In a world where nothing seemed to matter, Aisam once lived a dull life with no passion or dreams. But fate took a cruel turn when he perished in a tragic plane crash planned by terrorists. Suddenly reincarnated in a new world, he found himself in the body of a forgotten orphan from a long-forgotten novel he once read. Armed with a mysterious system, Aisam chooses to traverse the world pursuing the path he chose to accept... The Path of Terror. *** It's my first novel, and English isn't my first language so I kindly ask for your patience and support. Constructive criticism is greatly welcomed as I try to improve. That's why, the further chapters you go, the overall story may have improved.

The First Terror Mission [1]

Aisam stretched behind the trees, gazing at his target, prepared his body, then checked his dagger on his waist pulling it out of its sheath.

He moved it in front of his eyes, examining it to see if it was damaged due to to accident with that man 'Jason'.

Seeing it was completely fine and sharp, he put it back in its sheath, fastened behind his waist and hidden by his clothing, then saw the line of people slowly moving forward, leaving him with less and less time.

As he intended to step forward toward his target, a sudden thought came to him that he had forgotten to ask Nova.

"Nova!" he started speaking with her through his mind.

[What is it?] Nova responded swiftly.

"I forgot to ask one last question I was curious about. How could I speak and read celestians' language effortlessly although every race has distinct languages?" Aisam asked curiously.

[... According to my data, one of the hidden passive features of The FT System is: The ability to understand and talk the language of any intelligent fantasy race as long as you have it, doesn't matter if it's locked or inactivated temporarily]

He fell speechless for a few seconds hearing the hidden passive feature of his system, "well... I have to stop being surprised every time over the system from now on otherwise every mission is gonna meet its deadline," he said.

Looking ahead, he immediately started running, staying a bit far from the trees yet close enough to not lose his target.

He tried running as fast as possible towards the other side of the forest where his target was standing a bit far from it.

Jumping over, avoiding, and navigating through the trees and small obstacles mostly cut trees and reptiles he arrived on the other side, standing behind a tree where the back of his target could be seen.

Once again, he examined the skinny boy who despite not seeming in a good state with his worn-out cloak and donkey beside him, had a brightly broad smile beaming with happiness like he was waiting his entire life for this moment.

Aisam gazed at him for a moment pondering why he was like that, and what he was about to do to him, "Sigh, I wish you well. If I didn't have to and had no reason to benefit from it, I would never rob you of your happiness." he muttered

Aisam slowly approached him from behind, striving to make as little noise as possible to not attract the unwanted attention of anyone else other than his target.

He soon reached behind his back where he could attack him safely while his guard was completely down due to the unnatural happiness obvious in his expression.

However, that wasn't what he was planning.

There were still many people in front of him, and it would easily attract a lot of attention if the boy made any noise if he did it.

So, Aisam decided to resort to one of his natural abilities, he didn't need a literal 'skill' for it, 'Acting', that he had achieved dealing with all kinds of bosses and people during his professional career of doing constant office jobs and moving up the ladder through 'acting' if he could and wanted.

Aisam de-stressed his body to appear fragile, luckily his high constitution hadn't changed his body build too much to make him appear older than he is Erebus and put on an extremely concerned face and eyes.

"B-big b-brother!" he said with a concerned tone, teary eyes he forced, and the cutest voice he could get out of Erebus as he pulled on his cloak.

Hearing his voice suddenly, he jumped up a bit in his place as he quickly turned around, and gazed at him.

Seeing it was just a kid, his surprised-open eyes vanished as he calmly put down his guard, and sighed out of relief closing his eyes, then gazed at him again this time with a gentle smile and kind eyes.

"Are you lost?" he asked as he leaned down a bit staring at his teary eyes and pretty face.

Aisam, tears streaming down his face, stammered, "M-my mom... she isn't waking up... she's on the ground and can't talk to me... she just cries!" His voice trembled as he pointed towards the trees, barely 10 meters away. "Please, help her," he pleaded, his sobs choking his words.

