Slaughterer's Ode To The Blade

A world of turmoil. This is the world of the great swordsmen. As the countries cross their blades to show their dominance in power, Their need for resources, Their want for more land, And the taste of freedom, The common people suffer. As they get swept by the war, their loved ones died, Their homes destroyed and their wills crushed by the reality that they can never avenge their suffering as long as they are the weakest, so long as they are kind and so long as they do not have the courage to stand up against their own fate! Noya Eiji is born in such a world. As a war orphan, he is picked up by one of the kindoms and is wondering over life on what to do and what to be, trying to survive day by day not wanting to be part of any of the conflicts between kingdoms, Because he still remembers what his mother's last words were " Be good boy who survives rather than become strong and be drowned by pain, suffering and darkness of the world!" ---- AN : This novel's MC is more on the passive side and while the MC is a bit OP, he wont be OP to the point of just destroying anybody, you might find the story to be boring so it totally fine to not like it, Although I hope otherwise. And also this image is not mine, I saw it on google, its from SOFAN COMICS in Pinterest.

Chapter 4 School Assessment P.2

Eiji stood in front of the other teacher.

He was a male swordsman. Masamune Kingdom's main sword was a katana.

The teacher looked about 25 years old, he has a chill vibe around him as he smiled at Eiji.

"Alright now kid, I will now help you open up your ki pathways, try to stay calm and feel the ki inside you, okay?!"

"Okay?!"

Eiji nodded his head.

Then the teacher put his hand on Eiji's head.

"Close your eyes and feel the ki inside you!"

Eiji closed his eyes. He didn't feel anything at the first few seconds, but suddenly he felt something cool in his head.

Then slowly it traveled into his whole body.

As it traveled his body he suddenly felt some heat in his head, heart and stomach at the navel area!

"Can you feel it heat from your temples, heart and dantian?"

'Dantian? Maybe the one in my stomach part?'

"Yes sir!"

"Okay good! We're finished here then!"

He took his hand off of Eiji's head and smiled.

"Thank you sir!"

Eiji bowed his head at the teacher.

"Hahah! You're a polite kid! Now go at the second area and try your second test!"

"Okay! Thank you once again sir!"

After thanking the teacher once again, Eiji went to the other area.

It was the center of an arena.

As Eiji and the others that passed the first test came, another teacher was in the arena to talk to them about the second test!

"Now everyone, don't be too uptight! In fact as long as all of you successfully pass the first test you are actually now accepted!"

"Really?!!"

"Is that true teacher?!"

"Then sir! Why do we have to do two more tests then?!"

" Hahah! Good question kid! The answer for that is, to know all of your conditions and physiques and divide you into sections.

Those that have a great score on the test will be at the top of the section, while those that are low will be..well...at the lowest section!"

" Sir what is the difference between the sections?"

"The biggest difference would be.... The top sections will have more resources available to them. They will be taught more advance lessons. And in most cases, they will almost always become one of the strong swordsmen in the future!"

"Ehh??! Isn't that a bit unfair?!"

" Well, nothing's fair in life kid! So you guys do your best in the two last tests so that you will be assigned in a higher section!"

""Yes sir!""

" Okay for the second test, You have to split a bamboo pole in half using a wooden katana!"

""Huh?!""

"Hahah you all don't have to worry! You can hack as many times as you want and besides the bamboo pole will be the thinnest part of the bamboo!

But let me remind you all! The less hacks or slash you do to achieve in splitting the bamboo the higher your score will be!

With that said there are twenty bamboo poles ready, go pick up some wooden katana, as for the others, wait until one of them is finished and then you can take your turn!

Now start!"

With that, the kids that were near the sword rack were the first ones to take the wooden katanas.

Eiji wasn't able to take one so he had to wait for his turn.

"Haah!"

"Haayyaaa!"

"Urryyaaaahhh!!!"

The kids were then continuously hacking the bamboo pole.

*BAAMM!!

Suddenly a breaking sound was heard.

At one of the bamboo pole tables has a kid that already broke his bamboo pole!

From the looks of it, he only took one strike!

" As expected of the son of the Hanzo Clan, Hanzo Akai! He was called the genius of the Hanzo clan! Able to awaken their clan's Blood Sword at the age of 4!"

There were a lot of children that knew Akai. He was in the limelight, but he has a calm look on his face as if he doesn't care about what the others were saying.

The teacher for the second test was also nodding his head as he looked at Akai.

He knew him already as he was quite famous especially since he came from a Huge Clan.

The other kids that saw Akai finishing his test didn't want to be left out so they gave it their all as they hacked and hacked away!

After Akai finished his test, others filled in his spot.

A few minutes later another kid managed to break his pole, then another and then another.

Those that used less slashes or hacks had a smile on their faces while those that used more than five were sad.

They dont know the standard actually as they weren't told, but since there were others that managed to do it in five or less hacks they all thought that was the standard.

As the test continued, Eiji finally was able to take the test.

He took a deep breath and walked in to the empty spot with a wooden katana in his hand.

End of Chapter.
