Kara
God.
I quickly got out of the car as soon as the call with Sara ended. The parking lot was empty. There was no one there. Or so I thought. Until a person appeared between the cars. It was a man. I saw him looking at me from the other end of the parking lot.
My heart pumped blood. I felt my own heartbeats in my ears.
I prayed for Derek to appear and help me. I shouldn't have stayed alone in the car. I should have gone with him. Sara was right: I underestimated her. As long as I stayed in Seattle, she wouldn't leave me alone. I know Sara wanted me out of the city. But I also know she wanted me dead.
The guy waved at me. A chill ran down my spine. He walked slowly towards me. I was forced to step back. When I noticed he picked up the pace, I ran towards the exit of the parking lot. The doctor told me I shouldn't exert myself. Running wasn't a good idea for my pregnancy, but I had no other choice. It was run or attacked.
