Chapter 11 Written Exams
Exams day.
Eiji came just in time for the school bell to ring.
He stayed up all night studying so he woke up a bit late.
"Eh?! You just came in?!"
"Yeah! I studied late last night! And I just woke up and could only wash my face, I couldn't even prepare breakfast and just directly ate the rations with water!"
"Haha! Then it seems like you will have a good score in this exams then!"
"Well I don't know! How about you?! Did you get help from your father?"
"Hmm! He helped me quite a bit! Then someone told him that there was a meeting or something so he made one of his servants help me!"
"Oh! Then it would be You that will have a good score then!"
"I hope so!"
After chatting a bit the bell rung and teacher Muri came with a bundle of papers.
It seems like that would be their test papers for today.
"Good morning!"

"Alright I hope you studied your lessons well, I will remind all of you, no cheating is allowed! If I caught you cheating you will fail all of the exams for today!, so without further ado, let's start the test!
The first would be reading and writing! You all have one hour to finish the exam! "
Teacher Muri then handed the test paper.
The first exam was evaluated with how well you can answer the question. Answering the question right would mean that you know how to read fluently so that means that each question would be two points each!
Eiji focused on the paper as he answered.
" Everyone! times up! Finish or not, pass your papers!"
Eiji managed to finish this exam, so he passed the test paper without worry.
"Next! Arithmetic! Still, you have an hour!"
It was just a small breather from one exam to other.
This time, it was hard for the kids.
It wasn't just double digits, there were also triple and quadruple digits being added and subtracted!
While the last two questions were multiplication and division!
And when you are having a hard time with limited time, as if being played, time would pass by very fast.
"Alright everyone finished or not finished pass your papers!"
"Aahhh!"
"Noo! I haven't finished yeett!!"
There were sounds of agony and distress, but teacher Muri didn't care and took their test papers.
Eiji answered most of the questions but couldn't asnwer the division one and he didn't know if he was right at the multiplication one!
"Alright you guys have your 15 minute break!"
"Yess!"
"Allrriigght!!"
After two hard exams, there was the 15 minutes short break. Eiji, still same as always took out his hard tack to eat.
But this time, he also have a sandwich.
Lime now shares her sandwiches with Eiji. She deliberately told the cook in her house to add another sandwich because two isn't enough for her anymore.
The cook didn't care as he knew that people that trained as a swordsmanship eat a lot, so he just made another one for her.
Now Eiji gets a free sandwiches every time. But Eiji also invites Lime to lunch at his dorm.
In there, he made her his own recipe of stewed hard tack with little salt and a slice tomato!
Lime stared at it but still ate it, And since she have some bread and meat for her lunch she also gave some bread to Eiji and added the meat into the stew which made the stew have a bit more with flavor.

After the short break the next exam came.
"Now everyone next is Ethics! This is a simple one with little number of questions so this time you Only have 45 minutes, so that the history exam will have an hour, okay?!"
""Okay, sir!""
"Good! Now here!"
Then Teacher Muri handed them the test papers.
The Ethics exams is indeed simple. It was just question if is this the right thing to do or not and you can just answer yes or no.
The hardest or more like the longest part of it would be and essay about writing what to do when encountering an argument and how to solve it.
Eiji answered it all with a bit of time to spare.
So he relaxed his mind as he meditated.
When he was studying or doing his assignments every night, he found out that meditating actually helps him calm and focus his mind after!
So he got the habit of meditating after doing hard assignments or too much studying.
Muri saw Eiji and he had a look of appreciation in his eyes. Eiji is one of the most dilident students in the class. He appreciates the boy even though he was a bit shy.
Muri took the papers after announcing that it was time and then handed the last exam which was history.
History subject was one of the hardest part of the exams.
It was just about memorization!
It was a bit hard for Eiji, so he just answered all that he knew and then tried to go back to those that he didn't have an answer yet.
" Okay! Times Up! Finished or not, give me your test papers!"
After giving their test papers, the students stretched their bodies and relaxed.
Some had a confident face, while there are those that are still confused and others were just sad.
"Its already twelve, so you guys can have your lunch! In the afternoon we will have the physical education exams!
Do your best and now dismiss!"
Teacher Muri then left the room along with the test papers.
Eiji took a deep breath and relaxed his body.
'The written exams are finished! Now the physical education exams next! But first, lunch!'
