Marcus and his Kukan Spirit

The man with almond brown skin blocks his hand straight to his face when a ray of sunlight hits his protruding coal-black eyes. He simply avoided the freaky feeling of the sun's heat that was swallowing him entirely.

He sat up to the cold dried leaves that sheltered his body for a long time. His hair covering the front of his head was a total mess, and some tips were falling to his oval-shaped face making him more attractive.

The place he was in was a cave-like house, having one window and a door carved into half of an oblong shape. It was cold and lonely out there, leaving no trace of having a companion.

However, aside from his good features, a tiredness and sleepy aura have been indicated by his bloodshot eyes. How can it be not? He was asleep for almost two hundred years, or let's just say, he was dead for that time.

His shoulders dropped, and he moved and twitched his fingers examining if everything was possible.

'Am I alive?' he asks himself.

The man was half-naked, and scars and bruises were all around his broad chest. It was not a simple scar, as it was deep and sliced by three sharp claws.

He's into remembering what happened after waking up today.

They were ambushed!

Their Oxon pack was attacked by a neighboring Pack led by an Alpha named Naston. They wanted their territory so badly that it led to war and the death of their fellow wolves. They tried everything to put the situation under control – but they failed.

"I was betrayed."

"Yes, we are betrayed." Indeed his wolf friend shouted to him. It was Axel, his wolf spirit.

"You remember it too, do you?"

"How would I not, she trapped us," Axel replied.

The young man clenched his fist and tremendously punched it to where he was resting his body.

"I want them dead."

"Neither do I my friend. Don't worry, I already have a way to let them taste our sweet revenge." Axel with his deep and husky voice speaks to his mind.

"What is it?"

The moon was bright and bloody, an eclipse appeared after two hundred years. Wolves are powerful and unstoppable in this state. Howls and hunting are all over the Peninsula Forest. High-rank Wolves chase for their prey. Their world has changed over the last hundred years. Strong Packs become a ticking bomb to those who are weak and unarmed. And it doesn't sound good for the Moon Goddess, the problem leads her to resurrect the wolf who can change the previous state.

Every one hundred years she was resurrecting one dead wolf soul to finish his or her business on the world. Although she knows that the man only wants revenge, she still grants his wish. As the man had the fate of changing the world of werewolves, his betrayed soul became stronger and unbearable.

"You are here," the Moon Goddess sweetly smiled at the young man walking in his direction to her.

The white elegant dress she was wearing was dancing with the cold breeze of wind slightly hugging her. Her long silky grayish hair decorated with scented white flowers on top, came along with the motion of her invisible partner. The Moon Goddess's emerald close-set eyes are powerful and dominating. She is a figure of beauty and a warrior.

"Have you decided? The Moon is nearly to go home, you can take your wish back or I'll give it to life." Moon Goddess straightly asked the good-looking man who was now in front of her, half naked with eyes full of anger.

"I wanted them to suffer more than we have. Can you give in my hand the justice I wanted for my family?" The young werewolf man was supposed to be the heir of Alpha Malco of Oxon Pack, two hundred years ago.

He is Marcus Morrison, a trained military wolf, brave and full of dignity. He was the firstborn, with a passion for becoming the next leader.

"Of course, every hundred years I resurrect one life of a wolf who comes from the dead. And this time is your lucky year, I've chosen your soul to get the resurrection. But there were consequences for every life I give back "

Marcus furrowed his brows, curious about what the Moon Goddess said. He asks further after realizing that he is willing to do everything in exchange for another life.

"You can't kill anyone, value life like I did. Your life source will come from the moon, so only the moon can open your wolf form. You can not transform just like you want it. In short, there is a limitation." The Moon Goddess explains to him the deal they will be sealing.

"Okay, I understand but it is for good? My resurrection?"

In Marcus's mind, if there is a limit to his shape-shifting, the life he can get may be the same. He also doesn't simply believe that there is no exchange for everything he will have.

The Goddess smiled at his question. The man is indeed wise, as like what Kunka said.

"Life comes with a replacement life. But don't worry about that, your friend has already done it." Every smile of the Moon Goddess seems to be an effective medicine for any kind of illness. Soothing and healing every wound.

"What do you mean?"

"After your Revenge, one soul will be taken back into the domain. And there is no turning back."

Marcus was shocked by what Moon Goddess said, and whose soul would he give in return?

