"Hello there! Welcome to Bio-world where everything you want can bend to your will with the snap of your fingers! Want a new Bio-screen, but OH NO, you don't have enough Bio-credits to pay for it. :( Don't sweat the cost! We'll take your child instead until your debt is paid! :) We promise to take good care of them! Now, remember nothing is as safe as Bio-safe!" What if there was a world where money was not the only source of income. Where technology no longer ran on just wires and metal mechanics. Screens, communication devices, etc all operated on your DNA. Where children of the poor can be sold for products all for their genetics. To fight in arena's for the rich's entertainment. They still have a chance at freedom if they don't die first. Being genetically modified is nothing new to Mute. Being a genetic reject isn't something new to her either. Mute is a Sui-generis. Just one of the rare genetic defects of the Perfect Bio-World. To everyone else, including Mute's teammates, the Bio-world can do nothing wrong, but Mute knows what really goes on behind the Bio-screens. Knowing the truth, Mute will do everything she can to escape the Bio-world, and get back to the one person she cherishes most. But when escaping fails, Mute's world gets thrown into chaos, and it takes every bit of will to keep her world from spiraling out of control. With the smoke lifted, and sold by the Snake Queen herself. The Sui-generis have to take a new look at their not so perfect world. They have two options adapt or be erased. Can Mute save her teammates from making the same mistakes she did or will they all shatter like pieces of a glass from a mirror?

Welcome To The Jungle

Welcome to the Jungle

Chapter 2 (Part 4)

"Stop playing with her Mute and take her ass out." Zaylee yelled out as she walked over to stand with the rest of our team, putting her arm on Daisha's shoulder.

Pyre turned around. Her eyes narrowed as she saw the last of her teammates and Team Trance all comatose. Zaylee gave her finger wave when Pyre's eyes landed on her. She turned back toward me with wild eyes. Her red eyes, searching frantically for an answer. Her eyes, widening a fraction when she realized her mistake.

"You planned this." Her eyes scanned the area looking at the mess we created. "All of you did." She huffed, her lips twitching like she wanted to smile. "I admire that."

Not giving her a chance to react, I crouched down, delivering a swift kick to her ankles. She screamed as she fell on her side. I slowly rose to move toward her. My teammates and I quickly closing her in. Pyre lifted herself on her elbows. She glared at us before trying to roll right into Zaylee's legs. Zaylee stood to the side, evading her attack. She swung an arm launching one of her swords. It landed near Pyre's cheek, pausing her escape.

Pyre coughed, breathing heavily. Her bangs plastered to her forehead with a smudge of blood and dirt on her cheek. She took a new approach standing, quickly as we circled her like the Hyenas did team Tierra. All that was missing was the cackling laughter. Her shoulders slumped forward like she couldn't hold herself up. She swung an arm and tried to launch a fireball. Her hand paused. Her eyes widening. Her fireball fizzled out in a whiff of white smoke.

Her arm slumping back to her side. "Why can't I move?" Her legs gave out, and she collapsed onto her knees. Her natural tan skin taking on an ashen hue as her heavy breathing turned slower. Daisha crouched down in front of her. Her braided dreds, sliding forward as she leaned to get in Pyre's face. Their noses almost touching. "Because while you were too busy fighting Mute here."

Pyre looked behind Daisha's shoulder. Her eyes landed on me flashing a bright red before returning her gaze to Daisha.

"Kira hit you with her favorite poison. Don't worry sweetie, it's not fatal, but it does mean one thing for you." Daisha rose to back away.

Her face, impassive. The corner of Pyre's eyes wrinkled as she shot daggers at each of us. Her lips barely moving as Kira's venom took hold. She gritted out. "What's that?" Zaylee stepped forward. "Welcome to the Snake Armada." Zaylee's fist flew, knocking Pyre out cold. She slumped on her side. Officially comatose. We didn't even have time to reprimand Zaylee for punching her, as we all looked to the sky. A Bio-hovering copter flew in a smooth circle before stopping in the air above us. I held an arm over my eyes, keeping the strong winds and dirt from landing in them. A camera zeroed in on us as our faces displayed on the screens of the dome. A voice echoed through it. Not just any voice. It was her voice sounding so sweet it could almost kill you from the high sugar intake.

"Well done, Team Silfr, you never fail my expectations. Only exceed them." There was an audible click as she disconnected. Five men covered in white scaled armor busted from the trees and bushes surrounding us. Blank shockers and guns trained in on us. We all shared looks.

"We're fucked." Zaylee quipped. I agreed.

Nothing was ever good when it came to the lady of the armada. Especially, when she sent the white snake armada. Highly intelligent and armed Bio-warriors trained to handle their own. We all at once discarded our weapons. Then we dropped to the ground on our knees. My dragons returned to normal, slithering up my body reaching my arms again as I put my hands behind my head. I heard a shuffle and footsteps heading toward our direction. I waited for the footsteps to get closer. The five men surrounded us, brandishing dart guns full of nightshade.

