Servant Of Evil

"How can you still be alive?!"

"Because I used my sword to protect myself? Though, if I was a normal human or without any battle experience, I would've surely been dead by now. After that, Mavislin demanded to know why I was fighting her boyfriend and I plainly said he started the fight first."

"Oh... I see now, you have experience as a combatant. That's good to know. Most ladies like you don't even know how to wield a weapon, let alone a longsword such as yours," praised Verna, scanning me from head to toe.

Since I was comfortable with walking and having a casual talk with Verna, my armor was no longer visible to show that I do not want to start any fights. And my longsword vanishes and turns into an extra bar of my Elemental Energy.

"What do you mean by that?" I asked, with my eyes darkening.

"Well, I don't know which world you got tossed from but the ladies who dress like you in this world are nobles. They are humans who think the world revolves around riches and treasures. And they do not need of knowledge on how to fight as they force others to do their bidding."

"I was unfortunate enough to get roped into such atrocities. We served the light while working in the dark. And by pushing the nasty jobs to us commoners and puppets, the nobles get what they want without dirtying their hands. Though, I never regret working in the dark."

He managed to find the words to describe my family's situation. They may not be the light but they were still nobles of some sort. And they were tossing the dirty jobs to the ones that were in debt with them. Making them go on the kill and get caught by the police.

Even I wasn't spared, and I was their biological daughter. They sent me out on missions with their older men, all in the name of experience. They were the ones who taught me sword fighting but I self-taught myself martial arts. Specifically, the ancient Greek martial arts of Pankration.

And the main way to end a fight was to make the opponent fall to the ground, which I did when the older men jumped on me. But because I was in a mode that I couldn't control, I ended up destroying their Solar Plexus.

It was an area of the body that connects to a bunch of nerves and is near the lungs. I ended up killing them because they were left to die. And mostly since I had ruptured the area so bad that their lungs were affected.

It was when I broke and devoted myself to going on my patrol to the alleyways. To prevent any jumps from older men to young, innocent girls. I refused to join my parents in their missions and ultimately ignored them.

My parents didn't bat an eye on me after that incident, since I took down five burly men at one go. They weren't even angry that I wounded some of their best killers. All they said was that those men were getting annoying and useless. They were acting like they ruled the Underworld.

"Somone needed to show them their place... Once a commoner, always a commoner."

Thus, they wanted a way to get rid of them and thought I fit the bill to do the job. That was my first mission all along. To take down those men. They molded me to be a combatant and killer, which made me loathe them. I then wanted to run away but I couldn't subject my brother to this.

So I took the burden on, taking up certain missions that involved revenge or helping young girls in the same situation that I was that night. Usually, I took lives because I couldn't control more emotions. But... How can I carry my precious baby brother in the same hands that took others' lives?

I would break down each time I saw him crawling towards me after coming home from a mission. He'll try everything to comfort me, even if it means taking all of his blankets to give them to me. Those were his most prized possessions and he was willing to give them to me to stop the tears.

"I've gotten quite well-versed in covert operations and some physical fighting techniques. And I did find a family with the Mages through them," explained Verna, remembering his past.

I snapped back into reality and glanced at Verna.

"Is it a bad thing? To be a lady that can wield a weapon? I mean, I do not know much about this realm so I want to know. If wielding a sword is bad for the girls of this world..." I asked, looking down.
