Chapter 2 (Part 3)

The teams went into defensive mode. They rounded and circled team Tierra attacking when one of the teammates stepped out of formation. Idiot. They launched at him tearing him away from his group. All that was left was his gurgled scream as his body was dragged into the bushes. The rest of the groups put up walls blocking the Hyenas from attacking them. Power surged across my skin, and I knew Masha had cloaked us from eyes view. We only had a second to breathe before Kira stepped through the trunk of the tree, startling the hell out of Zaylee. She jumped, nearly slicing Kira in half. Kira stepped to the side, catching Zaylee's wrist as she dodged the attack.

A moment of realization passed over Zaylee's face for a quick second. She yanked her wrist out of Kira's grip. "Move your electric ass next time, and I won't startle you to death." Kira inquired through the line. I did not have to look up at her to know she was giving Zaylee her one kind look. Which consisted of an eyebrow lift and a sinful smirk.

"What the gattle balls, girl?! You can't sneak up on us like that. You could have gotten sliced in half." Zaylee yelled through the link. "She didn't sneak upon us. Just you." Masha's voice came through the bond loud and clear as she chimed in.

Zaylee glanced at her out of the corner of her eye. "Just because you are a scary-ass looking hellion child. Don't mean you can't get cut."

Without a response, Masha just turned to watch the fight below. Her pink lips twitching.

Team Tierra had Team Acqua on the rocks. Literally. Water cannons were being used to block the giant boulders pounding against the new enormous ice wall. Hyenas circled some teams waiting for their chance at an attack. Team Turbo formed a line using their joint skill to launch a tornado toward Team Kaji. Pyre yelled out orders, and for the first time. Team Kaji joined together. They shot fire into the sky, building a fireball. They all yelled in unison, launching their fireballs at the wind tornado.

"Damn, never thought I see the day Team Kaji could actually work together. That Pyre girl might just be a threat." Kira acknowledged.

We all nodded our heads agreeing. The fireball stopped midflight, almost as if it hit a wall. It changed direction, sweeping across the area knocking every member of Team Tierra to the ground. Team Trance busted into the clearing using the fire to trap Team Tierra to the ground. Creating a dome-like structure over their heads. They all huddled in the middle of the circle. Fearing the fire. The Hyenas must have realized that fire was one thing they couldn't come back from because all of them disappeared in the bushes with their tails tucked between their legs. One Team down. A girl with solid white hair burst through the clearing. She walked with her hips slightly, swaying with her arms raised out to her sides. Her hair rose in the air as energy sparked in the atmosphere. She swung her arm, flipping in the air, launching a giant rock with her. It hit one member of team Kaji in the middle of the stomach, sending him into a nearby tree. A resounding thud echoed through the area as his body collided hard with the tree. He slumped, hitting the ground. His head, lolling to the side. Pyre ordered Inferno to back up, but right about now, Inferno was seeing stars. Torch, Pyre, and Flame exchanged looks.

Flame formed blue fireballs in his hand. Torch smacked his arms together. A white spark igniting the red and yellow flames spreading across his arms. Pyre shot her hand out. A whip made of yellow and white fire formed in her hands. Before the girl with the white hair could retaliate. Pyre flexed her hand, smacking the girl with her fire whip. It collided with the other girl's side. She cried out as her body folded in on itself as she flew through the air. The fire from the whip originally spreading across her body disappeared as she slid across the dirt. When she finally paused, She was face-first on the ground, completely immobile.

"Damn, she ain't getting back up." Zaylee quipped over the link. Her South village accent, sounding thicker on the last word. The leaves from the branch above us stirred as Daisha joined us.

"Pyre is a lot stronger than Snake Queen counted, she should be happy about having her. When we move in, keep an extra eye on her." Daisha ordered over the link.

"We always keep an extra eye on everyone. We never count out anyone, including the weak ones, Daisha." Masha spoke up.

That was true.

"All right, Keep an extra, extra eye on her then. I want our plan to go off without a hitch." The last member of Team Acqua fell with a scream as chains made from rocks covered their wrists and hands holding them to the ground. Another one bites the dust. That just left Team Turbo, Team Kaji, what little members they had left, and Team Trance. Team Trance launched attacks throwing knives at the feet of Team Turbo. Pushing them toward the middle of the clearing. One member of Team Turbo did a butterfly kick smacking a Member of team Trance in the stomach. The Trance member went flying in the bushes. He did not return. The Turbo member who did the butterfly kick swiftly stepped back to his group when one of the knives thrown got too close to his feet. A flash of white blurred as one of the team trance circled the members of the team turbo, creating his dust tornado. All their eyes were wild looking. As they searched for a way to take down the speedy member.