A neurotoxin that could render a Bio's abilities immobile. They shot my teammates. They all fell face-first to the ground. I quickly heated my dragons blocking the shot meant for me with my shields. Before they had time to figure out what I did. I laid flat on my belly, using my ability to send the guy behind me flying backward through the trees. I quickly leaped back to my feet. Moving swiftly. I moved to the guard next to me, using my momentum to do a backward somersault. My foot connected to the bottom of his chin with a crack. Tranquilizer darts whizzed past me as I landed in a crouch. I brought my shields up, blocking them. The guards stepped closer, pestering me with heavy gunfire. I peered past my shields to get a better look at the chaotic scene unfolding before me. Another guard moved closer. He brandished his hands. A bright light shot forward. I dug my feet into the ground, barely keeping the bullets and the light power at bay with my shields. My feet dipped deeper in the dirt, and I began to slide backward. I sucked in a large breath. The hair on my arms, standing at attention. Power surged in me as my dragons vibrated. My hair broke from my braid, forming a halo around my head.

The energy around me pulled inwards. Enveloping my body in waves. I slammed my hands on the ground. The area beneath me crunched and crumbled before rising. I yelled, launching it forward in a wave of dirt and rocks, knocking two guards to the ground. I sucked in another breath. Re-directing my wave away from my teammates to the last guard standing. It slammed against his side, sending him sliding through the dirt. I huffed. Collapsing on my hands and knees. My arms trembled. My legs, straining to hold my weight. My energy was almost depleted. I didn't have time to wait. I grunted as, picked myself up, staggering a bit. I shook my head and surged forward, running with everything I had. I ran into the river. The freezing clear waters rising to my waist were like a slap to my face. A new feeling of determination rising in me. I shivered, my teeth beginning to chatter. I dove under, using my waves to push through the heavy current.

My dark, curly hair floated around me, blocking my view slightly. I felt the pressure of the waterfall run down my back. I swam under it and into the cave. My dragons, giving me a final push. Inside was a small cave and the metal of the arena. The weak spot I needed to get to for my escape. I shoved my hands underneath me, pushing myself out of the water. When I landed on the cold cave ground, I dipped over to the metal wall. I stopped in front of the wall rearing my connected hands back and slamming my fists against it. My dragons vibrated stronger. Giving me more power. The crashing sound echoed throughout the cave. I struck the metal wall again. The impact of creating a large inward dent. Just one more Lulianna, and you will be free. Soon. You can find her and get the hell away from this place. I told myself. What little heart I had left surged at the idea. We can finally be free. I reared my hands back for one final blow.

"Stop!"

I turned around. My hand posed out in front of me. Ready to send the asshole behind me into the cave wall. I paused. My heart, pounding roughly against my chest. The last bit of my hope crumbling. The snake armada soldier I had sent flying in the woods was now standing in front of me. I had made a mistake. I should have killed them instead of rendering them unconscious. I won't make that mistake again.

"Don't even try it. You move an inch, and I will slit her throat." I stared at him.

My reflection on his cracked-open white visor the only thing staring back at me. My long hair was plastered to my face. Water dripping into my eyes. My harsh breathing, noticeably pumping my ample chest. His visible frown, saying everything. In his arms was one of my teammates with a knife pressed to her throat. I stilled my face. The man stood there. His breathing just as harsh as mine. Water dripping from his broken visor. In the white snake armada arms was a choice. I could either continue and let him kill the girl in his hands. My teammate. Masha. Or I could give up one of the ways I had to see my sister again. The one thing I cared about most in this world. I turned my head, staring back at the wall. My tattoo flared in the darkness. Brightening the cave darkness of the despairing cave.

My decision was made.

My dragons vibrated back in their original forms. I dropped down on my knees, putting my hands behind my neck. The guard gave further instructions I could no longer hear over the roaring in my ears. His footsteps permeated it, though. They clopped and echoed. The louder the sound got, the closer I came to the realization I had won. I wasn't happy about it. No, I could bring myself to feel an emotion like that, not yet. All I felt now… was pure satisfaction.

This was not the end for me. I had broken one of the ultimate rules for being a Bio-ling. Never try to escape. I wasn't stupid enough to think something like this was actually going to work. No, my plan had something darker in mind. I needed this moment, this act of rebellion, to send me back in the Snake Armada Captain's office. Before, he moved to inject me. I vowed one thing in my mind. To kill the head of the snake. I gasped when I felt a pinch on the back of my neck. Then everything went to black.

Incoming Bio-message from Plotwist/ Nightshade.....

Hey, ignore that author comment below. I was going to post this after Thanksgiving, but I decided to post early instead. I am new at this and I do not know how to delete it. LOL! I would also like to announce that even though I grew up celebrating Thanksgiving like most people. I would still like to acknowledge the Native American lives lost during this holiday. In no way shape or form am I asking any of you to do the same. This is just my beliefs and morals. I want everyone to know that this is a safe place for all of you from any background, and I will not tolerate hate of any kind. Whew, now that we got that out of the way. I hope everyone has a good day. Stay Bio-safe! Enjoy your Thanksgiving.
