Ch. 22 Rhea iii

-Kara-

I go back to my room, taking a shower in my bathroom

I then walk out to find Rhea pulling up her little shorts

"Hi" she smiles after catching my eyes eating her up

We walk over to the front door where we found Ignia sitting at the table petting Beast

"Such a good boy" he whispers "hey you guys mind taking Beast with you?"

"S-sure" Rhea says "come here Beasty" she calls Beast over

Beast wags his tail, before prancing over

The door opens "hey dad dad" Igneel smiles after coming back from the little walk with Irene and Layla

"Hey Igneel" Rhea looks up at him

"Oh hey kid" he smiles

"Where's Kari?" Rhea asks

"She stayed at the festival with Mia." Layla says

"Is Junior with them?" I ask

"Sure is" Igneel smiles

"Okay, we're gonna get going now" I tell Ignia

"Hmm?" He looks up at me "oh… yeah sure" he gives me a little smile

I return the smile before heading out with Rhea

I took Rhea to the festival and the three of us had a bunch of fun riding all the roller coasters and we finally reached the top of the Ferris wheel where we could see all the clouds surrounding Othrys

"You know real islands down under are surrounded by water" Rhea says

"Really?" I ask, remembering long ago being told the same thing by… Isis

She nods, looking back at the setting sun "y-you see that?" She asks pointing at a little shining bright light falling back down to Gaia

"What was that?" I ask

"I-I don't know" she whispers before a beautiful bell rings all across Othrys

I get a chill run down my spine after seeing it disappear again into the clouds

"You want to check it out?" I ask

"I-I don't know"

"C'mon" I grab her hand

"Beast!" I shout

Ge quickly stands up

"Grrr" he bellows as he slowly changes his form. Sprouting wings right out his sides as he slowly doubled his size till he turned into a black horse with wings

"Hey, a Pegasus!" Rhea jumps on top of Beast

"Pegasus?" I hop on right behind her

"Yeah that's what they call horses with wings" she giggles excitedly

"Alright then let's go Beast" I pat his belly and he takes off, heading straight for the sunset as fast as he could

About thirty minutes later we finally arrived

"Right here Beast" Rhea says as Beast lands right on the edge, turning into a snake in the process

"Wow that's so awesome" Rhea giggles as Beast slithers around my arm

"Hehe*" I giggle "I know"

"So what do you think that was?" Rhea asks crawling over to the edge

"It could have been some kind of bell" I sit down right beside her

"Hmm…that was weird" she sits back

I nod as we found ourselves watching the sunset disappear and the full moon lighting up the night sky

"It's so beautiful" Rhea sighs

"Yeah"

"Do you remember what it was like living down there?"

"Not really. It's been thousands of years. I don't remember much"

"Oh right…" she watches the clouds go beneath us

We sit there for a while just talking, forgetting about the weird bell we heard before

"Ahem*" Rhea clears her throat

"Hmm?"

"You know we're all alone out here" she says instantly getting bright red in embarrassment

"Oh…" I grab her hand

"So…" she smiles widely

"You want to?"

She nods before crawling onto my lap

"I don't know, Atlas said he seen them come over here" the girl says

"Man why Atlas be sticking his nose in everyone's business" he whines

"You know him, he hates Kara just as much as Cronus does" they sniff around

"Hehe*" the guy giggles "not gonna lie, I'd like to see that boys head on a stick just as much as they do" he says throwing a rock over the edge "And if Cronus catches Kara with Rhea you know it'll get ugly" he giggles excitedly

"Whatever, I doubt they're here" the girl walks to our bush

"Easy there" the guy says

"Y-yeah" she backs up a bit as the edge we were on began shaking "this cliff is going to crumble" she adds

"We should get going" the guy says

"Sure, I guess Atlas was just trippin out" she jumps into the air turning right back into a griffin beside her partner

They circle around a few times before finally deciding to go

"Heh*" I look at Rhea "that was close" I whisper

She smiles widely as the ground began trembling

I watch the smile on Rheas face disappear as the floor we sat on crumbled

"Kara!" She yelps

I barely manage to catch her wrist as I hanged off of some root sticking from the ground

