Royal Adventurers

An hour after he met with the Royal Adventurers, Kyle finally arrived at Star Tear Village. He wasn't entirely sure what to expect.

They arrived around 5 pm, just barely dinner time.

"Yes, please equip the title Traveller."

Kyle's new friends paid the one silver coin visitors fee. Along the way to the Star Tear Village, he got to know his new friends from The Royal Adventurers.

The hammer man was Hemler, the Lady Knight was Lady Sif Rollins, the hobbit was Gilbor, The mage was Kardiak Melfor, and the Elf was Jewjwin Windcollar.

As they walked through the town, they introduced it to him. They also insisted that he accompany them to their office; which turned out to be the local pub, High on the Hog Tavern.

Almost as soon as they arrived in the tavern, a group of people assaulted the weary adventurers. The first was a very tall Elf woman, Narwina Goldlace. She wore simple wool clothes. A grey dress with a blue undershirt. Her hair fell around her shoulders and was a bright golden color.

She went to Hemler and checked him for injuries. She was Jewjwin's sister and the best healer in the village. "Husband, you have returned home to me," she said gently while smiling lovingly to her husband.

Next, a blond-headed man taller than Hemler, but with blond hair and blue eyes gave Lady Sif Rollins a big bear hug.

He was wearing armor like his sister, but his armor seemed much more sturdy and had intricate tattoo-like fire-red designs all over its silver surface. A red cape hung from his shoulders.

"Sis, you've come back! I had a bad feeling and almost went out to look for you." This man was Lady Rollins older brother Sir Henry Ralph Rollins.

A brood of very small children crashed through the door and ran to Gilbor and surrounded him calling out "Pappa, Pappa, Pappa," it created quite a racket but no one in the Tavern seemed to mind.

This often happened when any of them returned from their adventures outside.

The children were followed by a hobbit woman, Foma.

Foma was a couple of inches shorter than Gilbor, but she was very pretty wearing a dimpled smile and curly auburn hair. Her dress was red with light pink flowers all over it. Her undershirt was a creamy white color.

She didn't say anything. She went to the bar and got a small mug of beer and took it to her husband.

Finally, another elf woman entered the tavern. She had brown hair and emerald eyes.

Her outfit was a sensible green and brown hunter outfit and like Jewjwin she carried a bow and arrows.

She approached Jewjwin and embraced him. This was Jewjwin's wife Gazmina Frumajella

During all of the excitement, no one noticed the Mage Kardiak Melfor disappear.

Kyle finally asked about him and was told he had his own things to do.

"Who is this young man?" Sir Rollins asked.

"This young man saved our lives after a fashion," his sister Lady Sif commented with a happy laugh.

"After a fashion? This sounds like a story, let me buy the first round!" Sir Rollins said.

Once everyone had their drinks, Gilbor, the storyteller of the group, told the story of their epic battle and defeat at the hands of the young G-Hawk.

He also went on to describe how the young hero never bothered about the previous attack, when their lives were in danger. He returned their weapons and told them to flee as he protected their flanks from the wolves that were surrounding them.

Gilbor had a certain charm when he told stories and could make dull things seem marvelous and humorous.

"I can't believe this little guy beat all of you up!" Sir Rollins said as he laughed.

"Why don't you try one of his fists and see how well you fare," a slightly offended Hemler said.

"There's one thing I've been meaning to ask all of you," Kyle asked.

The whole group turned to look at him, understanding he had their attention and permission to asked, Kyle put forth his question.

"Why did you attack me, to begin with?"

It was a simple question but it surprised everyone at first.

Hemler answered sheepishly, "It was your mask, we thought you were one of the bandits in the area."

"Oh," Kyle said but he was still confused. He wasn't given a second to explain himself they just attacked him with all of their might.

"The Bear Droppings Bandit Group is a really fierce group. They have members of all ages and make everyone wear masks so people can't recognize them later.

If you give them half a chance to talk you'll lose your life since they have all kinds of cunning traps and tricks ready to use against you." Jewjwin Windcollar said to Kyle.

It was just as they said, the bandit group was notorious in the village but they had no idea who the leaders or even the members were.

"You don't know their identities?" Kyle asked.

Everyone shook their heads.

"Isn't it obvious?" Kyle asked.

"Isn't what obvious?" Hemler asked.

"If they want to hide their identity from you it's because you know them. If they were strangers why would they hide their identities?"

"We've managed to figure that much out, but it hasn't helped us discover their identity." Sir Rollins said.

"I could figure out their identities easy if someone asked me," Kyle muttered.

"You can reveal their identities?" Gilbor asked in surprise.

<MISSION: UNCOVER THE IDENTITIES OF THE MEMBERS OF THE BEAR DROPPINGS BANDIT GROUP AND CAPTURE THEIR LEADER

REWARDS: 4000 XP, CONCEALMENT SPELL, LEVEL 10 IRON GAUNTLETS>

Kyle was pleasantly surprised, his boasting leads not only to a mission but a mission with such great rewards.

"I can come up with their identities but I will need your help to conduct the search," he said.

"What do you need? I am the commander of the soldiers in the village," Sir Rollins offered.

Kyle smiled shrewdly, "I need the logs the guard gates keep of those coming in and out of the village, dates and times of the attacks, dinner, bath, and a good night's sleep."

The people surrounding him were surprised by his sudden interest in catching the bandits, but most of them experienced first hand his capabilities. They had no reason to doubt he would be able to accomplish his goal.

"Let's get Mr. G-Hawk some food!" Hemler yelled at the man behind the bar.

"I'll get those logs," Sir Rollins said.

"And I'll get those bandits," Kyle said. At last, he would get to use all the skills he learned in his deductive reasoning skills class to find and confront his first villains. Kyle couldn't wait to get started.
