Chapter Six

With West and Bonnie in front they followed, they didn't have their guns pointing forward but they were alert, suddenly there was a faint scream in the distance and it surely didn't sound human, they stopped

"West did you hear that?" Bonnie asked

"Yes I did" West said as they looked ahead but saw nothing, there was silence as they stood there alert with their weapons, some of them already getting sweating palms and hearts beating faster, they then noticed someone running towards them in the distance, they raised their guns up

"Hold your fire" West said

"I think it's a man" Bonnie said as she slightly lowered her gun; the man shouting out something in the distance but it was faint, he kept running closer, they waited

"Run!" they heard him say as he ran towards them

"What is going on?" Michael asked

"Run! Get out of here! Run!" he screamed as he ran

"What is he running from?" Travis asked

"West what is going on there?" General Kane asked

"There is a man screaming" West said

"A Man?" General Eze said

"He is asking us to run" West said; everyone at the base got interested

"Run from what?" General Kane asked; West immediately saw over 20 more persons running towards them in the distance, Bonnie looked through the binocular on her gun

"Jesus Christ!" Bonnie screamed

"Zombies!" she yelled out; the running man got close to them and even ran past them

"What!?" General Eze exclaimed

"Open fire now!" West said and they opened fire on the Zombies, the zombies were falling down and getting up

"They are not dying" Lawrence said

"Head shot" West said and they fired head shots and they began dying; Michael looked back and saw them coming from behind, they have grabbed the running man, they tore him into two like paper and devoured him

"More behind!" Michael yelled out, some turned and opened fire on the ones coming from behind, the more they shot the more they came

"These things are endless" Travis said; more came from south

"Back to back" West said and they all went back to back firing both sides until the zombies rush ceased

"Jesus Christ!" Michael exclaimed as he breath heavily

"West can you hear me?" General Kane asked

"We just got a welcome party with hundreds of living dead" West said

"Living dead?" General Kane said

"Zombies… lots of them" West said

"Jesus Christ" General Eze exclaimed

"This is worse than I imagined" Lieutenant Scott said

"I can't believe this… zombies are real?" Michael said still trying to get over the horror

"How is that possible? From where?" General Eze asked

"We are about to find out" West said as they examined the corpses; the earth was littered with blood and flesh that stunk real bad forcing some to cover their noses

"Fuck I am loving this already" John said then laughed with a trembling voice

"We are going to have a great day" Lee said

"This is fucking beautiful, Woow" Lawrence said aloud

"Yes" Travis joined the excitement

"Are you guys fucking crazy?" Michael said; the Nigerian soldiers were definitely not finding it exciting; Lawrence looked at them

"What's your name?" Lawrence asked one

"Peter" he said

"Peter? Well then welcome to the missionary ground" Lawrence said

"What's your name?" Lawrence said

"Alexander"

"I guess you are some Spartan warrior right?" Lawrence said

"How about you?"

"Solomon"

"Solomon? Solomon is not a fighter? Right Travis?"

"Nah he's not" Travis agreed

"He is more like a pussy kinda guy" Lawrence said

"There ain't no pussy here bro, just gun powder" Lawrence said and Travis laughed

"You guys are disgusting" Lee said

"What's your name?" Lawrence asked

"Goodluck"

"What… did he just say Goodluck?" Lawrence said

"Well then, good luck to you my friend" Lawrence said, Bonnie chuckled

"When you boys are done goofing around, move it" West moved with Bonnie and they all followed

"Can we get a map to the hospital" West said, Michael accessed the tablet

"The hospital is East" Michael said

"Alright boys, we go east" West said…

WHITE HOUSE WASHINGTON DC

4:00pm

General Kane and the president walking down the arcade with security personnel heading for the presidential vehicle

"Sorry I couldn't speak to you yesterday, I was in a meeting" president said

"I understand"

"You said something about Zombies or maybe I didn't hear that correctly" President said

"You heard perfectly Mr. President, Colonel West and his boys opened fire on zombies" General Kane said, the president stopped then looked at him

"Are those things real?" he asked

"They are now sir" General Kane said

"And any info about our people?" he asked as they continued walking

"Nothing yet sir, we await hearing from West"

"Very well then, keep informed if anything comes up and if they need anything give it to them"

"Yes sir" General Kane said as the president entered his car…

OWERRI, NIGERIA

10:45am

"Colonel West can you hear me?" Scott said

"Loud and clear" he replied

"What's the update?"

"Nothing new, just zombies" he said

There was a thick mist ahead of them, so thick that it hardly moved, West halted his men

"That is the thickest mist I have ever seen in a while" Travis said

"We are not going through that" West said then looked around, he looked at the 3 story building close by

"Travis I need you at the top of that building, look into the mist and beyond" he said

"Yes sir" Travis moved off with his sniper

"Alexander and Michael back him up" West said and they followed

The building was completely empty, they ran up the stairs and arrived at the very top floor, Travis looked out through a window

"Jesus Christ" Travis said

"What do you see?" West asked

"Zombies… the mist is full of them"

"How far does the mist go?" West asked

"About 50 meters"

"Anything beyond?"

"More Zombies… it's like they are waiting for a command or something" Travis said…

Somewhere in the distance was a taller building and a man in black was looking through the window

"Go on my children… FEED" he said and there was an explosion sound

"What was that?" Michael asked, the zombies immediately began heading towards West and his men

"Colonel they are heading for you guys!" Travis said

"Shit… into the building now" West said and they ran into the building and slammed the iron door shut and locked it, the zombies banged hard on the door, there was so much strength coming from the dead and it appeared they were pressing in on the metal door, West and his men headed up, the zombies broke open the door and pushed their way in, some of them had their skin turn open from the broken metal door but they felt no pain as they kept pushing forward quickly.

West and his men entered the top room where Travis and the others were waiting

"We need to get out of here" Bonnie said; West looked at the windows which had iron bars, he shut the walls open and pulled the bars away then collected a rope from Michael and tied it to another window bar

"Climb out now!" West said and they began climbing, the zombies began banging on the door, they climbed out one after another, West began climbing down when the zombies busted into the room, one of them jumped out the window with West, they others shot it as it hit the ground, West got down and they climbed over a fence into another compound, the zombies began pouring themselves out the window

"Move it!" West said and they ran through the compound out into another compound then jumped over another fence into another compound then West stopped them, there was silence, they began moving up front to the gate of the compound, West pushed the iron gate open slowly and it gave a squeezy sound, they entered the street which was deserted, West led them across the street and they walked in between two buildings, Michael pulled out the tab and checked the map

"Are we on path?" West asked

"Yes sir" Michael replied and they kept moving.

As they came out into the next street there was the large hospital ahead, the building was about 15 to 18 stories high, its gate was wide open

"Come in General, we found the hospital" West said

"Excellent work Colonel" General Eze said

"We're moving in" West said

"Good luck" General said; West and his men observed the environment then moved in towards the hospital…
