CHAPTER 1

Tessa came down from the taxi, she immediately turned to face the magnificent building beside her, it was JK company, the company belonged to her husband, David Winston.

Today was David's birthday, and he didn't come home last night. He had been busy with work recently, so Tessa decided to come here and wish him happy birthday in his office.

Today also marks their three years marriage anniversary, and also three years since she ran away from home just to get married to David.

Tessa entered the building after she paid the taxi driver, although it had been three years since she got married to David, they had never had sex.

David's family despises her because they believe she came from a poor background, and she was after David's money, they even made David propose a contract to her.

The contract states that she was entitled to nothing if they got a divorce, and she was not to ask David for money, except for the maintenance of the house.

The contract duration was three years, if she and David didn't get a divorce before three years then the contract would be void, finally it was only a few days left before the contract would be void, not that she was happy about it, but it felt like their relationship would moved to a proper stage after the contract expires.

David's family would finally understand that she wasn't here because of David's money, but love. They already knew that, but they would have no alternative but to agree when the contract expires.

Tessa reached the front desk with a full smile on her face.

"Is my husband busy"

The lady put on a smile when they saw Tessa, they knew her as the boss's wife, not many knew the boss had a wife, they were surprised when they found out last year, and it seemed they were the only ones who knew about it, majority of the workers didn't know that the boss was even married.

The ladies eyes moved to the large bouquet Tessa was holding. The senior lady sounded with a smile.

"He is free, Mrs. Winston"

Hearing the name Mrs. Winston made Tessa's cheeks turn red, her head became heavy as she thought about it. She was truly Mrs. Winston, she hadn't been addressed that way before.

"Very well, then"

Tessa headed to David's office, since David was free, nobody should be in his office, she believed he might be taking a nap, he hate to sleep outside, poor him, work had been booming lately, she wished she could help him share the workload, well he loved to do things himself.

Tessa opened the door without knocking, and she was rendered motionless. She was frozen on her spot.

Her eyes couldn't comprehend what she was seeing, her heart stopped functioning as she stared at David who was lustfully kissing Olivia, his childhood friend, and currently, his business partner.

Olivia just came back to the country some months ago, she immediately became business partners with David. She came from one of the top ten families in the city, ever since she came back, David had been coming home late, she thought he was busy with work and Olivia recently awarded him with a mega contract so he was probably busy, she never, nor did she ever suspect that David was having an affair with Olivia.

How could this happen?, How could David do such a thing to her?

She thought they were just friends, old friends. That was what David said when he introduced her to Olivia.

They didn't even notice her presence, they were busy kissing passionately, Tessa's breath vibrated slowly, David had never kissed her like this before, they barely even hugged let alone kissed deeply, but here he was, kissing another woman wholeheartedly.

Tessa let go of the bouquet she was holding, it fell to the ground causing a loud displeasing sound.

The sound alerted David and Olivia, only then did they notice Tessa who was standing by the door with a stupefied expression.

David quickly let go of Olivia and buttoned his white shirt, he told the front desk ladies not to allow anybody inside, why did they allow Tessa?, and they didn't even inform him?

"How did you get here?… when did you get in?"

David looked at Tessa when he was done arranging himself. Tessa was still motionless on her spot, but she managed to voice out.

"What are you doing?"

Her heart was pounding heavily, she was trying to understand the situation but the scene from earlier was flashing in her head and she couldn't contain her emotions anymore.

Her eyes turned wet.

How could David do such a thing to her, did he forget that he was married?, did he forget that he had a wife?, why would he do this?

David wanted to say something when Olivia jumped in.

"Did you forget how to knock, is that how you were trained, you just bash into somebody's office and start questioning anybody you see"

Olivia frowned as she stared at Tessa, she was angry that David stopped because of the bush girl, who didn't know she must knock before she enter somebody's office.

Tessa was shocked to the bone, that wasn't the response she was expecting, given what was happening, she deserved an explanation, David should be saying something already. Her eyes moved to David hoping to hear a proper explanation of what was happening.

"Why are you here Tessa, didn't I tell you I am busy"

David glared at Tessa.

Tessa was shocked by David's response, she was lost completely, she saw everything, and now it felt like nothing happened, like she entered to interrupt a heated meeting. For God's sake, David should be on his knees begging, while this bitch should be quivering.

'What the fuck is going on'

Tessa's eyebrows pushed to each other.

"Did you forget today was your birthday and also our three years marriage anniversary? You didn't come home last night, so I came here to wish you happy birthday only to see this.

"Did you forget that you are married, Why were both of you kissing?, or don't I deserve an explanation for it already!"

Tessa glared at Olivia, David was shocked to hear Tessa's fuming tone, she had never sounded this way since they got married, what had come over her, perhaps she had shown her true color because he was with another woman.

Olivia stared at Tessa in disdain, she diverted her attention to David.

"Settle this quickly, I will be waiting in the guest room"

She walked away without waiting for David to respond, she wanted to walk past Tessa when Tessa gripped her right hand and pulled her back.

"Where do you think you are going?"
