Surprise Dinner..

We left the lounge at about midnight, I was a little bit tipsy and sober, I mean he was driving, so it made sense that he wasn't drinking a lot. We all walked to the car park, then we bade Nick and Chioma goodbye.

"Good night Nick and Chioma. It was nice meeting you both", I said to them.

"Good Nma.. it was nice meeting you too", Chioma said, as we hugged.

"Good night Nma. Was nice meeting you and we will see you tomorrow evening", Nick said, then he shook Cheta's hands, "Cheta, take care...I'll see you tomorrow", he said to Cheta.

"Good night Cheta", Chioma said

"Good night Chioma... drive safely Nick", he said to both of them.

They got into their car and we walked to our car.

We got to the car and Cheta got the door for me, then he got in and we drove out of the car park.

"I like Nick and Chioma, they are cool people", I said as we drove home.

"Yeah. Did you have fun?", he asked me.

"I did... I did have fun", I said and intertwined my fingers with his. He took my hand and kissed it, still holding the steering wheel with his other hand. We got to the house a few minutes later, we got into the house and tried to carry me upstairs.

"What are you trying to do?", I asked, laughing.

"Carrying you upstairs"

"Why?"

"You are too tired to walk up the stairs in your heels, baby", he said

"I can just take off the shoes", I said

"Okay", he said and went down and started loosening the strap of my shoes, he helped me out of my shoes and held them while we walked upstairs. We got into the room and I took off my clothes and went in take my bath. When we were done with our bath, we just lay in each other's arms.

"I love you Dinma", Cheta blurted out with his voice breaking. I turned to look at him, "Are you okay, baby?", I asked him

He nodded his head. "I just felt like telling you", he said.

"I love you too, baby", he kissed me.

He kissed me and said, "Good night my love" and he slept off. I lay there for a few minutes before I slept off too.

The next morning, we woke up very hungry, thankfully breakfast was ready and on the table when we got downstairs. We didn't even ask questions, we just went on to eat. We finished eating and Cheta called the Chef, so he came out of the kitchen to the dining table.

"Good morning Sir...Good morning Ma'am", he greeted

"Good morning Chef", I said

"Good morning Chef...how is the preparation for this evening going?", Cheta asked.

"It's going well, we have started prepping for the 3-course meal, we will start cooking in the afternoon, so it's fresh by the time your guests arrive"

"Okay, do you need anything extra that needs to be bought?", he asked him

"No, we still have money in the food account and we can get whatever we want", he said, then he added, "I was thinking of adding smoothie and freshly squeezed juice to the menu, I don't know if that's fine",

"Baby, what do you think?", he asked me.

"Yes, that's a good idea... but baby, do you think the drinks here will be enough?"

"Yes, I'll speak to the housekeeper about that, but Chef one more thing before you leave, when the drinks get here, can you help put them in the cooler or freezer so that they get cold", Cheta said to Chef.

"Okay Sir, we will handle that.", the Chef answered and walked out of the dining area.

"So are you ready to meet most of my friends?", Cheta asked me

"I think so... I hope I have something to wear."

"We can go and pick some things from the mall if you want?", Cheta asked again

"We don't have to, I'll just find something in my box to wear"

"I can't insist?", he asked again

"Baby, you have gotten a lot for me already and I haven't gotten anything for you"

"You don't have to get anything for me, just being with me is enough and I insist that we go shopping. I need to buy some things for myself and you can just pick a dress.", he said

"Okay, fine baby, but it's just one dress"

"Yes, 1 dress baby. Now, let's go and get ready", he said.

"Okay, baby."

We got up and walked upstairs to get ready to go out. We were ready and drove out an hour later. We went to the mall and Cheta got me to try out dresses, he insisted that I get all the dresses that fit me, and trust me, we argued about it but a girl won't say no to dresses. We got back right on time for lunch. After we ate our lunch we went upstairs. I lay down and Cheta tried to get on top of me, but I was exhausted.

