Sorry to all my exes: Being a slave.

On the most important day of her life, the day when she was supposed to shine the brightest, the day she was supposed to say 'I do', he bailed out. Ennui, despair, forlornness, despondency, distress, pain....name it all, it couldn't amount to what she felt that day. The moment the flower fell from her hand...she realized what was happening. He left her on the altar on their wedding day. All eyes were on her, most were the mocking gazes of females who hated her. One year passed. She was fine now, but she had done some thinking. Was all this happening because it was her punishment? Maybe the heavens were punishing her for what she did to all her previous boyfriends. That was when she decided.... From the very first one she has wronged, she was going to apologize to all of them, meet a new guy, and start afresh. Total of 67 exes. She apologized, but to only 65. The 66th was abroad. She couldn't bear to face the 67th. She had wronged him in the worse way possible. But she still had to face him, to find the closure she needed!. Things further escalates, when she finds out the identity of the man in the park... ... She was the first person he opened up to. Told her secrets no one ever knew. For the first time some one made him feel vulnerable. But what?!. "I just played you, let's break up!" Did she really think that one line would make him forget. The moment he accepted he loved her, that was when she belonged to him and no one else. She must have played with other guys and got away with it, but not him. He would get her back, but not without getting his revenge! *WARNING* THE WORD R***D WILL BE USED A FEW TIMES BUT THE ACTION WON'T BE DESCRIBED.

Before the wedding

"Oh my God! I still can't believe our dear Dionne is getting married"

"To prince charming at that"

"Next tomorrow will be huge!"

Dionne was in the Bridal shop's dressing room. She was trying out her third dress and she couldn't help but smile when she heard what her friends were saying outside. She couldn't believe it either. Her, Dionne, Greenville most feared heart breaker, is getting married. If you told her this 3 years ago, she would have laughed her lungs out. But it's really happening!.

"By the way, where is Christopher?" One of the girls asked.

"I don't know?"

"Maybe he's preparing another surprise" another girl said and they all burst into giggles.

"How do I look?" Dionne stroke a pose for her girlfriends when the curtains were opened.

"I've never seen a bride so beautiful"

"That's why she could play all those boys"

"Christopher will melt at the alter when he sees you"

All three of her friends gushed over her.

Dionne giggled, "I know I've always been pretty, it's not that much of a surprise you guys think that way too" She said proudly as she changed her pose to see different angles of the dress. "We'll take this one" she said to the attendant next to her.

Meanwhile, her friends were flashing her looks of jealousy and anger. They were not in any way happy for her. But they had to put up with it, their reputation was at stake.

Who doesn't know Dionne in Greenville. She was the most popular girl on campus, the most envied among girls. Every one wanted to be Dionne. They wanted the boys eyes to be on them as well.

They couldn't be Dionne, but they could be her friends. Back then, having Dionne talk to you was an achievement, what more being her friend. Being her friends came with perks, but it also has it's own downsides.

You'd have to put up with her narcissistic remarks, her bragging, the amounts of gifts she gets on daily basis from boys which would only make you more jealous. There is no end to the amount of lowered self esteem you'd feel when you stand together with her.

"She thinks she's all that"

"She's not even that pretty"

"I hope she gets dumped at the alter"

The girls resulted to whispering to get some of those heavy negative emotions away from their chests. But Dionne heard it. It was not the first time neither would it be the last, she didn't let it bother her.

"We'll deliver the dress to your home address" The attendant told Dionne to which she nodded to.

"Let's go girls" Dionne said as she walked out while expecting them to follow behind. They could talk all they want, but they'll forever be behind her, like a shadow, waiting for her to cast little light on them so they could be visible. 'Pathetic ingrates'.

"Where are we going now?" Ginny, one of the girls from earlier, held Dionne's arm as she asked. Out of the trio, she hated Dionne the most, yet, here she was being all chummy. Girls!.

"You don't need to come with me. Your job here is done, I'll just drop you off at the intersection" Dionne said without even glancing at her. She had no time for fake bitches. She had a wedding to plan.

"Hey Chris," Dionne smiled widely as she walked on the lonely side walk to the cake shop, the girls weren't with her anymore.

"I don't think I can make it to the cake tasting, maybe you should do it with your friends" A male voice rang out from the phone.

"But you promised. First I tried the wedding gown without you and now I'm going to the cake tasting without you. Marriage involves two people you know" Dionne whined as she flailed her leg aimlessly while she walked.

"I'm so sorry babe, something came up..."

"Ahhh, come to bed Chris, I want more, I'm still so horny" He was interrupted by a female voice.

"Is anyone there with you?!" Dionne asked defensively. She heard a voice, a female voice, but she couldn't hear what she was saying.

"No one. Just a colleague" He lied.

"Alright, make sure you come see me tomorrow okay?"

"Yeah I will, bye!"

"Bye" Dionne let out a heavy sigh. She was doing this one alone again. The only thing Christopher has been a part of in their wedding plans, was when they had to buy the rings, other than that, he was never really present. Just text messages and stuff.

...

"Did you pick the cake?" Dionne was laying on her bed while speaking to her 'future hubby'.

"Yes. I picked a red velvet cake, and your favorite, Genoise Chocolat."

"That's so thoughtful of you" Dionne smiled foolishly when she received his compliment.

"Dionne honey, Dionne!"

"Mum's calling. Talk to you later. Love ya!" Dionne ended the call before she answered, "Yes mum!"

"Come down to the living room honey, we have something for you!"

"What is it mum?" Dionne asked when she got to the living room, "oh Dad!, You're here as well, what's the occasion?."

"Come sit here" her mother patted the table in front of her and her husband. Dionne sat down and her mum held both her hands.

"I can't believe my baby is getting married next tomorrow. It all feels like a dream"

"Mum!" Dionne said when she saw the lone tear that slipped from her mum's eyes.

"It's tears of joy hun, let her be" her father patted her hands.

"After that incident, I thought you'd be scarred for life. You don't know how happy I am to see you get married to man you love." Her mum sobbed harder. She couldn't hold the tears.

"Don't think about the past again. Let your marriage be the start of a new beginning, with your husband and future kids. I know you can be petulant at times, but try to tone it down a little."

"Not you too dad!" Dionne whined and everyone burst out amidst tears. The scene was very heart warming.

"Here, do you see this?" Dionne's mother took out the jewelry box she hid behind her. She opened it and Dionne jaws dropped in surprise.

"It's so beautiful" she praised.

"My mother-in-law gifted me this when I was about to get married to your father. As I have no son, and my future son in-law definitely can't wear jewelries such as this, it now belongs to you."

"I thought this only happened in movies. I never knew we had a family heirloom. I'm sure grandma's mother in-law gifted that to her too"

"Huh! How did you know?" Dionne's father feigned surprise and they burst out laughing again.

"Mum, dad" she looked at them as she said,

"I'll be happy."
