'Where am I'?
Alex asked himself when he opened his eyes.
He was really confused about what was going on, as everything happened too quickly for his brain to process.
One second he was getting angry at the injustice of the world in what felt like the afterlife, and next his whole being was engulfed in a bright blue light, which almost made him blind.
Now he was in some sort of room, sitting on a chair in the middle of the room.
As he looked around, the room seemed pretty similar to his own, with multiple posters of some sort of superhero who just looked like a rip-off of Superman with a different colour scheme.
But aside from the one or two posters on the wall, there was nothing of note on the wall.
There seemed to be a single-person bed in one corner and a black study table in another.
And one long mirror attached to a wall, but aside from that, there was nothing else in the room.
Now that he took a closer look, the room had a very nice and fragrant lavender smell, and it was clean.
Almost too clean, Alex couldn't even see a single speck of dirt, which led him to conclude that the owner was probably both a minimalist and a clean freak.
Which were quite opposite to Alex's personality, who liked having space in his room filled with stuff and never cared too much about cleanliness since he was pretty much always just on his bed due to his legs .
Something that he had been ignoring for the last few moments was the painful feeling that he felt in his right wrist.
And when he finally looked at his own hands, he was left horrified.
In his left arm was a simple, plain kitchen knife, and on it was some sort of red liquid that was dripping down.
But the thing that truly shocked him was his right wrist, which had a clean and wide cut that cleanly slashed his arteries, causing his own red blood to cover his arm and drip down, dying the small part of the floor near the chair red with blood.
He felt dizzy seeing this, as his brain was struggling to process everything that was happening to him.
Alex was convinced that he was about to experience death for the second time in this moment.
However, the death he was expecting never came, and instead he was greeted by a truly otherworldly phenomenon.
The blood on the ground started floating back towards his cut wrist as it defied the laws of physics.
Even the blood on his wrist started moving back inside his wrist, and once there was no more blood left outside, his cut skin started healing and patching itself back together.
Before long, his wrist was as good as new, without even a scar on his skin or a stain of blood on the ground.
Having witnessed everything, he just did the only thing Alex could mutter.
"What the fuck?"
A very reasonable question given the circumstances.
He still couldn't believe what he just saw; he should have definitely died from a cut like that, and yet somehow the injury defied pretty much all the laws and fixed itself.
Even the blood on the knife in his hand was gone, making it completely clean.
'Maybe I was just hallucinating'
He tried to convince himself after all that the explanation would make infinitely more sense than what he just witnessed.
And factoring in his current messed-up mental state, the possibility of him hallucinating became even more likely.
However, despite this, Alex knew that he wasn't just hallucinating the pain, and the feeling he just felt was far too real for it to just be his mind playing tricks on him.
It had to be real, or so Alex told himself.
But now the question is, since what he just saw was real, how did it happen?
Heck, maybe an even better question was: how did he come to this unknown room when he was supposed to still be in the black void of the afterlife?
Speaking of which, just where was he?
Alex didn't know why, but as he looked at the mirror in the corner of the room, it seemed to be calling for him.
It's almost like if he could just see his own reflection, his questions might be answered.
So, listening to his gut, Alex stepped up as he moved towards the mirror.
Just as he walked, he almost unintentionally blurted out.
"Ah, right, my legs."
But contrary to his expectations, he could actually feel his legs, and he could even move them just like he would move his arms.
The feeling was foreign to him and felt weird, but it filled him with an indescribable feeling of joy; he felt on top of the world, making him almost confuse his current location with heaven itself.
But he reeled his emotions back in as he fell face first on the ground due to not being used to walking for more than 4 years.
Thankfully, the fall wasn't that hard, and he didn't break his nose.
But even the pain of the fall didn't take away from his joy.
After a few minutes of trying, Alex finally managed to walk through it. It still felt unnatural, but that didn't matter to him right now.
What did matter was that he was finally in front of the mirror, and he was left speechless by what he saw.
From the mirror, the face of a teenage boy who couldn't have been more than 15–16 years old stared back at him.
The boy had deep, dark circles under his eyes, but that barely took away from his almost unbelievable charm.
He had a sharp jawline despite his young age, implying he was blessed with good genes.
A belief that was only further strengthened by his face, which had soft features like some of those Korean idols he had seen girls simp over online.
He couldn't even believe such a face was real, as even in his past life, he used to blame the absurd beauty of K-pop idols on plastic surgeries, makeup, and the magic of editing and lighting, which made them appear better than they normally look.
But even without any of these things, the boy in front of him easily triumphed over even the most handsome man he had ever seen in his whole life.
The boy had dazzling diamond-like blue eyes, which threatened to trap anyone within their alure who stared too long, which boosted his charm even further.
His hair, were a bit weird, as they seemed to be a weird mix of both blue and black.
Not indulging in any of the two colours too much.
The best way he could describe them was by calling them bluish black.
They were basically black with a tint of blue in them, which made them stand out.
However, it seems that at least in the case of the boy, God was fair, and as if just to counteract his ladykilling good looks, he didn't look too tall.
If Alex had to take a guess, he was probably 152 cm or 5'5 feet max.
Which really wasn't a lot, but once one took a look at his body, it started to make a bit more sense.
The boy looked really thin, almost like a twig.
It was almost unnatural, meaning the boy wasn't eating properly, and his dark circles suggested a terrible sleep schedule considering how dark and baggy they were.
All of which probably resulted in his height being affected.
But all of this was of no immediate concern to Alex, as the only question on his mind was:.
'Just who is this guy?