"Baby, I'm tired, I just want to sleep"

"Is that it or you are angry with me?", he asked me

"I'm not angry baby, I'm just tired"

"Baby, you know I love buying things for you"

"I know babe and I'm not angry with you, I'm not baby, I promise". I got close to him and kissed him.

"Okay, let's take a nap then", he pulled me closer and said, "Come here, baby". I moved close to him and he held me, breathing on my neck, I could smell his cologne, I shut my eyes and slept off. We woke up to Cheta's alarm he had set the alarm for 5.00 pm and that alarm was very loud, I thought that someone was after my life. I woke up and Cheta was awake, turning off his alarm.

"Why won't change the notification sound for your alarm?", I asked him

"Because that's the only one that wakes me up"

"But it's so loud"

"I'm sorry baby", he said and got up from the bed, "I'm going to take a shower, our guests will soon be here"

"Okay love", I said and lay back down, closing my eyes, while Cheta walked into the bathroom.

The first guest arrived at 7.00 pm, I was still upstairs in the room with Cheta, getting ready when the housekeeper knocked on the door.

"Baby, I'll see you downstairs", he said to me

"Okay, baby"

"Don't stay too long", he said to me before he walked out of the room.

I finished getting dressed and walked downstairs to meet up with Cheta, by the time I got downstairs, 2 more guests had arrived, so I walked to meet Cheta and before I got to him, he turned and saw and called out to me.

"Baby, come and meet my friends", as he said it, everybody turned in my direction. I walked over to him and kissed me briefly on my lips. Then he started introducing me to his friends, I tried not to forget their names, it was sort of a lot because they all had their +1 with them. We sat down and Cheta was talking to one of his friends while I tried to get acquainted with one of the girls that had come with one of his friends, Emeka.

"How long have you been in Nigeria?", she asked me, Emeka's girlfriend, I can't remember her name.

"We only got here yesterday"

"Oh! And how long will you be here?", she asked again,

"I don't know", I said and that was a lie, I just didn't want to tell her, I was just meeting her and I feel that was too much information to divulge to a stranger, then I asked her, "Do you want something to drink? You are not drinking anything."

"Yes, maybe wine or a cocktail", she said

"I'll be back", I said and got up. Cheta turned and looked at me as I got up and got up and followed me. I walked to the dining area and he called out to me quietly, "Baby".

I turned back to look at him.

"Where are you going to?", he asked me

"I want to get a drink for Emeka's girlfriend"

"Come here... I have been keeping myself from dragging you upstairs since you came down from the room"

"I don't understand...why?", I asked him.

"To do this", he said and pulled me close to himself and kissed me deeply, I almost lost my footing but I still wasn't going to stop the kiss, then his phone starts ringing, stopping us. He took out his phone and looked at it.

"It's Nick, I think they are here. I told him to call when he was close"

"Okay babe, you should take the call then"

He connected the call.

"Hello...You are here? Okay, I'll call the security to let you in"

He disconnected the call and dialed a number.

"You can let him in", he said, still on the phone. Then he disconnected the call and turned to me, "Let's go back to the living room, they will be coming in any moment"

"Okay babe", I answered and we walked back to the living room.

"Guys, they are here...let's take our places", he said to everyone and everyone started getting up in a hurry. They all went to hide and I walked to the door with Cheta. We opened the door and Nick and Chioma walk into the house.

"Hey Nma, how are you?", Nick said to me.

I hugged Chioma and greeted her too, "Hey Chioma, Hey Nick"

"Come in guys", Cheta said to them, that was a signal. Then everyone came out, screaming, "Surprise!!!"

Nick and Chioma turned to look at everyone that had come out from their hiding spaces and were surprised to see the people that were in the house. I could tell that they were surprised and excited... It was nice to see Cheta going all out just to put a smile on the faces of his friends, it told me the kind of man he was... This man is indeed a blessing to me and I love him and love being with him.
