C14 - Stages

"What do you mean, wrong place at the wrong time, I was beside Lady Eve and I was inside the dining room, so how was I in the wrong place" Shane was getting angry because saying he was at the wrong place at the wrong was a lie, he was supposed to be in the safest place beside an elven noble who would attack him although he had no idea the dynamics of the nobility system in this world, still it was supposed to be the safest place.

"That was the wrong place, I know you are new here, so allow me to enlighten you, you aren't to stand too close to Lady Eve, for your safety" the nurse replied as she checked Shane's body, she cast a spell on his body.

Shane felt energy enter his body, and his body stopped aching him, he looked at the nurse and asked "Was that healing magic" It wasn't like he had imagined, he felt the strange energy flowing through his body messaging his aching body, and it was a strange feeling.

The nurse looked at him, with a curious expression on her face "Yes, it was, is this your first time seeing healing magic" she asked, it was weird for someone to not know the simple healing magic, it was one of the basic spells that every mage class learn at the beginning of their magic journey.

'Shit, I fu*k up, again' he cursed himself, that was the third time he had done something weird since he got here, first was when he had almost given his former name followed by accidentally wanting to pet a wolfkin ear, and now acting surprised when he experienced the healing magic 'I Still haven't gotten used to this world, although I have been here for a few days now'.

He looked at the nurse and replied "Actually, not many people know this about me except Lady Eve and Lady Ellen, but I recently lost my memories so seeing something like this still surprises me" Shane lied, he knew he had to stick with the lie, it would be a lot easier to explain if he ever didn't anything strange again.

"Ohh that explains it, so you lost your memories, let's take a look if you are lying or not "She moved closer to Shane, she stood beside Shane as she placed her palms on Shane's head.

"Haaaaaaa" Shane screamed out loud as he felt something pricking his brain, it felt like someone was pricking his brain with different needles, and his nose began to bleed as the nurse continued to drive into Shane's memories.

She saw everything Shane had done ever since he transmigrated, as she got to the part where Shane woke up in the desert, she tried to move past that point only to get lost and find herself in space, she could see many Stars, many worlds or what looked like worlds, some were completely dark while some had a sign of life in it, everything felt so real that she thought her body was in the actual space, she turned around only to see a massive eye lock on to her.

The single eye was massive, it was as if it could see the whole universe, it had a golden iris the eye stared at the nurse for a few seconds before a small beam shot towards the nurse, the beam hit the nurse right on her left palm as she raised them trying to block the beam with her magic but it failed her as the beam passed through with ease.

It imprinted a sigil on her palm as her consciousness was forcefully pulled out of Shane's mind, both the nurse and Shane collapsed.

As the nurse collapsed her consciousness was pulled into another space, "Where am I, why's it so dark" She wondered, she couldn't see anything, everything was pitch black and she felt as if she was floating, it gave her a very similar feeling she recently experienced.

All of a sudden, she felt herself falling from a great height, she screamed as she fell, she only stopped when she suddenly felt her feet on solid ground, she opened her eyes only to see herself standing in a palace where everything was made of gold, from the candle to the throne everything was made of gold.

As she moved around going towards the throne she heard a beautiful voice, the voice was so enticing that she almost lost herself "For an Elf, you look beautiful" the voice said, The nurse turned around trying to look for the owner of the voice, but she saw no one. "Who is there" the nurse asked in panic.

"Rejoice Mortal, for you stand in the presence of a god" The nurse felt a heavy pressure weighing on her as she fell on her knees, it was suffocating her, "Am sorry great one, please render this lowly creature mercy" She replied, the force disappeared as she regain her breath.

Presently Shane was standing in front of a massive Door inside a giant white color hall, he had tried all the attacks he could use to break the door, but he couldn't, after punching the door a few times and remembering the amount of pain he went through as his fist hit the door, Shane sighed "I have been in here for a while, I wonder what that damn nurse did to me, what if she saw everything and the system" he panicked at thought of his secret being exposed so early.

[Host, don't need to worry about the discovery of the system by others]

Shane heard the system respond for the first time on its own, after spending 2 days in this world, Shane had discovered that if he didn't ask the system question it wouldn't say anything at all, so hearing the system voice surprised him.

"What do you mean by that and wait... You can speak?" He asked the system, about his early interaction with the system, and the system always replied in text and now the system spoke for the first time.

[Yes we can speak, the system was in a calibration phase so until the system fully merged with the host DNA, the system could only respond with text] the system explained.

"Ohhh, that makes sense, so you have been merging with my DNA and now you are fully merged that why you are speaking and can anyone hear you apart from me" Shane asked, he felt that it would be weird if other people could hear the system.

[No they can't, right now we are speaking directly into your mind, we are like a thought, and you can speak to us with your mind as well instead of speaking out loud]

"Again totally makes sense, so tell me what you meant about not being worried about you being discovered, and why do you keep saying we," Shane asked as he found it weird when the system said we for the first time, he thought it was a glitch but again the system said we so he decided to ask.

[You can call us the chronicle, we are items created to help Mortals become stronger reaching a height only few Mortals can get to before they perish]

"What do you mean by that, who created you," Shane asked.

[Allow us to finish our explanation, After the merging finished we took our time connecting to this world's primal system, in this world every person is born with a system but not as advanced as us,

The system only helps them till they rank up from the [Mortal] stage before it stops working, so seeing a mortal stage being with a system means nothing to them]

"Ohhh, wait what do you mean mortal rank individual, is that like some kind of level system"

[Yes, it is and it goes like this for mage Mortal, Apprentice, Adept, Expert, Master, and the legendary stage and warriors 1st-circle down to the 6th-circle and each stage and circle has 15 levels]

From the brief explanation, Shane was able to put together what the system meant, to rank up to the next stage he would have to reach level 15 in his current Mortal stage to rank up to the next Rank.
