(3)The trip that changed fate

Blaze's POV:

I snap my luggage bracelet around my wrist and make my way towards the front door, Adaline was following me. "Welp, it's time for me to go!" I exclaimed sadly while grabbing Pyro's leash and snapping it onto his service dog vest. He doesn't really need the leash but he has to be attached to one for the flight.

I looked back to my aunt to see that she had tears in her eyes. "Aw, Auntie don't cry!" I said as I pulled her into a hug. "I just hate that you will be spending your birthday all alone!" She said, then began to sob on my shoulder.

I sigh and pull away from the hug. "I won't be totally alone! Ill have Pyro" I said softly, trying to comfort her. She nodded and gave me a kiss on the cheek. "Bye, hope you have a nice trip! Just remember to text me every hour, on the hour!"

As she said this, I made my way out of the door, with Pyro right beside me, and towards the taxi that my aunt called for me about 20 minutes ago. I yelled back to her that I loved her, and then got into the cab, Pyro sitting beside me.

"Airport please," I asked the aging taxi driver. He nodded and began driving. I stared out of the window, watching the trees and houses pass by. I'm truly going to miss this place.

It seemed like forever before I made it to the airport, but it was only like 10 minutes. I watched as a plane was taking off, and sighed. "Here you go, keep the change," I said to the taxi driver, handing him a $50 bill. He gasped at me, while I just smiled and got out of the cab.

I walked through the doors and made my way through security. It took me a while with security because they had to make sure that Pyro was going to be allowed on the flight. When I finished with that, I and Pyro made our way to the line for the front desk. Since it was such late notice Adaline wasn't able to buy me a plane ticket ahead of time.

It was finally my turn so I walked up to the desk and asked for a ticket to Alaska. The lady at the desk nodded but looked concerned. "You know that there will be a stop in Seattle? And your final flight for Alaska will land in Seattle 6 days after your first flight?" She questioned.

"I am well aware, thank you for your concern though," I said while smiling up at her. She smiled back and carried on typing on her computer. "Ok sweetheart here's your plane ticket. That will be about $150" I stared at her shocked for a second before sighing and getting out the money Adaline sent with me. I'm used to it being a lot more, so I took a sniff of the air. Ah, she's a wolf and part of our pack. Makes sense. In total, I have about $50,000, but after the taxi and the plane ticket, I now have $49,800.

Once I got my ticket and passport I sat down in one of the more comfortable waiting chairs. I grabbed my phone and texted Adaline that I was in the airport, waiting on my plane.

A few minutes later my flight number was called and I had to make my way over to board the plane. Walking on I realized that it was very crowded. Luckily Pyro got the seat next to me so I don't have to deal with people, plus I got a window seat!

This might not be too bad, I thought to myself. I buckled me and Pyro up and sat back looking out of the window to my right. As we took off Pyro whimpered and laid his head on my lap. I lay my hand on his head and begin to gently stroke his soft fur.

It didn't take long for me to fall asleep, all I remember is closing my eyes and allowing the darkness to take over.

I was in a deep dream when I began to hear growling. As I slowly began to wake up, the growling got louder. I sit up half asleep to see Pyro growling at one of the waiters who seemed like he was trying to wake me.

"Pyro, down" as I said this Pyro looked back at me and slumped back into his seat. "Sorry about that, he's very overprotective of me" I explained to the shocked male. He nodded and explained that I needed to buckle since we were about to land. After that, he walked off, back towards the front of the plane. I looked over to Pyro and rolled my eyes.

He seemed to chuckle but laid back down. I buckled us both back up (even though I have no idea how we were unbuckled) and went back to looking out of the window.

Soon I felt the plane making its descent. I watched as the clouds began to disappear, tall buildings taking their place.

Once the plane landed, I and Pyro made our way off and towards the front of the airport. Walking outside I noticed it was nighttime. I began to walk down the street towards a hotel I found online.

Finally made it there I walk in and made my way to the front desk. "Hello, how may I help you," the lady behind the desk asked. I sniffed the air and immediately smelt wolf.

Beside me, Pyro began to quietly growl. Oh no! I just walked right into pack land.

"Um, I was just wondering if you had a room available?" I asked while taking a look around the lobby. No other wolves, for now.

I relaxed but soon tensed back up. The lady had pressed a button under her desk but kept talking to me like nothing happened. This wolf just alerted the pack here! Crap, crap, crap! I was luckily able to stay calm on the outside.

I took the room she was offering and ran towards the elevator. But It was too late, the pack had just walked through the door. I pressed the button for the elevator over and over again.

Soon enough I and Pyro were surrounded by 25 pack members. "Hello boys, I was just about to make dinner. Want to join me?" I asked, masking the fear I was feeling.

The Beta stepped forward but stopped when Pyro let out an earth-shattering snarl. I even felt a twang of fear. "Now that's not nice,," I said while frowning.

The pack growled and about half of them pounced.

Well this isn't going too well. I let out a scream and heard Pyro growling fiercely. Well looks like it's time to fight.
