I DIE?

I muttered under my breath as I saw a silver light flash from the end of the wand. I shut my eyes tight. I felt a strong pain in my head and the next moment I felt so light- weighted. I slowly opened my eyes to see an unfamiliar place. Everything looked partially blurry, as though I was seeing all those with jelly eyes(Who am I kidding, Jelly Eyes?). It was muzzy and I couldn't make out anything. Bright light was flooding in from nowhere, which made it harder for me to see stuff. All I could make out was a lot of light and nothing else. I looked at myself...

'Did I transform into some soul?'

I was still in my favourite red hoodie and jeans. My body looked quite normal too. I felt my face with my palm to check if something went missing during the attack. But, thank god...everything's in the right place. But where was I?

What's this place? Why am I here? Is this where all the dead souls reach?

My brain bombarded me with a thousand questions and I wasn't sure of anything. But I was sure of one thing, I am dead. That's a hundred per cent sure. Suddenly, I felt sad and lonely. Now, how would I ever see Ann and Chris? How would I meet my aunt and uncle? Now, would I ever see Abin? My school, my hostel, my friends, my family...my heart ached at these thoughts.

But my thoughts were interrupted as my eyes darted towards a figure that stood right before me. The bright light made it hard for my eyes to pick-up the features of the body. But by look, I felt it to be a lady wearing a large gown, her back facing me. I strained my eyes to get a better vision of her but she started walking away from me. I walked forward and then froze. A sudden message clicked in my brain.

'Why do you always want to follow people?'

Thought this was quite relevant, I ignored the thought and walked further. As I walked further forward, I got a better vision of the lady, she had brown brunette hair which was let down. The ends dancing as she took each of her steps. I took the next few steps of mine quickly to reach out to her.

Now, I was just within an arm's distance away from her. I stretched my hand and placed my hand on her shoulder, and then suddenly I felt a strong bolt of electricity pass through my fingertips. It went straight into my spine. The shock I received was quite strong that made me stumble back. I fell and hit my back.

The lady neither stopped in her steps nor did she look back. She continued walking, leaving behind a bewildered me. Rubbing my back, I stood up. I had made up my mind to follow her. I took the next few steps quickly to reach the lady. Now once again, I was near her, when suddenly she took a break in her movement. I took a sudden break in my steps and waited for her to turn back.

Wait, was all this a trap?

What if she turned to reveal her monstrous face and attack me? Wait, but I was already dead, wasn't I? Then how could I die again? Oh, lords! What if I wasn't killed, what if I was transported to the demonic world to be killed? Heck, my head hurts.

But something caught my attention. She slowly turned her body, her hair obstructed my vision from finding her face. But before I could find more about her.....My senses blacked out
