In The Name Of Science

What Saba saw made him a bit baffled. Once cleared area was full of boulders of various sizes and shapes. In the middle of this "Rock formation" sat Sandro using his claws, what looks like a newly made wooden hammer and stone chisel to process stones. Around him, there were a few, a bit thick, stone tablets, but also a small mountain of irregularly shaped broken stones.

"Bruh How did you bring so many boulders here... And they are pretty huge too" - Asked Saba.

"They are not that heavy, try to lift them if you want"

'#Don't forget the deer!#' - Snaky's voice sounded in Saba's head

He was tempted, but he had to deal with spoils and the deer of course.

"Hey, do you have any kind of protected area to place this deer there?" - Saba asked sitting Sandro.

"Not really, we can make that using leftover stones. Let me hold it for you, while you take care of the spoils." - Sandro moved closer to the strangled deer and placed his hand on the deer's neck. - "Okay you can release it"

"Be careful it struggles quite hard" - Saba warned him and got a nod as an answer.

The moment Snaky released deer started to thrash around.. Well, it tried at least. The moment it started movement Sandro slammed the deer's head on the ground with a loud crash.

Boooom!!

Confused and disoriented deer couldn't understand what happened to it. Then its head was lifted in the air and when spinning in its vision calmed down, the deer saw a pair of golden reptilian eyes looking at it with intense gaze and for some reason creature before it seemed to become bigger and bigger until the deer felt like small rodent before behemoth. It started shaking in fear and then the creature voiced something unknown, but it still felt terrifying.

"Listen here you little shit, you will behave as you are told or become dinner, am I clear?" - Sandro voiced it with a growl.

"Goddamn man I told you to hold it not slam poor thing on the ground. I even heard the sound of something cracking! Don't break it" - Saba fumed.

"Why are you shouting? I'm just trying to make it behave" - Sandro asked with confusion.

"Bruh... Hah.. Whatever, give me a sec, I'll put this somewhere" - Saba said with a sigh.

He moved close to Mukha and placed spoils next to random tree stamps temporarily. After it was done Saba looked around. Territory with a radius of 10-15 meters around a huge tree now known as "Mukha" was cleared. From previous tall and majestic trees only stumps were left, rest material was pushed to the sides of the cleared area. Let's say "North" of Mukha (If the sun still rises from the east in this world too) is a great cliff wall and the exact place where Sandro put all the stones and started the initial work to prepare a better path to the base of the cliff. On the "Eastern", and "North-eastern" sides he found water and one relatively wide tree stump became the water container. Brothers hadn't checked "South" yet and they hunted mostly on the west side. Interestingly enough laboratory they left was located southeast of their current base, but when they travelled they hadn't discovered the spring. Most likely spring shifts underground, but checking the end of the water source might be a good idea, who knows what they might find.

Saba sighed and went back to his brother. They had the work to do and try to understand the environment around them and maybe with it, they will understand themselves too.

"I'm done here, where should we make the space for this one" - Saba asked Sandro, who was holding a surprisingly calm deer.

"Let's make it on the south side of camp, we will have better visibility of it too" - He spoke and started to walk south. - "Bring some stones and the other side of the wall will be fallen logs"

"Fine, I'll do it" - Saba moved north and found a sizable, relatively flat stone. - "Okay let's see" - afters small preparation he tried to lift it... and surprisingly stone seemed lighter than he thought. - '# Looks like not only our speed, but our strength is off the charts #' - Snaky remarked.

Saba didn't dally too long and started transporting boulders good enough for the fence. At one point he even moved two at the same time with Snaky's help. In a few minutes, everything was ready, for them to start creating the fence.

"You there wait here for a bit" - Sandro told deer and moved towards one of the stones to examine it. Poor deer didn't even think of running away. Only stood there shaking a bit and waiting for its final judgment. Sandro looked at the stone and then turned it around so that the narrower part faced upwards. He extended his claws and with a quick hack on a select few places stone's already narrow top became sharper and triangular. After he was done he took the stone and shoved it in the ground with considerable strength. The stone sank into the ground till only around a meter and a half was left from the original two.