"P-please don't let go Kara" she begs as the roots slowly snapped one by one

"I-I'd never" I grunt, trying my best to pull her up without the roots snapping

"Beast!" I growl as he slithered up my arm and back onto the land

He quickly turned into an elephant and started lowering his trunk to grab my wrist when the last root I was holding on to snapped

"Eeek!" Rhea yelps as I wrapped my arms tightly around her

We suddenly began free falling straight through the clouds

"Kara!" Rhea cries

"It'll be okay" I assure her

I open my arms, trying to slow us down but we were already falling way to fast

She digs her head into my arms as I look up seeing if I could find Beast, but…

He wasn't on the cliff..

Someone else was..

Is that… Ignia?

I try making out the figure crouching down just watching us fall

He had a Cigar in between his middle and ring fingers and smoke slowly seeping out of his mouth

But once I blink, whoever it was disappears..

Was that… really him?

Couldn't be…

I finally spotted Beast

He was a large falcon slicing right straight through the air, coming straight for us

Only he was miles away "We'll be fine" I tell Rhea as we come closer and closer to the ground

The screech of us picking up speed was almost as loud as Beast desperate roar racing to our aid

"We'll be fine" I repeat to myself

I feel Beasts talons wrap around my back and neck

I open my eyes just as he forced his wings open making what sounded like thunder that sent a small shockwave through the island beneath us

"Nghk" he grunts slowly flapping onto the ground only a few feet from where he managed to stop

"Kara?" Rhea finally opens her eyes as Beast carefully puts us down before falling over from exhaustion

"I told you we'd be fine" I huff, getting real dizzy all of a sudden

"That's g-good" Rhea slowly drifts off

And..

And so do I

-hours later-

"I mean look at the size of that thing" I hear outside

I slowly sit up

I was in some kind of hut… I think… I was taught about something like this in class once. how early humans made houses like these

"Rhea?!" I quickly remember

Where the hell are we?

I look around finding Rhea sound asleep in a bed on the other side of the room

"Beast" I whisper

"Yeah that thing is huge" I hear coming from outside

"Beast!" I kick down the door seeing my buddy locked in a cage

"What are you doing to him?!" I demand

"Easy kid you shouldn't be out of bed" I feel someone put a hand on my shoulder

"DON'T TOUCH ME!" I grab his wrist and I throw him over my shoulder

"Hey calm dow-" I head butt the guy that came behind me before I launch myself to Beast, kicking the door down in an instant

"y-you okay Beast?" I ask

he shakes his head, his wing was so messed up, maybe even broken

He couldn't switch forms like this

"You're going to be okay, alright boy?" I tell him

He nods as I turn around taking a foot to the chest that slammed me into the ground

"The hell you think you're doing?" the guy snares slapping Beast aside before he could fight back

"Nghk*" I grunt "leave him alone" I cough

"Who are you kid?" he shoves his spear into my shoulder

"Nghk* let him go" I grunt

"Nobody takes on two of my men that easily" I feel a sharp pain in my shoulder as he slowly pushes down on his spear

"Nghk*" I bite my tongue "K-Kara" I finally say "A-Amaterasu, Kara" I grumble

"Amaterasu?" he takes a second "Kara? I see named after the Titan God of War, Amaterasu Kara"

I nod

It was the official title given to me by Ignia. Since I'm always picking fights and my mere presence makes people angry and agitated

"Whatever" he looks at Beast "take your pet" he grumbles

"K-Kara?" I hear Rhea as whoever this dude was steps off, offering me a hand

I crawl back against Beast slowly getting back to my feet, pulling him out of the cage

"Kara!" Rhea tackles me onto the ground

"Rhea?!" I feel her force her lips onto mine "y-your okay" she huffs

"Heh* y-yeah" I look around at the crowd gathering

"Rhea?" The same guy as before asks

Rhea nods

"I'm Kalgara," he offers Rhea a hand "mind telling us where you came from?" He asks as she takes his hand

"O-Othrys" she says

Kalgara gives us a skeptical look
