Chapter 02: After school

After school, Amelia mustered up the courage and went looking for him. (If I remember correctly his name must be Lucas.)

She didn't have a lot of contact with him. It was always his letters through which she had any type of contact with him. Her impression of him was a loner with no friends and a little strange.

After searching for a while she saw sitting on a bench alone. (Finally found him.)

Lucas was sitting while reading a book but the whole picture was so beautiful. His long brown hair that covered his face was fluttering with the air. His hands were very beautiful his long fingers that were turning the pages of the book. The whole scenery was very peaceful.

He was an unpolished piece of jade. Well, this was becoming more interesting. She cleared her throat to get his attention "You are really hard to find, Lucas right." She smiled at him it made her face glow the afternoon sun made her look ethereal, like a person who you would want to protect and cage her so she only belongs to you.

He looked at the girl who was like an angel in a daze. With his heart beating fast it felt as if it would come out of his chest he stuttered "A-Amelia w-what brings you here."

Looking at him so flustered she found him cute, she chuckled making him almost lose his soul.

She said "I want your help but you can refuse if you want. No pressure." After all, what she was about to say was quite shameless and she didn't know what else to do. She wasn't good at flirting.

"Sure, I'd help." He had been waiting for this moment all morning. Even though he knew some of his actions had made her think that he was some kind of pervert but he just want to open her eyes. So, she doesn't get hurt.

Seeing him so eager to help she felt a little flustered and was founding it a little difficult to get the words out of her chest taking a deep breath.

She said "You know that I broke up with Liam. So I want to get back at him for cheating so can you pretend to be my boyfriend just for a month?"

After saying it she knew that no one would believe her nonsense and in her heart, she was scolding herself (You idiot, did you have nothing else to say. God that was the lamest excuse.)

She couldn't even look him in the eye. While peeking at him she said in a low voice "I know it is an awkward request but...um let's forget about it pretend I never said anything."

She couldn't take the embarrassment after the weird thing she said. All she wanted to do was dig a hole and bury herself and never come out of it.

Just as she turned around her hand was held by Lucas. After bracing herself for the rejection she faced. He looked solemnly at her thinking very deeply about it and he opened his mouth " Fine, I agree with your request so, please take care of me."

Half of his face was covered by his hair and his smile made him look a bit stupid but cute at the same time. (What is wrong with me how can I find this dork cute? I need to get m eyes checked.)

"Thank you, for helping me," said Amelia

"hmm"

The next day

As Amelia walked through the hallway, some students were whispering about her.

Student 1: "You know she got dumped by Liam."

Student 2: "What! but weren't they like dating for two years?"

Student 1: "Huh, well Ashley won Liam's heart in the end. You might not know but those two liked each other for a long time because of Amelia they had to separate."

Student 2: "You mean she threatened them."

Student 1: "Yep, she is nothing but a slut."

Student 2: "You really can't judge a book by its color."

"And who are you to judge my character," said Amelia completely enraged by their word. They called her a slut when it was Liam who had cheated on her and Ashely knew they were dating the whole school knew but instead of calling her a slut. They said she was one what a joke.

The students were frightened and started to retort "No, we didn't mean it" "It's time for class we will be leaving." just as she was about to scold them Ashely appeared she looked at Amelia with a bright and politely said, "Hello Amelia, you know they didn't mean it."

"But you guys can't talk about someone behind their backs it's rude," said Amelia the students apologized profusely and ran away. Soon the bell rang and when Ashely was about to leave.

"Ashely, I need to talk meet me at the cafeteria," said Amelia

"Okay, I also want to talk to you."

Before entering the class Amelia bumped into Lucas. He looked at her and said, "You need to be careful."

"What's there to be cautious about," said Amelia, looking at his serious expression she felt a little funny after all they were going to talk not fight it made her laugh a bit. "Alright, I will listen to you, boyfriend." She teased him and ran happily to class.

Leaving behind, the poor flustered Lucas who was stuck in one place. (S-She called me boyfriend ahhh. (^///^))

In the cafeteria

Amelia was walking when she saw Liam and Ashely being all lovey-dovey but it didn't bother her. She swaggeringly walked up to them when Liam saw her. He put up a protective front as if she was going to beat Ashely.

"Hey, lover boy I am not that free to beat her up. I got manners, not like some people," said Amelia mockingly and gave Ashely a signal through her eyes.

"I will be back," said Ashely

"Ok, but be careful." said Liam