"# You sure deer won't escape? #" - Snaky asked with concern.

"Nah and even if it does, we can catch it later" - Sandro replied as if it wasn't his problem.

"$Look at that poor thing, I think it got lifetimes' worth of psychological trauma $" - Orochimaru chimed in while Saba was helping his brother with moving, cutting, and placing the stones. Soon they were done.

"Phew!! Wish we had such strength back then, work in the village would be easy-peasy" - Sandro said while he sat on stone close to the fence.

"Bruh, Mother would definitely give us lot more stuff to do if that was the case"

"Nah man we would be like demigods there, even if she gave us more work still we would have done it lot faster"

"# Agree with Sandro #"

"Hey!!! On whose side are you?" - Saba looked Snaky with slanted eyes.

Sandro chuckled a bit on this, stood up, and extended his hand - "Well well well, brother. I think it's time for the best part"

"The Science Part" - Saba also stood up and shook his hand.

"By the way shouldn't we think about clothes?" - Sandro asked suddenly.

"$# No why? #$"

"$ No man, I'm not exactly a fan of that kind of tight space, I even pity your buddy there $" - Orochimaru looked with a concerned gaze at Sandro's pelt, which covered his nether region.

Saba rolled his eyes and said - "Not till I find a more reliable way to control my power"

"Whatever, take this, and let's start" - Sandro took a stone knife from his waist and gave it to Saba.

The boys moved to a clear area not too far from the fence and started dissecting all the animals that Saba had now.

Sometime later...

After a long day sun slowly moved to the west side of Mukha, and everything in the forest shined with warm red and orange. Many animals decided to finish the hunt and move to their lairs. On the other hand, nocturnal animals slowly started to wake up to try their luck to get more resources for themselves and their partners or offspring.

Meanwhile in the cleared area around the wide tree, one could see a glowing humanoid silhouette with a tail walking back and forth with a blooded stone knife in hand, while near it was another humanoid creature that sat on a small stone while holding some kind of stone tablet half of his size. While the creature with a tail talked something while it walked, the second one used its claws to scratch weird signs on the stone tablet.

"So, skeletal structure, internal organs and what I presume blood seems similar for all of previous few samples." - Saba turned around and continued to walk - "We can assume that they are some kind of mammals or equivalent" - He stopped and looked at his brother - "although further observation is necessary to verify similarities".

"Done! Look I made some sketches" - Sandro rotated the tablet to show Saba final result.

The tablet was decorated with medium-sized sketch on top left corner and text after that explaining observations about creatures.

Saba looked carefully at the tablet - "Man your painting skills suck. You missed the proportion of the front muscle by a centimeter or two and look at the antler, it's not accurate.. And what about organs? give it some shadows to make it three-dimensional not just flat lines." - and he complained.

"The hell man? First of all, this is the first thing I painted with this body, and second of all do I look like Leonardo?" - Sandro shot back, clearly a bit pissed off.

"You have ridiculously good body control and let's not say about your strength, plus if that wasn't enough you have clearly sharp eyes of predator with unholy perception of space.. Sooo if you can't even do simple sketch than you are just a talentless hack" - Saba broadened his shoulders and raised his head high, while looking down on Sandro.

"Oh fuck you, anyway It's already getting dark so I'm going to hunt" - Sandro rolled his eyes and moved towards the forest. This time he chose the south-west side.

After Sandro disappeared from view Saba moved to clean up the place and started thinking of how to proceed on base construction.

"$ Was it fukin necessary to fight for a couple of millimeters and shadows? $" - Orochimaru asked confused.

"Of course, if there is an error in depictions then data becomes wrong. Plus I know he half-assed the entire thing!!" - Saba said.

"# Orochimaru is right on this one, we are all adapting and it's not like you have ideal control over your fucking magic...#" - Snaky narrowed his eyes and slithered his tongue.

The moment Saba heard this his expression froze. After a few seconds, he sighed.

"We have lot's of work to do, now we will try to learn how to control it better and after that how to sleep without creating lava baths"

After saying this Saba got to work.
