Ch. 25 Despair

Pov.

-Kara-

"Gahh?!" I sit up suddenly

"Hey kid" I see Ignia on the other side of the bed

I move my blanket aside

I thought…

I look down at my lap, trying to hold back the tears

No there's no way I was just dreaming

I clench my fists

Ignia sighs

"Does this mean I…"

How could I fail Rhea like this

Hestia..

It's like..

I abandoned them

"We had a good run, don't you think?" Ignia says

"Wh-what?" I look up at him

He smiles

"It isn't your time yet, kid" he stands up

"Wh-what do you mean?" I stand up behind him but I notice I was about as small as I was when we first met

"We don't have much time" he says

"F-for what?" I have so many questions "b-but Ignia I-"

"Listen," he crouches down "you're special, you really are, kid" he smiles "but that big head of yours is going to get you killed one day" he pokes my forehead

"Mgh*" I step back "h-hey" I giggle, rubbing my forehead

The smile on his face fades away

"I had the power to slay the most powerful being in the cosmos, yet…" he stops

"Acnologia.. he's just horrible, why couldn't you do it? I-I know you could've"

"I couldn't bring myself to do it, not to my own son" he sighs

"Ignia?" I whimper under my breath

He clears his throat "anyways" he sets his hands on my head "I have a little something for you" I feel him force my eyes shut much like what Acnologia did to me

"Ignia?" I ask with a shaky voice

"Hush child" he gulps "take my eyes" he says

"Wh-what do you mean?"

I could feel the warmth of his smile as a teardrop lands on my forehead

"Of course it is you who gave me such gift" he says

"What are you talking about, Ignia?" I ask

"It is time for you to head back now" I feel his lips on my forehead "this is goodbye for now, Kara" he sniffs

"Till we meet again… father"

Pov.

-Rhea-

I sit up

"Ouch" I rub my neck

"Y-you're finally up m'lady" I hear the village elder

I quickly jump to my feet "where's Kara?!" I storm outside

"That little" I clench my fist

I look up at the sky, covered in the darkest clouds you could ever see pouring rain down onto the land

"It's been raining like this for the past 15 minutes" Kalgara says

"Dammit, that idiot" I clench my fist "I-I have to go"

He sighs "well, I can't stop you" he holds his hands up

"Mmh" I hear Beast whine

"Aww it's okay boy" I rub his head "take good care of these people, okay? I'll be back with Kara, I promise" I give him a little kiss on his head before I watch as he turns into a massive snake that stretched around the village

He lowers his head

"Hey, good idea Beast" I jump onto his head "Alright I'll be back as soon as possible" I tell the villagers

"Understood m'lady" the elder bows

"Please see to the young Lords well being" Kalgara adds

Kara, that idiot

I nod before Beast shoots straight through the clouds

Once he reached his limit I kick off his head using water bending to use the rain to help push me forth

"There!" I shout seeing the edge as I push through one last time

"Nghk*" I grunt as I pull myself up just barely reaching the edge

"Heh* alright" I giggle to myself

I slowly get back on my feet

I pat my clothes before looking up

"Wh-what?"

Everything's…

Gone…

The mountains, the water, the entire Delta section of Othrys had been completely leveled

"KARA !" I look around desperately before I see two corpses laying beside each other

"Kara!" I hurry over

Ignia was sitting on his ankles with Kara's head on his lap

His thumbs were over his eyes lids as if he were keeping them shut

"Ignia, what happened?!" I sit down beside Kara

"N-no please K-Kara don't-" I began cleaning the blood off his chest so I could better see his wounds

"Ignia" I shake his shoulder

…

"Ignia?" I say again as his arm drops to his side

Wait..

H-he's not…

I set two fingers on his wrist…

Why?

How?

"Kara" I whisper as I pull his head into my lap

He had three massive claw marks across his chest

The cuts were so deep they chipped his ribs

"What the hell h-happened" I press my forehead against his as my tears along with the heavy rain began washing away all the blood from his face

"P-please" I beg

'Yeah I have to drink it every day' I remember what he told me long ago

Th-that's right

I quickly slit my wrist before pushing the wound onto his mouth

He unconsciously gulps down my blood and I watch as his wounds began sizzling

Only the huge claw marks didn't seem to be getting any smaller

Dammit we were gone for a day. How in the world could any of this happen?

Is it even possible for someone like Ignia to be taken down like this?

"Still breathing?" I hear Cronus

"P-papa" I turn around

"That should be enough you know" he says

"Oh… right" I noticed I was still feeding Kara my blood

I close up my wound

…

Wait

"Who did this?" I ask Cronus

"Who do you think?" He asks

I get to my feet

"Acnologia" he says

"Why didn't you help Ignia?" I notice he was completely untouched

He smiles

"Now why would I do that?

"I…" I back up

No…

Cronus… he wouldn't

"You pig" I launched at him "you monster, how could you?!" I punch and kick at his legs

"You monster y-you" I cry "how could you!" My fist stops inches from his face

I could feel his fist dig into my stomach knocking the wind out of me

I lost all the strength from my body in that instant he grabs my hair tightly, holding me up to his eye level

He looks at me up and down before examining his hand

"You and that devil, huh?" He glares at Kara

…

Dose he know? Already?

"Nghk" I could feel my consciousness slowly fading as he threw me over his shoulder leaving Kara… to die

Pov.

-Kara-

I slowly open my eyes

What the?

I'm sure I…

Everything's gone….

He destroyed everything…

I look back at Ignia

His eyes were shut

He looked as if he were only sleeping…

I force myself back to my feet

"Igneel… Mia… Irene please be alright" I bring two fingers up to my forehead and I began searching for their life energy with the little strength I had

Igneel his energy…

It's fading…

I teleport to Igneel's location

The house was a wreck

"Igneel?" I whimper under my breath

He was holding Layla who had Junior… dead in her arms

He had this blank look on his face

"He.. he took my Layla" he raises his head "why'd he take my baby?"

I drop to my knees

"N-no way" I huff

They can't be…

Why?

Why is this happening?

I grab my hair

Please…

None of this is happening.. it can't be…

"I-it's okay, baby" I hear a voice from the other room

"Irene?" I force myself to my feet

I head over to the room where I found Irene draped in blood and…

"Ghk" I cover my mouth

Semen..

Half Irene's body was hanging off the bed and Mia's little body slumped on top with both her holes gaping open

It was disgusting

"I-Irene?" I make my way over to the two

They were still alive

"I-It's okay baby g-girl" she whispers

I pull Mia off of Irene and I wrap her in a blanket before doing the same with Irene

I could hear water dripping in the bathroom

I slowly open the door to find Kari

With a metal rod pierced straight through her chest

In the same awful state he left Mia and Irene

"Kari?" I whisper

I carefully close her eyes

"Not you too" I clench my fists

This isn't fair

I pull on the metal rod removing it from her chest

I wet a towel before wiping off all the blood and semen off her body

"C'mere Kari" I sniff after wrapping her in a clean towel

I carry her out to Igneel

"K-Kari?" He looks up

I nod

I watch his eyes full of tears as he realized

"I-I'm sorry Igneel" I set her down in his arms

"B-but why?" He asks himself "why am I still… breathing?"

"Igneel?" I sniff

"It's not fair" he tears up as he pulled Layla into his face "wake up baby" he rubs his nose against hers

"C'mon Kari you too baby girl" he kisses his daughter's forehead "just… just wake up.. please"

He watched his family get ravaged by that monster

His own brother..

"Rhea…" I remember

I put two fingers to my forehead searching for her energy

"She's at the castle?"

Why?

I use instant transmission to teleport to her location
