Chapter Five

"Goodluck! Goodluck!" Peter came to Goodluck's room

"How far what's up?" Goodluck opened the door and he entered excitedly

"We have been assigned to the American soldiers oh" Peter said with brightness in his face

"Really?"

"Yes and tomorrow Lt. Scott will brief us the mission but men I heard something oh" Peter sat down

"Heard what?"

"Those Americans want to jump out of a plane with parachute into Orodo" Peter said

"What?! You are joking" Goodluck said

"No… this is for real. That is the strategy their Colonel came up with and we are jumping with them" Peter said

"Jesus! But why na… which kind thing be this one na" Goodluck questioned, he had worry all over his face

"Bro fear not, they will put us through tomorrow, okay?"

"Bro that is not good enough oh, what if my parachute no work?" Goodluck asked and Peter laugh

"Guy chill, its an opportunity to experience something more adventurous" Peter said

"I am so uncomfortable right now" Goodluck said…

The sun was rising from the east, the sound of plane engine warming up can be heard, there was a fine large military plane waiting at the airport base, West and his men approached the plane, Lieutenant Scott followed behind walking with West; Lieutenant Scott stood outside with West while his men entered

"We have additional soldiers coming along" Lieutenant Scott said, West looked back and saw Goodluck and a few other coming towards them, he then looked at Scott

"Are you sure about this?" West asked; West doesn't think it's a good thing to have more soldiers with him

"We are not exactly sure about a lot now Colonel" Scott replied

"Alright then" West said

"We have communicated our men in the swamp, they will be waiting for your smoke signal once you touch down" Lt Scott said

"One more thing Colonel, there is someone who I believe can be very useful in situations like this, he has experienced something similar to this and survived" Scott said

"If you think he can be of help then he is welcome" West said

"Alright sir, good luck" Scott said, West got into the plane with the other men and the plane took off…

Lieutenant Scott watched as the plane flew off south, he dialed a number and puts the call to his ear

"Hello Agent" Scott said

"Lieutenant Scott… been a long time" Ikenna replied

"Indeed, how are you doing?" Scott asked

"Living in peace" Ikenna said

"(Scoffs) sounds like you about to blow me off already" Scott said

"Depends on what you have in mind" Ikenna said

"How is Oluchi"

"She loves it here" he said

"That's good… Ikenna we need you"

"I was expecting that"

"We got a problem" Scott said

"I know… I watched the news" Ikenna said

"We need your help" Scott said

"Maybe I need to remind you that I don't work for the Nigerian government, I am an asset of the United States but unfortunately I'm retired" Ikenna said

"I know but you saw the news, it's the same town involved but this time a large situation affecting a vast area of land" Scott said

"More reason why I am not coming back there… besides you have the help of the United states Army" Ikenna said, Scott inhales deeply then exhales with his mouth then licked his lower lip as he lowered his face

"I believe you have an experience and more understanding about this" Scott said

"You are wrong Scott, you never understand things like that, no one understands a psycho who is privileged with supernatural abilities… let the Americans deal with it" Ikenna said

"Thank you for your service Agent Ikenna" Scott said

"It was an honor" Ikenna replied, Scott hanged up…

The sound of the plane in the air at about 10,000ft, sliding through the clouds, the soldiers all strapped in their gears and parachute.

Starting with Colonel West Brown he was strapped with two Daggers, his white desert eagle and an M4A1

Staff Sergeant Michael Copper strapped with Dagger M9 and MK16Mod0

Sec. Lieutenant Lawrence Stone strapped with Dagger, M1014 and MK16Mod0

Sec. Lieutenant Travis Hill strapped with Dagger, MK16, MK20SSR

Sec. Lieutenant John Cheng strapped with Dagger, MK17, 500MILLS

Sec. Lieutenant Lee Long strapped with Dagger, MK17, M1014

Lieutenant Bonnie Eastwood strapped with Daggers, HK416, MK28

In their bags they had food and a few other equipments like grenades and smoke bombs

Goodluck couldn't help but admire their gears because it was nothing like what they were given. The Nigerian military had them strapped with AK47. Clearly Goodluck looked anxious and uncomfortable, not about going into the mystery lands but about making that jump.

"Drop the smoke signals once you open your parachute so the other soldiers from the forest can find us" West said to Travis who nodded

"Alright everyone, we are about to make the jump in 60 seconds… Satellite imagery shows we are clear for landing here… alright let's move" West ordered and they all got up; he opened the plane door and there was the sound of heavy wind

"Now remember to count to 10 then pull you strap, let's go" West said loudly and Lawrence dived out, followed by Travis, Michael, John, Lee, Bonnie, then Peter and the others but Goodluck couldn't bring himself to jump

"Hey! What are you waiting for?" West asked

"I'm scared of heights!" Goodluck said

"The time frame is short, don't think, just jump" West said then pushed him out the plane, then followed.

Travis was first to open his parachute then he pulled the pin from the smoke grenade and red smoke pumped out, Lawrence did same and Michael too; Goodluck was screaming in fear and didn't even bother counting to 10, he knew that if he didn't stop being a bitch he was going to become pancake was he hits the earth, he quickly pulled the parachute strap and his parachute was launched. The sky had soldiers descending in parachute with red smokes

As West descended he could see red smoke signal going up in the sky; luckily everyone made a successful landing.

There was an ear piece in the ear of every soldier allowing them to hear the military base

"Colonel West can you hear me?" it was General Eze

"Loud and Clear" West replied

"We will establish communication with Washington DC in 10 seconds" General Eze said

"Colonel West, this is General Kane… how is it going?"

"We just landed… no fun yet, not a single living thing in sight" West said

"Bring up satellite imageries" Bonnie said to Michael who held a tab, he operates it for some seconds

"Can't get any images here" Michael said

"What do you mean can't get images? We just did earlier" West asked; at the base in Washington, the computer gurus accessed the land space of Nigeria through the satellite but also couldn't get images of the place

"Sir, we cannot get images of the location… it's like they entered a zone that doesn't exist" expert said to General Kane

"How is that possible?" general Kane said

"General any images over there?" West asked

"We are unable to get visuals of your location, you will have to proceed" General Kane said

"Copy that" West said and signaled his men and they moved

"It's weird, the satellite can't pick up this place anymore, it's like it doesn't exist" Michael said

"We are in for some real shit" Lawrence said; it was a conference communication whereby both Nigeria and America could listen and send info to West and his men.

"Lt. Scott we are waiting for the swamp soldiers" West said

"Alright hold on, we are trying to contact them but it's not going through" Lt. Scott said, Bonnie looked at West

"I think we dived into a trap" she said, West sighs

"Let's stay sharp… Lt. Scott keep trying, we'll wait a bit" West said

After a while West looked at his watch

"We have to move now, let's go" West said and they moved

"I will reach you when we establish communication" Scott said

"Copy that" West replied.

The sun still rising, the market wide and dry road, market goods were arranged in some shops while some shops appeared to have been abandoned half way while the owners were setting up the goods for the day, there was a soft wind that blew across the quiet market, all soldiers had their guns pointing forward like West did, the wind blew a little stronger causing a wooden window to move back and forth with a squeaky sound, one of the Nigerian soldier pointed his gun in that direction

"This place is freaking me out already" Michael said as his fingers tighten on his machine gun; West stopped then looked at the Nigerian soldiers

"Are you boys sure you want in on this? Because I have no idea what is in there waiting for us" West said pointing down the dusty path

"Yes sir, we are good" they replied

"Generals, we are heading down south east" West said

"Good luck Colonel" General Eze said

"Good luck West" General Kane said