The boy stared at the trees for a moment then gazed at Aisam again, "Then what are you waiting for? Lead me to her right away!" he said then tapped on Aisam's back to go ahead and lead the way.

"Step 1 complete!" Aisam thought as he ran toward the trees with the boy beside him.

Some people standing in front of the boy noticed him interacting with a kid and leaving his goods to help.

However, they ignored his actions, focusing only on the line ahead as they inched forward. The boy's donkey and goods were left behind as he stepped away to assist the child.

Reaching the forest, Aisam led him to an empty spot he'd seen earlier. They moved towards an area surrounded by trees and huge rocks, with only a narrow path for one person to enter and exit, creating a dead end.

Reaching in front of the dead end, the boy looked ahead frantically like his own mom was lost and around the dead end not seeing anyone.

He decided to turn around to ask the kid, but just as he was about to turn his head, suddenly a blade came toward his neck, he intuitively tried to step back and bring his hand up.

But it was already late and as his hands were about to reach the kid's waist who had jumped up aiming for his neck with cold and fierce eyes, the blade pierced his neck going in only about 3 cm because of his low strength as he held himself on his body which was barely standing straight from all the pain, and he struggled to tell what he intended "Wh-".

Not being able to hit a critical attack into major blood vessels, he instead slashed to the side of his neck as fast and hard as he could.

As blood started gushing out of his neck on Aisam's face and clothes, Aisam jumped back kicking his body as he fell on the ground like a doll whose strings were torn apart.

Lying on the ground on his back as blood was gradually spilling from him turning the ground beneath him crimson red, the boy could only barely breathe laboriously as his previously bright eyes had become colorless and narrowed out of burning agony in his neck which had spread throughout his body.

His eyes were slowly closing as his vision became blurry, he could see the blurry figure of the kid who brought him to this situation slowly walking toward him as he knelt on one knee.

Aisam lifted his dagger and aimed for his throat to finish him off as he saw a drop of tear falling from his lifeless eyes, and looking up he closed his eyes.

Then he rapidly thrust it into his throat, making blood gush out violently into his face, and causing his barely audible heavy breathing to stop as his eyes closed for good.

"..."

Sitting on the ground, Aisam fell silent averting his gaze from the result of his actions to seek a benefit.

He was breathing heavily and fast, trying to calm his hyperventilation.

It was the first time he had committed a violent act in this new world, and his body and mind weren't used to such mental pressure.

After about half an hour, he finally calmed down and got up, walking toward the body of his victim.

His body lay motionless, ghostly pale just thirty minutes after death.

The warmth and color had drained away, leaving translucent flesh, lifeless blue lips, and dull eyes.

Cold, rigid hands showed early signs of livor mortis. The eerie calm was only broken by the faint rustling of leaves.

Not wanting to waste any more time, standing in front of the body, "Nova, please, immediately add him to the 'Model Generator' function'," he instantly said to Nova via mind-to-mind talking.

[Alright, please wait for a moment...]

[Model successfully added:

ID: A-01

Age: 16

Gender: Male

Race: Human

World: Elysiuma]

[Do you wish to swap to this model right now?]

"Yes, do it right away," Aisam said promptly.

"Yes."

[Swapping to the selected model started...]

As the swapping process began, a bright, dazzling light enveloped his entire body, and it started to gradually vanish starting from his head to toe.

Each time the light disappeared, that part of his body transformed into the selected model's exact copy.

Aisam started examining his new model.

His bloody body was cleaned during the swapping process, and his bloody clothing was swapped with the gray worn-out cloak of his model.

Which made him taller, his hair turned jet-black, his body skinny, and not as handsome and pretty as his real body and face.

All the things were precisely the same as he saw except the brightly happy face of his model that had his cold expression on it instead now.

"Well, what else can I do?" Aisam muttered sighing in resignation, and started dashing toward the gate of the fortress.