Their mistake. As they focused on the speedster. Another member stood behind them. He lifted his large muscular arms in the air. A surge of power jolted across the area. "Oh, this is going to be good." Zaylee interjected through the link. We all were crouched in the trees watching intently as the fight below us unfolded. The muscular guy's long white hair rose as he used his telekinesis to lift all the members of the Team turbo into the air. They floated for a moment. Every member of the team turbo began gripping or scratching at their necks. They were choking them. Literally sucking the air from a team skilled with the ability to bend it. As team Turbo had the air sucked from their windpipes; The last three members of Kaji converged together, forming a line of defense. Pyre, Torch, and Flame all converged together, fighting the other three members of Trance. Flame launched a fireball the same time one of the Trance members launched a wave ball.

"Shit! Get down!" Zaylee ordered. We were already preparing for it. I folded inward on myself, using my arms as protection. The fireball and wave ball connected, creating an explosion. I wrapped my legs around the trunk of the tree when the wind rushed hard enough to almost knock me off the branch. "Damn." Zaylee spoke up. The explosion was not strong enough to hurt the people who were far enough away, but for the people like Flame and Echo. Well, let's just say that we're going to have sit this one out. While we were still recovering from the aftermath of the wave Daisha didn't miss a beat. She ordered through the bond.

"Kira notch an arrow and aim at the spot closest to the boulder where the speedster is still running."

I did not have to look at Daisha to know she was using her animal abilities to see the speedster. The sliding of metal on metal reached my ears. I watched as Kira's arm muscles flexed as she pulled back the drawstring of her bow, aiming at the spot she was told.

"Hold it. Zaylee, sizzle yourself over there behind the telekinetic guy." While Kira waited to launch her arrow Daisha and Masha unsheathed their weapons. Zaylee's body disappeared altogether. Her form, bleeping out like a screen in the dome being turned off.

She slipped away in her electricity form, moving through the trees. The tornado from the speedster began to slow down as the bodies of the members of the Team turbo slumped. "Now Kira!" Kira released her arrow with a swish. It shot through the leaves without hindrance. A blood-curling yell echoed through the area as the arrow found its target.

It landed right in the ankle of the speedster. He fell to the floor, screaming and reaching for his ankle. He tried pulling it out, hollering even more loudly when it stayed lodged in his ankle bone. He would not get the arrow to budge without damaging something vital. Kira arrows were serrated with notches meant to stay, lodged in the bone. He would have to get it surgically moved. The telekinetic guy searched the trees for our location. He never got the chance.

Zaylee launched a lightning bolt into his back. His body jolted and convulsed as she shot enough electricity into his body to run a biotech freight train. That solid white hair of his frizzed up as he fell forward with a plop on the ground.

"Masha take out the one fighting Torch. Mute you take out the one fighting Pyre. Watch yourself with this one. She has the power to restrict the movement of your muscles." I quickly heated my dragons changing them into long, wickedly sharp daggers.

I jumped down for the branch bending my knees as I hit the ground. I rolled up right behind Valla knocking her feet from under her. She fell to the ground with an oof.

Valla rose on her elbows. "What in the mind god's third eye?" I stood fast, twisting my leg. She had only a moment to glance at me before I knocked her unconscious with a strong kick to the side of her head.

I had just enough to time roll out the way as a fireball hissed by nearly grazing my cheek. I crouched low, staring at Pyre as she created more fireballs in her hand. "And just who the blue fire are you?" I did not bother giving her an answer. I just continued to dodge her fireballs as she launched more at me. The ones I could not dodge, I used my daggers to block. My braided bun came undone as I continued to tuck and roll. Keeping my breathing and heartbeat calm.

My movements fluid. I continued to steer Pyre away from her team as my teammates moved in. Pyre kept coming at me with everything she had. I eluded each attack. She paused for a second, gripping her neck like something had bit her there before returning to me. Her maroon eyes flashing. "I'm going to kill you." I just shrugged. That pissed her off more. She yelled with frustration. Her team never even gave a warning scream, as my team silenced everyone else.