"Alright, when I finish what I want, you can take me back, I have nothing to give you except myself."

"There's no need, just like I said, your wolf friend has already done it."

'Axel?'

"What are you saying?"

"When we can avenge them, I will give my spirit in return, Marcus. So focus on this mission, do it for our clan." He was shocked by his friend's wolf spirit's response to him. Marcus kept shaking his head, he didn't agree with Axel's wishes.

"No. It's not possible, in that case, let's stop it. Let's forget about that revenge." Marcus has turned his back on the Goddess and is ready to return to the dry grass he was lying on earlier.

'Marcus, stop!' Axel commanded the hard-headed young man he's been with for a very long time. He knew him so well, that he couldn't resist his desires. And if Marcus wanted this revenge he would surely do it, he'll just push him more for this idea.

"No, you listen to me, Axel. I own this body, I am in charge! So shut up, we'll go back to the cave." Marcus headed back to their tomb cave, he plans to spend all of his soul life waiting for the right time to get back to breathing. Let him rot in there rather than sacrifice his wolf spirit. Marcus owes so much to Axel, that he never thinks of letting him go.

Marcus angrily set his back on the hard-like mattress they had. Yeah, being in the state of knowing what is happening in his surroundings will be difficult for him, he will surely endure every pain and regret he has for not taking the Moon Goddess's offer.

'Marcus–'

'Shut it up! I don't want to hear anything. Let's take a rest, my soul had been tired right after I had conscious.' He turned away from the blinding light from the large moon. That beautiful sight was still bleeding, it seemed saddened by Marcus's decision.

Marcus wakes up from a nightmare. He was being chased in the woods. But as he was going to get up, he realized that he was in the spirit mode. The dark room tells more that Axel has taken over their body. He began shouting and commanding Axel to stop, and sad to say, there was no response from the wolf spirit who was now on his form.

His grayish thick fur combined with black on the tail part signifies that they're on a run. Marcus' coal eyes turned dark orange– how could that be? He has reddish pupils when in his wolf form.

Axel's strength and speed were on a full pack. He can feel his energy on the inside. Axel was overflowing with power, and it was very unusual for Marcus. Their spirits were tied up ever since he was born, he knew him so as he was.

'There is a mistake!' He thought.

"Axel, what are you doing?" He outburst, knowing his friend has taken over the body without permission.

"Doing what will be the best for us," growls Axel who was now jumping through every other two trees he passed on.

"No! You are not getting into this. I am declining the Moon Goddess offer. We should go back."

"I am sorry my friend, but I already agreed to the Goddess a long time ago. She had returned to me my full power, in return for going back to my true home." Axel dodges to a thick branch of a hundred-year-old tree. Then, he keeps on running, he should pass the Mountain of Furs before the Red Moon disappears.

"What?" Marcus doesn't know what to ask or say to him as he doesn't understand what he's babbling at.

"I will be sharing with you my power that I've been hiding as a Kukan. Hundreds of years ago, I abandoned my responsibility as a Kistune warlord. I felt sadness, fear, and disappointment in myself after what happened to someone I'd learned to lean on. I hid in being a spirit, a wolf spirit to your dying soul when you were born in the world. And now will be the time to come back to where I should be," Axel answered all Marcus' questions. He has no time for a long chi-chat. Axel must deliver Marcus to the end of the mountain before the day ends.

"Kitsune? You mean a fox?"

"Yes my brother, I've been with you, deceiving you by being a wolf spirit. And now, you must know all of this before I let go. But don't worry, I will come back whenever you need me crucially."

"You're joking." Marcus laughed nastily, he was not believing any of Axel's words. He doesn't want to.

"Today, Marcus from the heir of Alpha Malco, I am giving you the blessing of using my power as a Kukan. You avenge our father, mother, and all our dead family. You take my anger for me as I take my soul to where should I be. Take full charge of your body, my dear brother."

"No Axel! No!" Marcus tried everything to stop him, banging to move his spirit to the dark room he was in.

Axel who was now standing on the steep dead mountain, looked up to the moon and kept on howling. With his nine-golden tail swinging with the wind, his Kitsune power was combined with Marcus' wolf form. He was not a hybrid, just a blessed soul from a Spirit God.

Marcus was not ready to return, but there was nothing he could do right now.

Axel was in charge, and Marcus was resurrecting.
