New Magic

These people were captured by bandits and then sold to a slave trader, who was attacked and killed by some kobolds, and they were taken prisoner again. Since then, their lives were just waiting for death, which could happen at any time, depending on the will of the village leader.

That's what Theo discovered after talking to them a little more, he also explained the details of the survival game in addition to the fact that they would have to live with skeletons every day from then on. It would clearly be a problem for some people, but these people were already somewhat used to strange things and even the undead.

After knowing about all this, he asked a definite question and then a notification appeared in his vision.

[Would you like to accept 4 people as your subordinates?]

     [Yes]   [No]

After clicking yes, Theo can see a new section in the menu showing his subordinates and some basic information about them, such as health, MANA, class, satisfaction, loyalty, and items they owned. Everyone's loyalty started at 60 but was gradually increasing as he told them more about his camp and that they would soon have homes of their own and could choose their jobs.

He then got a huge surprise when he checked the elf girl's life and MANA details, they both had more than 2000 points, which meant that their level was extremely high.

The beastmen's strength stats were an impressive 150 points, and he could use some kind of magic since his energy status was not 0. The human couple were simple people, and did not have a high energy status, being 1 and 2.

Theo then released them from the cell after making sure they wouldn't run away or attack him. His skeleton ranger then came in and called him out, it was time to settle everything here and complete a part of his mission.

He didn't hesitate when he went out and found more than 20 kobolds still alive, trapped in the sights of their skeletons' weapons. He quickly removed his staff from his inventory and hit them all with his spell, the 5 free ones had already ended and all the others cost him 5 Mp per spell. Theo also decided to test his earth wall and realized that it cost 10 Mp per cast and could last up to 2 minutes without taking any damage, and as the damage received its duration was greatly reduced.

Once all the kobolds were killed and his count had reached 20/20, he left the remaining ones to Copper, wanting him to level up and grow quickly. Theo had discovered that the higher the animal's level, the faster it grows and becomes an adult.

His next task was to learn new spells that he would ask the elf girl Alika to teach him, since she should be great at magic considering her status. But he would ask her when they arrived at the camp, with his new subordinates and their unit, plus his inventory, everything here could be taken at once.

He took advantage and collected all the bodies, earning a total of 100 energy stones which were enough to improve the military building, as well as the planting fields. For now these were his priorities, but if new buildings appeared that needed stones he would have to choose which one to improve based on how many he had.

This tribe had a wizard, but he didn't use a staff like the goblins. All he had was a ring that gave him 2 extra MANA points, as well as 10% faster MANA recovery. This would be very useful for Theo, and he equipped it as soon as he found it and checked the details, increasing his amount of MANA was never too much and having a faster recovery speed was great.

He decided before leaving to take a break, so his subordinates could eat some, he quickly made some roast beef steaks. And with this simple gesture, everyone's loyalty rose to 75, from the previous 65, so after that they headed towards the camp and returned home.

Occasionally Theo would notice Alika looking at him and when he looked at her or asked her what the problem was, she always said it was nothing or turned away in shame. After an hour of walking, she decided to finally ask what was bothering her.

"You can use magic, right? What is your elemental affinity?" She asked.

"Yes, as you can see. My affinity is Earth, and my subordinates who are in the camp have an affinity for lightning. Which element do you have an affinity for?" Theo questioned.

"My affinity is with the water element, but I know many spells if you want to learn, I can teach you." She said.

"Great, I would wait until we get to camp to ask you for this, but since it's part of a mission, I think it's good to be able to complete this step quickly." Theo replied.

Then she got a little closer and asked which ones he already knew, and he explained to her that he only knew the earth wall spell, and the stone bullet was from the staff. After learning this, she taught him the stone bullet so that he could use it even without the staff, just reciting the spell with a clear image of what she wanted.

This part was also something important for him to learn, as this way he could test many things that he had seen anime and novel characters do. As well as testing other elements, despite Alika telling him that the cost would be higher for those elements with which he had no affinity.

Of course, that wouldn't stop him, he also questioned her about energy stones with affinity, and she replied that it took a long time to produce one, from months to years. And that some elements were more difficult than others, lightning was the most difficult and also rare, with few mages having this affinity.

The classes and conversations with Alika made the time pass quickly, and soon they were arriving at the camp again. With Theo at the head of the group, the ranger knew he shouldn't shoot without orders from his lord, but that didn't stop him from aiming at the elf girl next to his master.
