All the new crew members were perplexed. I said, "Let's set sail for Marineford."

"Teach, I knew you were crazy, but this is pure suicide," said Avalo Pizarro, though the others remained silent, sharing his thoughts.

"It's true you don't know. Marineford is under attack right now by Whitebeard himself."

These words made the new members realize that their captain was not stupid but just insane.

"So, we're going to join the war to eliminate the marines, huh?" said Vasco Shot, who had found some alcohol on the ship.

"Haha, no. We're going to Marineford to kill and retrieve Whitebeard's devil fruit. After the fierce battle they're about to have, he won't be fit to reign as an emperor anymore. I'm going to take his place. The sea has been too calm, it needs a bit of a storm to make this world fun. Zehahaha!"

"And who will eat his devil fruit?" asked one of the new members, looking at Blackbeard with anticipation.

"Are you sure you can kill him alone?" asked Avalo Pizarro.

Teach looked at Pizarro and the rest of his crew and said, "If I can't beat him, then do you really think I deserve to be your captain? I'm sure I'll win. Killing him is the way to tell the world that I'm in the running for the title of emperor."

The crew understood the importance of Whitebeard's death, and seeing Teach so confident reassured some who had heard or seen Whitebeard's exploits. He took the route Lafitte had mapped out to avoid falling into the cascade that would bring them right into the middle of the war at Marineford. They eventually arrived behind Marineford to watch the spectacle of the war, waiting for their moment.

All objects were sucked into my darkness. I concentrated all the darkness into my fist and struck Whitebeard. "Liberation!"

The debris exploded towards Whitebeard, who countered with a quake, sending it all back. But unfortunately for him, I was no longer there. A darkness punch struck his visible brain, killing him instantly.

Silence followed, then various cries and insults.

Whitebeard Pirate: "Father! No! Teach, you'll pay for this!"

The marines trying to attack them were killed. They were well protected by his members.

Lafitte: "To be clear, this is a forbidden zone. You advance, you die."

Shiryu: "If he fails, do we split up?"
