Sword and Darkness

Ethan ignored the demon's roar, his focus entirely on controlling the energy flowing through his right hand, which coursed through his entire body. With the need to ensure that his attacks couldn't be healed, the light energy emanating from his body caused particles of light to appear around him.

Ethan's speed was supernatural; no one could believe they were witnessing such a supernatural battle and remaining unharmed. However, knowing that if he didn't have the ability to eliminate the entity, everyone would die, they steeled themselves.

As Ethan advanced, the furious Slenderman did the same, but his speed was nothing extraordinary without his teleportation. Compared to Ethan, Slenderman seemed to lack any speed beyond that of a normal human.

At that moment, a shocking scene occurred. As if the demon sensed something was wrong with Ethan's attack, he abruptly stopped, searching for something around him. When he spotted a fallen tree trunk nearby, he sent it hurtling towards Ethan with a wave of his hand.

Boom!

Ethan, who was solely focused on piercing Slenderman's body, was struck on the side, sent flying, and rolled several times before coming to a stop.

"Hold the dark entity, fire!"

The soldiers, seeing this, felt their blood run cold. All of them, positioned on a secure perimeter, began firing at Slenderman.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

"Ahhhhh!!!"

Slenderman, repeating his earlier actions, waved his hand, and another tree trunk, seemingly controlled by telekinesis, smashed into some soldiers, causing them to cease fire.

"Die!" Slenderman roared, but at that moment, he glanced toward where Ethan had fallen, only to see that he was no longer there.

"Where are you?"

Suddenly, shrouded in darkness, Ethan appeared behind Slenderman like a ghost, and wielding his sword, he attacked vertically, aiming to slice his enemy in half. However, using telekinesis, Slenderman deflected the powerful attack, causing his left arm to be severed.

"Hmm…" Ethan grunted, and shifting his attack, he drove his right leg into Slenderman's stomach.

Boom!

The powerful blow sent Slenderman flying like a meteor, crashing through several tree trunks. Not finished yet, Ethan waved his hand, sending two dark blades shooting toward where Slenderman had landed.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

The abnormal explosions were also due to the soldiers using grenades to buy time for the others to regroup.

Only then did Ethan have a moment to wipe the blood from his forehead. He could feel several ribs in his body were broken, and his whole body screamed in pain.

"You are fascinating. I wonder how you've acquired all that power, being just a mere human." Slenderman's voice echoed from the distance, and as if he hadn't taken any damage apart from his severed left arm, he slowly emerged.

A few meters away, Ethan wore a serious expression. He didn't want to engage in conversation with a monster, so he raised his sword, but this time, traces of darkness and light flickered across his body.

Without a word, Ethan once again charged at Slenderman, and at that moment, the surroundings seemed to slow down.

Slenderman, as if unaffected by Ethan's attack, also unleashed his full power without restraint. Darkness surged from his body, attempting to play with Ethan's mind, but he discovered that Ethan had powerful defenses.

"Return to the place you came from!"

The soldiers around them, who were still recovering from the shock, couldn't understand how Ethan had returned to the battlefield so quickly, but it didn't matter to them. They all believed that no one but Ethan could eliminate the demon before them.

Roarrrrr!!!

Drawing once more from the dark energy within him, Slenderman didn't hold back, using large reserves of his power to make his attacks effective. The red shadow before him seemed to shift now and then, but he paid it no mind.

With a quick incantation, Ethan even cut through the air with his sword.

From the surroundings, worried glances were cast as doubts lingered about whether they would succeed tonight. Many had died, and more were expected to die if they couldn't contain the dark entity here.

The speed at which the two figures were fighting was astonishingly fast, and very few could see what was happening, as it appeared as though light darkness and more intense darkness were clashing from their perspectives.

Boom!

At that moment, a loud sound reverberated, causing even the trees to shake. The fox's firm power of darkness shattered the demon's darkness, and those who still remained conscious could only see a flash of light before the two forces collided.

Within that darkness, Ethan was unleashing powerful attacks against Slenderman, who seemed much stronger than he had anticipated.

At that moment, Ethan found himself surrounded by darkness, but he could still see his target, so he slashed forward.

The distance was still too great, and Slenderman seemed to have dodged his attack well, so he only managed to cut his chest. However, Ethan didn't emerge unscathed from this attack, as, out of nowhere, a trunk flew toward his head, intending to slash his face.

Crack!

Dodging the attack, Ethan received a vicious cut that narrowly missed taking out his left eye. However, his field of vision was impaired as he struggled to keep his eye open, with blood filling half of his sight with a red hue.

But under his control, the sword in his hand shifted position, aiming to pierce the demon's heart and finally end its life.

Boom!

But using his telekinesis, Slenderman stopped Ethan's sword from advancing further, pushing back his attacker, who was about to finish him off.

Slenderman had managed to evade a few times, but this time, Ethan wouldn't give him the chance, so as he retreated, he drew his gun and fired several shots, aiming for Slenderman's head as he retreated into the darkness.

Emerging from the darkness, Ethan shouted, "Everyone, fire!"

All the soldiers, who had been on alert, immediately began firing into the dark shroud. The flashes from their shots illuminated the surroundings, and Ethan, knowing there was no escape as the entire underground parking lot was a barrier, felt a sense of calm.

But that calm was shattered when he heard a voice: "Hallie, where are you?"
