The teacher, much to Mizuki's surprise, is an average chunin that has no relevance to the plot . Not so much as a filler episode to his name.
All this, despite teaching an entire village's future high command and two of the strongest shinobis to ever live.
Mizuki found it hilarious.
It is honestly surprising that he was able to be such a boring teacher, and yet in some way foster some of the best and brightest the ninja world has ever seen.
Mizuki spent most of the class chatting with Anko about random things and skimming through the textbook.
Sure enough, even though they were still a year up, it was like the difference between grades one and two.
Sure, for a kid the content is hard. But for someone with the mind of an adult? Childsplay.
(A/N: Pun Intended)
Still, Mizuki decided that it would be for the best to go over the textbooks in depth at some point.
There would be no sleep for him tonight.
Anko and Mizuki both got along quite well, each sharing common interests in sleeping and eating. And a lack of interest of what the teacher was saying.
Glancing behind him, Shisui was paying even less attention to what the teacher was saying than Mizuki was.
Rather, he had a playful smile on his face as he was staring down at a person in one of the front rows.
Kakashi Hatake.
Thinking about how good a fight that would be when it comes, Mizuki spent another few minutes observing his classmates in a desperate attempt to solve his boredom.
Asuma and Kurenai appeared to barely know each other as of yet; sitting on opposite sides of the classroom. Both diligently taking notes on what the teacher was saying.
Kakashi, similar to some of his other classmates, appeared disinterested on what the teacher was talking about, was reading a book on doton jutsu.
Turning back to Anko, they spent the remainder of the class chatting about random tidbits and looking out for one another whilst the other one took a much needed nap.
A comrade indeed.
After hearing the bell ring, the entire class got up and left for Taijutsu Practice.
Although he had gone through Shisui's vigorous training regiment for the past few days, Mizuki only found himself just barely in the top five in the class for his Taijutsu Skills.
Even lower for ninjutsu, with the majority of his classmates having some kind of specialization already, and several of the children ebing clan heirs, who have been trained since birth.
However, what welcomed Mizuki when he went outside to the training grounds was a complete surprise.
Rather than having a workout routine imposed on them, The instructor told the students to form a ring before he told them what they were doing.
Traditional Shinobi Sparring.
This clearly made virtually everyone happy as it finally gave them an activity that they could get behind and be excited about.
After the students had all created the ring, the Teacher started talking to the students, providing a refresher on the rules and the like.
Basically, the entire fight was exclusively empty handed taijutsu within a set ring. you exit the ring, you lose and you also lose if your back hits the ground.
"Lets see how the new students are, First up, lets have Obito vs Mizuki"
The vast majority of the students weren't to focused on the battle, although there were some people who had their interest piqued.
Shisui had a playful smile as he observed his two "students," looking forward to the fight.
Anko was also intrigued, curious to see what her new friend could do
Finally, and most prominently, there was Rin, who was currently acting as Obito's personal cheerleading squad.
Rin: "You can do it Obito!"
The Uchiha clearly had a light blush on his face as he entered the ring with his friend. Mizuki was totally going to grill him on that later, but it was time to fight.
They both wished each other good luck and had amicable smiles on their faces as they both did the hand sign for starting the match.
As soon as they did, the smiles between them both quickly faded as they got ready to face one another.
Clearly knowing that they could only beat their opponent if they used everything they had.
Both the boys rushed towards one another at a quick pace before the fight commenced.
Obito was the first to attack, drawing back his right arm, he threw a cross aimed at Mizuki's face.
Wasting no time, Mizuki dodged the attack by steeping just barely out of range before launching an attack of his own.
This one in the form of a right roundhouse kick aimed at Obito's side.
Realizing that he could not dodge on time, Obito mitigated the force of the strike by stepping closer to it, making the kick ineffective as he then guarded with his left arm.
Upon realizing his disadvantageous position, Mizuki was able to abandon the kick at the last second, setting his right foot on the ground which he then used as a springboard to launch a second kick.
This one with his left leg in the form of a simply front kick, forcing Obito back.
Upon a brief pause as the first bout ended, the fighting continued once more.
A variety of punches and dodges were executed, as both boys grappled and pushed their taijutsu skills to the limit, seemingly perfectly equal.
Although, similar to all things, the fight had to come to an end.
A small slip up in Obito's guard was all it took, as Mizuki was then able to executed a quick knee to the chest before executing a textbook shoulder throw, which sent Obito's legs out of the ring.
Teacher: "Winner; Mizuki!"
A faint smile could be seen on Anko's face as she saw the verdict of the fight.
Rin appeared disheartened at the result of the fight but was still quiet.
Still, The only voice from the audience came from Shisui. "Good Job Mizuki!"
A faint smile of pride could be seen on the victor's face as both him and his opponent changed from stoic fighters to the best of friends at the flip of a switch.
After they both formed the seal to formally announced the end of the fight, Mizuki helped Obito up as they both walked into the crowd, taking playful verbal jabs at one another back and forth.
1/1 for today
So, its my first time writing a fight scene so I would love some feedback about how I could make future fights better or how to edit this one.
This will probably be one of the only fights like this in the series though bc future fights involve jutsu which completely changes everything.
