C456. River

A neutral voice that was neither masculine or feminine rang through the empty streets of Gerroyian City, snapping Rain out of her daze as she furrowed her brows. Shifting her gaze downwards, towards one of the alleys on the ground.

Her eyes narrowed.

Being a Mage Assassin, there weren't that many people that would be able to get so close to her without being noticed and that number had been further limited when she ascended to become a Demigod.

Even her Foresight had failed to trigger. This told her that the voice's origin was not ordinary. Moreover, as someone with perfect memory, she easily recalled why the voice had sounded familiar to her.

'It's him...'

Rain's hands moved towards the pair of daggers in her waist when the voice suddenly came from behind her. The figure had once again bypassed her monstrous perceptions and had gotten even closer to her unnoticed.

"There's no need to be so on guard. I didn't come here for you."
