What just happened ? She was hurt and scared to be around him and now she wants me to find him immediately ? What is going on ?

Anyways I have to find my brother. I'll just ask Daniel and Steve to go find him. I know it's an impossible task to find him without his consent !

But Steve knows his probable hiding palaces.

" You stay right here, I'll be back. "

I said to her.

I left her in her room and went to find Steve. I know he doesn't adore Kevin; but he'll go for me.

Daniel won't listen to me; but he'll go for his brother. They always have each other's back.

" Steve ? Are you there ? "

I called for him.

" Yeah, come in. "

Steve said.

" Hello. "

I greeted him.

" What brings you here ? "

Steve asked cocking his head doubtfully.

" I won't lie to you. I need a favor ! "

I said coming straight to the point.

" To find your brother ! "

Steve said telling me my favor I was ask him.

" How... "

I was surprised to listen it from him.

" I live in the same house and not eavesdropping; but I can hear things ! "

Steve said intending to highlight, him being a vampire with high listening abilities.

" I can totally relate. Now, that you know the problem, would you please help me ? "

I asked him.

" He won't ! "

Daniel said entering his room.

" Excuse me ? "

I said surprised.

" You heard me ! He won't ! "

Daniel repeated himself crossing his arms.

" Daniel... "

Steve said trying to make his brother stop from saying anything.

" Shut up ! "

Daniel stopped him instead.

" What had Kevin done for us besides letting us live here ? He is always on our back ! He never leaves any opportunity to try to hurt us. So, tell me just one good reason, why we should find him ? "

Daniel asked raising his eyebrows.

" Whatever you just said is totally true but please find him. Not for me, at least do it for Amber ! "

I said almost pleading them.

" Same question, why ? "

Daniel said shrugging.

" She haven't been any trouble to you. She may not be your friend; but isn't your enemy either ! Please, for her help me find him ! Steve, you know where he could be, please ! "

I said pleading him.

" Ok, I'll help you. "

Steve said getting up from his chair.

" Are you out of your mind ? Why just would you do that ? Every time I say no and you approve it ! Can't you respect your elder brother just for once ? "

Daniel said getting frustrated.

" You two are like my elder brothers, please won't you do it for your little sister ? "

Amber said entering the room.

" Since when we are brothers and sister ? When did we became siblings ? "

Daniel asked raising his eyebrows.

" We can be ! "

Amber said softly.

" Just because you want us to do something for you, isn't it ? "

Daniel said smirking sarcastically.

" No. Not at all ! I have been living here for months now, none of you have tried to kill me or hurt me !

I wanted to talk to you guys for so long but you are never home; when I am awake ! We can start now. Please don't be mean. "

Amber said getting impatient.

" We won't, don't worry ! And no, we don't want any sister in our life. But don't worry, I'll go find him. And Daniel, you are gonna join me ! "

Steve told him.

" No, I am not ! "

Daniel said.

" Ethan, he won't trust us if, we told him Amber is looking for him. "

Steve said the obvious.

" Who is 'US' with you ? "

Daniel asked making faces.

" Video call Amber and let her speak, so he won't feel it's my trick to get him back home ! "

I said.

" Ok. So, it's decided ! Let's go Daniel. "

Steve said without looking at him.

" I am not going with you ! "

Daniel said crossing his arms like an stubborn child.

" As you wish. If, he rippes my throat out, you will be responsible for my death ! Bye... "

Steve said teasing and provoking him.

" Drama queen ! Coming ! "

Daniel said rolling his eyes and shaking his head giving up on his fake anger.

Finally they went to find him.

Amber is so nervous and looking so uneasy. I tried to cheer her up but failed miserably ! She won't eat, drink anything or even talk to me !

I won't lie but it hurts me the way she changed her behavior towards me like in a moment.

I wonder, what made her do it ?

After some time, Daniel called me.

" Ethan, we can sense him here, just can't spot the exact location. Get her on the video call ! "

Daniel said.

I went to her room and told her that, Steve almost found him, he isn't ready to believe him so, she need to talk to him. She beamed and I video called him.

" Kevin ? Kevin ? Where are you ? "

Amber said impatiently.

She started searching eagerly on the screen. As if, she could spot him in the dark !

" Kevin, please come back ! I am sorry for the way I reacted ! I am sorry, please come back. Please don't turn your back on me like this. I am waiting for you, don't... please... "

Amber said getting emotional.

She couldn't say anything anymore, she started crying !

Within seconds, Kevin was on screen.

" Amber, please don't cry. I am coming, love. Please don't cry ! "

He said assuringly.

She just nodded and he vanished form the screen. I bet he is running back as fast as he could !

When he will return, she'll again keep distance from me. Only for today, she was only talking to me, spending time with me.

But from now on, she'll do that only with Kevin !

I shouldn't be selfish. She already had confessed her love to him and so did he ! I can't come between them.

Just remember Ethan, your brother is happy after like centuries, you have no right to ruine anything for him !

But I can't lie to myself ! I am feeling bad that, she wants him and not me !

I know this is way more than being selfish but it is what it is ! Before she starts keeping distance from me, I'll keep my distance from her to feel less miserable.

I should find someone to distract me from her and let Kevin be happy.

I convinced myself and left her room and went on hunting.
