micah!' I mentally scolded myself.

Just thinking about Sarah's predicament and how to break the news made me all the more somber and angry. Just Great!
