Purposely Trying To Keep Distance

Biên tập viên: Noodletown Translations

The wound on Su Xiqin's forehead bled a little bit because of the impact, but it was nothing serious, and she was fine after the doctor had wrapped it up.

"Ms. Su, try not to touch it once you go back and don't let any water in so that it'll heal faster."

The nurse said to Su Xiqin as she wrapped up the wound. Meanwhile, Bai Yansen stood by the windows and made a phone call. Xing Chensheng wasn't in the hospital this time, and he wasn't looking for him anyways this time.

Su Xiqin had her head tilted upward to make it easier for the nurse to wrap the wound, and her gaze happened to land upon Bai Yansen. His figure was tall and straight, and Su Xiqin began to calm down after a while and realized that it was not right for her to follow him here. However, she couldn't reject his reason and decided that this was going to be the last time she came into contact with him.

Suddenly, Bai Yansen turned around, and his eyes met with her's. Although his deep gaze seemed like it could take people's souls away, she stayed calm and stared at him right back calmly.

Bai Yansen pinched his brows slightly when he noticed that she wasn't trying to hide from his gaze anymore, but that she was staring at him like calm water, and it was very straightforward. He said something to the phone and ended the call before he walked towards her.

"Is it done?" he asked the nurse in a deep voice.

"Yes, Mr. Bai." His voice made the nurse stop and look back at him.

Bai Yansen nodded to the nurse and replied. "Thank you for the hard work."

"No problem."

The nurse was blushing as she stared at Bai Yansen just like anyone else would when they encountered a mature and charismatic man. However, Bai Yansen did not look back at the nurse and was only staring at Su Xiqin who suddenly spoke up.

"CEO Bai, thank you for giving me a ride here to wrap up the wound."

The nurse paused her steps and glanced at Su Xiqin attentively having heard their conversation. Bai Yansen looked at Su Xiqin and replied indifferently, "Okay, if you're fine, then let's go."

"CEO Bai," Su Xiqin said as she curled her lips and stood up. "You bumped into me, but you also sent me here to take care of the wound, so we are even. You must be busy, so I won't waste your time any further. I'll take a taxi to pick up my son."

The nurse left quietly after she heard Su Xiqin mention her son. So that's what it was.

There were only the two of them in the ward, and Bai Yansen's expression didn't change much as he pinched his lips, lowered his head slightly, and had a hand on his chin.

"Okay, I'll leave you be and won't give you a ride. Are you leaving now? If you are, we could head out together."

Su Xiqin was going to leave immediately. Having seen that he didn't look displeased by her words, she started to wonder if she was thinking too much and nodded, agreeing to his suggestions.

The two walked out of the ward with Bai Yansen walking in front, but it wasn't for long until her phone rang.

She took out her phone from her purse and paused her steps when she saw the number. She said to Bai Yansen who was walking in front of her.

"CEO Bai, you go first. I have to answer a call."

Bai Yansen stopped and turned around, staring at her with something in his eyes that Su Xiqin didn't understand and didn't want to understand. Su Xiqin said, "Thank you so much for taking me to the hospital."

Bai Yansen didn't reply to Su Xiqin, who was purposely trying to make distance between them, only nodding his head before he turned around and walked away.

She sighed out of relief when she saw him walking away and felt as if the feeling of suppression was finally gone. Then, she answered the call as the phone kept on ringing.
